Fern is growing more and more powerful and Heiter passes away. Frieren goes on a fun little quest to get some flower to respect a long passed friend. This gives me a lot of Violet Evergarden vibes.

Frieren embodies everything I love about a show; Spectacle, World Building, Fun characters, Perfect blend of Realism n Fantasy, and what most shows never get right; a slow enough pace where you're immersed into the world, yet never bored.

Its the perfect anime.

I've started watching this anime since it's been in the Top 1 for a while now.
I've watched the first 3 episodes and it bores me so much that I doubt I'll keep watching it. I can't understand why people like it. I wonder if so many people would like it if it wasn't ranked so high...

Sadly, Himmel, the hero, died. He could express his emotions to the elf girl. Ahhh!!! Himmel, we are the same.

I think the show does a fantastic job continuing to explore Frieren's emotional journey and deepening the narrative. While the pacing remains slower and introspective, which some might find less action-packed, it's clear that the episode is more about character development than plot advancement.

The relationship between Frieren and Fern really begins to take shape, with Fern providing a contrast to Frieren's more reserved, detached nature due to her immortality. This dynamic sets up the potential for future emotional growth, particularly for Frieren, who seems to be starting to reconnect with human emotions and relationships in a way she hadn't before.

Additionally, the episode continues to explore the themes of time and loss, especially with Frieren's evolving understanding of what it means to experience life and connection. While the pace may be a bit slow, it’s effective for setting the foundation for the rest of the series. There's a lot of emotional weight carried by the characters, and it creates a strong sense of curiosity about how Frieren will continue to change as the journey progresses.

Overall, I think it's a thoughtful continuation that allows the characters to breathe and grow. While not heavy on action, it invests in the emotional landscape, making it an engaging episode for those who appreciate slower, character-driven storytelling.

It's only been two episodes, yet the weight of Frieren's journey & the legacy of her comrades (particularly Himmel) has been sinking in quite remarkably. I think it's the contrast between the slow pacing & fast passage of time that's really making this uniquely captivating.

So another time skip throughout this episode of four years, i wonder if the main characters in this series are going to even make it through the whole show if they are human considering all of these time skips spanning one hundred years already man. They spend the most of the episode from what i can remember finding this like blue flower which Fern found strange especially since they spent literal months on it, I am pretty sure that Fern is human but I'm not one hundred percent sure at this point in time. Well they find the flower for Himmel's statue and the episode ends with a happy ending yippee!

Es increíble como Frieren juega con las memorias y la importancia de los seres queridos por medio de recuerdos, costumbres y cosas del diario vivir, aparentemente tontas pero con un gran valor emocional. Está muy buena la obra.

Instead of focusing on the typical hero's journey to defeat evil, "Frieren" uniquely explores the lives after the great quest is over. This shift in perspective allows for a deeper examination of the consequences of that journey and the characters' internal landscapes in the long run.

Is it wrong to pursue something even when our abilities lean in a different direction? I don't think so. The goal of life is to chase happiness—there’s no sense in pursuing something just because we’re talented at it if it makes us unhappy. Who can judge where our lives should go besides ourselves? Of course, advice is fine, but it doesn’t go beyond that. No one can tell me how I should live—this is my life. Being a calm, serene person who cares about others—I believe that’s the kind of person I want to be. Someone like Himmel.

For what it set out to do, this episode was good. The dialogue really carries this show and the symbolism is plentiful in here. I enjoy the character progression and development with Frieren and how she's starting to slowly understand the way humans in this world see things. RIP Heiter & Himmel. May this new apprentice also grow alongside Frieren as she's developing in this episode as well :)

Funny how Himmel was doing all those poses, only for them to have simple poses in the end. It reminds me of that quote "look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!" It was ultimately meaningless in the end.

Honestly, I fell asleep halfway through the episode… Usually, when an anime grabs my attention, I stay up all night watching. But this anime? It helps you sleep. (No offense—it’s just really calm and cold in tone.)

As for the priest, he died, and then there's Himmel, that statue, and the search for the flower… What can I say? It’s like I’m playing a gacha game and doing side quests. But I laughed so hard when Frieren didn’t realize the priest was tricking her until 4 or 5 years later! She really took her time to figure it out, haha.

Sometimes simple things turn into emotions we don't expect. One person's timing isn't the same as another's, and it's okay to reach out to people to talk about it.

It ends aspects started on the last episode with casual progression, while nothing of much worth happens on this episode, the world of Frieren and the characters itself makes it not tiring. 8/10

The background music is really beautiful, they fit the scenes perfectly. I love seeing Fern being honest with Frieren, and the flowers suit Himmel so well.

The blue moon weed flower look lovely actually!

I think owning many spells is a very good idea because the more spells you learn the more you can do with magic. I think Himmel would be proud of Frieren right now that she spelled those flowers around the statue.
