There comes a point when you get tired of watching the same thing over and over again. Old favorites come back and some new servants and masters are introduced. Show primarily carried by fight sequences. I was bored out of my mind watching it. I'd seen it all already 8 times over. How many more times are we going to rehash the holy grail war? :|. |

Until I see Astolfo again, get to see a remaster of Stay Night and see Lostbelt get an anime. Even then... if it still fun then I say keep the content train rolling :) |

Rocknblock said: i see. Does he have any link to Waver? I mean they are both members of the clocktower organisation. The most significant link the pair have is Rin. Zelretch was the progenitor of jewel magecraft, which the Tohsaka clan uses, and Waver takes Rin under his wing as an apprentice after the events of stay night. Although it is not clear how much they personally associate (and in which timelines), one confirmed instance of the two colluding is at the start of Prisma Illya. So, broadly, yes, the pair are linked. Ok i didn't know waver took rin under his wing |

I’m pretty sure the last Fate anime I watched was the Babylonia one back when it aired so it’s been a hot minute for me with the Fate series but it’s good to be back lol, I think I remember enough to understand what went down in this episode, but there was a lot of crazy new shit too. This was really cool tho, art and animation looked awesome and all this story setup already has me very intrigued, the characters all seem very wacky this time around, poor Enkidu is the servant of a dog and Gilgamesh is just being Gilgamesh as always lol, it seems like it’s gonna be a good time. I enjoyed the little references here and there too, we got some nods to Lord El-Melloi and a Gray cameo, as well as a callback to Alexander from Fate/Zero. And the setting being in a U.S. city in what I think is Nevada based on that police chief’s hat is very cool as well, it’s about time good ol USA got its time in this series lol. Definitely looking forward to the full anime whenever it comes out, I just hope I don’t forget everything in this prologue before then lol. |

I know this and that about the Fate universe, but I'm far from being a specialist, so some fragments of this special were a bit cryptic; I still did like it a lot. I didn't expect the protagonist to be revealed at the very end, but I don't mind it, especially since I like this design much more. The animation was excellent (and I hope it won't be much worse in the whole series), and I can't say no to Hiroyuki Sawano. <3 Hearing a couple of seiyuus was pretty entertaining, too (especially since lately I've been rewatching Jujutsu Kaisen - evil Itadori is a nice change of pace, haha). Two questions for Fate specialists, if any kind soul would want to answer: 1. What would be the best Fate series/movie/other kind of animation to watch (or a manga to read) in terms of the quality of the plot, characters, and maybe also the visual side - as well as in terms of gaining better understanding of the whole Holy Grail War process? I know I can read it about it on the wiki, but that's not very fun. 2. Games aside, are there other bits of Fate fiction that are considered of good quality where the main Master is female rather than male? |

just like any other fate serie, it took its time explaining the holy grail war and introducing its characters in a pretty fascinating way. Good and evil characters in no random order, it is going to be epic. Well, the last few minutes of the serie were of course, the most entertaining part, between our beloving king Gilgamesh and Enkidu. I had to grasp my heart in order to sit through that spectacle. This raw art style and fluid animation from Clover Works is one of the best I've seen since Babylion which I loved so much. The soundtrack throughout the whole serie was amazing. The little elements of comedy between Flat and Velvet were hilarious, the american way of Mages and so on. Great prologue. |

And what off models? There some melt in rotating shots that's all. nother visual aspect I hated - very detailed backgrounds (a combination of traced photos and 3D CGI) and very low detailed character designs. This is your personal gripe which is understandable. Blue_Reaper7 said: That is stylistic choice. Than why the style is changing in many shots? If you ask me different teams worked on the project with little time and little communication between each other. I think that is due to directors not strict on correction. I personally found no issue. The difference wasn't big enough to the point of feeling jarring. |

Games aside, are there other bits of Fate fiction that are considered of good quality where the main Master is female rather than male? Well... for number 1 Fate Unlimited Blade Works or Fate Zero will do a good job at explaining the basis of a Holy Grail War. Another one might be Apocrypha, it a grail war with more than the standard seven servant summons which Strange Fake is similar too (though the numbers are slightly different due to certain circumstance's). For number 2, there is currently no other anime that focuses on a female master, Ayaka is the first in the non-parody, generally the servant is the female. I'll give a complete list in the spoiler below. Zero - Kiritsugu (male) summons Artoria Pendragon (female), and Irisfield (female) acts as master to deceive the other masters and hide Kiritsugu presence for the opening episodes. Stay Night - Shirou Emyia (male) and Artoria Pendragon (female), they work closely with Rin (female) and her Servant Archer (male) Apocrypha - Sieg (male) forms a contract with Astolfo (?), but they work alongside Ruler Joan of Arc (female) Extra - Hakuno (male) summons Nero (female), who was previously summoned by a female master and Rin (female) also returns as a main character Grand Order - Fujimaru (male) forms a contract with Mash (female), Leonard Da Vinci (female) and Romani (male) form the main cast with them There is also a magical girl spin off series called Prisma Iylla (not seen much of it), which focuses around Iylla as a master/magical girl. It not got the same energy as the standard holy grail fates. I hope some of that helps. The main takeaway is Strange Fate is really the first with a main female master and male servant duo. So that a neat shake up, but the list above will give you a rough idea that whilst most the series don't have a female lead they do have usually a healthy balance of lead female characters. |

I like the Strange Fake version of Jack the Ripper. He's so shrouded in mystery that some studies conclude that Jack is, in fact, a Jill the Ripper instead. We'll never know the truth. I spot pretty girls in Orlando's Clan Calatin police force. His assistant is hot too! It would be a shame to see them die soon. Such a waste of quality meat! Francesca's personality and cuteness overload makes me want to violate her badly! I'll screw all of her holes! That fight scene between Enkidu and Gilgamesh brought tears to my eyes. Gate of Babylon vs. Age of Babylon + OST was so fricken cool! I'm looking forward to the series. It has an interesting cast of characters, with a chimera & a child as a master. Also, for once, in the Grail Wars, two servants are equal in strength. Gilgamesh annoyed me in the previous series since he can easily destroy the other servants. I'm curious how the war will end. |

I wanted this new fate saga not to disappoint me and it hasn't done so at all. Surprisingly I have been very impressed! Both the dialogues and the plot are exquisite and it is no longer necessary to talk about its incredible animation. Probably at first the illustration seems a bit strange to you, but without a doubt they are showing that they have created a work of art. If they continue to be chapters of the same level, I don't hesitate for a second to think that it could be one of the best action anime of the entire year. I almost forgot to say that its sound effects are superior to any other anime! Even better than kimetsu no yaiba, fate zero or fire force. Anyway, I hope this review is useful and encourages you to watch it. Thanks for reading my review! |

Another Fate anime to add to the watch order memes! Been waiting a while for this to get turned into an anime, and I gotta say the animation style here feels great. Nitpicking a bit, the episode pacing – to me –just felt rushed. I know they had a lot to go through with this prologue, but it really just felt like they didn’t give most scenes enough time to breathe. I really wish they were able to give this special another 15-20 minutes. My big hope is that this doesn't carry over to the anime, otherwise though this felt like a solid 8/10. |
