Now i get whats with all the hype with this anime, what a fuckin ride it has been. Its been so long since i felt this way when watching anime since i felt burn out for months. Vivy manage to pull me in. Altho the time travel plot seems kinda cliche but the OSTs, animations and voice acting nail it all. Really hope Vivy seiyuu gets more recognition, she voices her well. Thanks for the enjoyable ride

I was sort of disappointed in how anti climatic it was but with 13 episodes this was the best conclusion we could have gotten,

also im confused about the post credits, people were saying that vivy lost her memories? but i don't think thats the case, im pretty sure both matsumoto and vivy died at the end.
and this is simply a different timeline a timeline where vivy never had to go through the singularity project.

This show had great visuals and an intriguing premise. But it suffered from terrible writing full of half-baked or outright absent rationale for why things happen the way they do. Everything felt extremely rushed. This show really needed to be two or even three times as long in order to properly flesh out the plot, characters, and world-building.

I give it a 4/10 score. Way, way too rushed. Honestly, I don't get the hype around this show at all. So much wasted potential. Maybe if this anime had 39 episodes to work with it would have had the time to present itself in a cohesive and sensible manner.
Salmon is delicious.

Safe ending tbh but phenomenal job on visuals and music performance. Kinda expected something like this from the creators of Re Zero but hey it was only 13 eps

I kinda expected something like Time of Eve, but maybe it was a bit too much. Although the premise is interesting and I appreciate the message behind it, 1-cour was simply not enough to flesh out the idea in terms of writing.

At least the show has high production value with great visuals, cool animation & amazing music. Especially, OP Sing My Pleasure is brilliant and definitely one of the best OPs I've ever seen.

Can someone explain to me why vivy passed out during singing her last song?

In order to shutdown the archive and other AIs Vivy needed to be connected to the archive. Therefore, when she sung and completed the shutdown program, she crashed as the archive was shutdown along with other AIs that were connected to it. Later we saw Vivy brought back to life with no memory as all her memory was in the archive

If i could break it down by episode, eps 1-6 were a 10/10, 7-10 were 7/10, 11-12 were 5/10, and episode 13 a 9/10. Episode 12 was pretty bad, I think time travel ass-pulls are kinda wack. Why was he able to send her back a few hours, but not just send her back like, many years so that she can save everyone? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Also just the fact that doc has literal working time travel and can't think of a better solution to prevent this entire situation takes me out of it. Unrestricted/arbitrarily restricted time travel is just too powerful to not weaken the plot of most shows it's included in.

I agreed with this. For an anime with 'time control' stuff and unexplained limit just feels so trash when one can not just make everything good (or at least 'okay, still alive').

I'm not sure if i get this correctly.

But did Dr. Matsumoto send the data to the past Vivy and then they try to save the world? Why is Dr. Matsumoto dying? I didn't think this was Time Travel, this was data sending to the past. I'm satisfied with the ending but it is somehow hard to understand lol.

A dystopian nightmare. For me, none of the characters spoke to the heart. It all felt too contrived. It serves as a warning: don't let the robots take over.

Undoubtedly one of the best orginial anime I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

Still, this show falls just a hair short of perfection. There were a few major elements that felt rushed, and the intense whiplash of 40+ year gaps between episodes never really wore off. Still, this anime is absolutely one of my favorites. I feel that with even 3 month episodes, this show could have been a 10/10.

And as MAL doesn't allow 9.5/10 as a score, I fear it will will have to be 9/10.

Nope, it's Vivy! The part of her program that was 'abandoned' in that 'room' so she doesn't remember much of anything. They put that bit back into her body, maybe? Or made a new one.
I don't think Matsumoto died, there's thousands of him, eh? It just takes 1 for him to still be 'alive'.

But did Dr. Matsumoto send the data to the past Vivy and then they try to save the world? Why is Dr. Matsumoto dying? I didn't think this was Time Travel, this was data sending to the past. I'm satisfied with the ending but it is somehow hard to understand lol.

You are correct Unoriginality, it wasn't Vivy time traveling, but data. He sent it back as far as he could, the data has to be sent to some AI that existed in that past, and Diva was the oldest AI in that present.
The second time he sent data back he knew he was about to get killed, and sending more data back 100 years would fail too, the AI rebellion was inevitable, but could be stopped after it started.

It had some bumps, but that ending nailed it! Her song causes MY 'Fluorite Eyes' to water! The lyrics are actually amazing.

BTW: Fluorite is often used to make high-quality lenses, like in robot eyes, eh?

She sacrificed her mission to save everyone with her song what a great ending but with a heavy
cost of losing her memories.

I still feel bad about this show, I should have watched it weekly rather than finishing it with putting it on hold for 5 month.... 8.5/10

What a cost..... After Vivy saves the world with her song, she loses all her memories.

It has been 10 mins since I finished it and I didn't feel anything at all even after ending I felt
like my emotions been taking away by something and been searching the posts here and yours
triggered the release of my emotions by this single line I have quoted above thank you for making
the ending so much more meaningful. I have completely forgot about Vivy cause I assumed she
was gone for good and that ending was just a dream to give the audience hope.

didn't expect that to happen, so she's sacrificed herself, good thing she's still intact so she could be rebooted even if she lost all her memories.

a good ending, but one thing that bother me is that how is Matsumoto descend from a space, catching up to the falling sattelite? the tower isn't that high if I remember correctly. but for the time being, I'll assume he's falling through atmostphere from the tower highest point or there's one of the cube stationed in spaceship like ISS or something.

somehow I feel like something like this would actually happened in real life, it is very possible, it's just still far away. maybe 200-400 years in the future. all of this "human vs AI", I fear it would become reality at some point.

i dont know how you still allow AI develpment after they almost destroyed the world, wished they showed some of that instead of a time skip

id say this show was mostly carried by its high production values 7/10

IDK Why but this last episode was lacking impact, idk where tho.

I really need a sequel for this series.

And, no, there were no Disney things here. lmao
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

That was a masterpiece, her song is for all of humanity and AI.

Toak goes from genocide of AI to coexistence, what a turn.

Vivy's final song is masterpiece, I thought all AIs are gone forever but thankfully in the end she is rebooted, and continues her mission of bringing happiness through song.

Everyone is happy. Vivy, despite being an AI, is shown here as an angel who protected humanity with her voice.
Based Certified.

a lot of people saying it was a "safe ending" or whatever, but it fit in perfectly with all of the show's themes, especially revolving around the meaning of music and creativity and memories.
very rare 10/10 from me, which depresses me. i always get depressed after reading, playing, or watching a masterpiece and want to cry because it had that much of an impact on me and idk when i'll see another.
might be the only show i posted after every episode.

Since people are wondering, I'm pretty sure robo-Kakitani's voice of God was Archive using time travel to "fix" the changes made by Vivy and Matsumoto. It's not explained clearly, but then, a ton of stuff isn't explained clearly.

The post credits scene can only be explained by the humans rebuilding society and fixing Matsumoto and rebooting Vivy. I was wondering if maybe stopping Archive caused a time line shift into a peaceful world, but this would not explain Vivy's confusion upon waking up. The story has already given us many big time skips, and it's up to us to fill in the gaps. It seems crazy that humans would fix them, but then, they did save humanity.

Beautiful show. Loved it.
I knew she was gonna die in the end. Seems to be some sorta then with self sacrifice and suicide in this show.

Either it was a different time line, a dream, it's a different vivy or a old backup of her. It showed a happier future.
