Like the other idol shots they went hard in this episode. The girls singing, the different angles, Aqua's dance. It was perfection.

The cat fight too that was spicy. I was just like Aqua I was so afraid. They both showed such vicious sides of each other. But cool we will see a play next season, can't wait. This was a solid series.

If it wasn't for Mushoku Tensei S2 coming next season, this finale and its overall fantastic run would have cemented Oshi no Ko as an early AOTY winner. Very curious how they'll compete with each other and I'm super looking forward to OnK S2.

great finish. the start and end to this season were incredibly strong. they did lose me quite a bit for the middle 3-4 episodes where it was pretty mediocre and even bad at times but i think overall it's a pretty good first season. excited for more

I love the explored themes (lies vs truth), the setting (Because I'm interested in communication in media as a subject from multiple perspectives.) and the characters+ I hate love triangles that are producing shipping wars because they're distracting from what the story is actually about...and most often than not, just bait for drama in order to make those who are oblivious to the thematic messages to keep watching...=I loved the series thus far, but the ending of the season left me with mixed feelings....

So....if Vinland Saga was criticized by some for not providing action given the story's message, violence is bad, Oshi no Ko will possibly be criticized for not offering romance? I hope it will not be the case because I prefer a good story than my favourite character getting a romantic partner...

That was a really fuckin good season. Like this is some masterpiece level shit right here. Studio Doga Koba really knocked it outta the park with this adaptation.

B Komachi's performance was so nicely animated and sounded tremendous. Not to mention Aqua's sick moves.

Looks like we've already gotten a confirmation on season 2, so that means it's time for the Tokyo Blade arc. Really pumped to see how this turns out!

I don't think it will be controversial to say, that Oshi no Ko peaked at episode one and kinda fell off later. This whole Komachi-B resurgence arc was completely uninteresting for me. I'd rather watch Aqua looking for Ai's true murderer. Him being basically sidelined was the worst thing that could happen.
Easily the best OP this season. And ED probably as well.

Strong 8/10 overall from me.

I loved the whole show but I wish we would've gotten more clues about Ai's past or who the father is. I kinda feel like Ai and Aqua's desire for revenge have been almost abandoned and only came back now at the very end.

While I do hate that this episode is rushed cause Mana's part is cut out, I do love the anime-only scenes that made it to this episode (as well as setting up the next arc as well). Studio Doga Kobo is cliffhanging its viewers so anime-onlies can pick-up the manga.

Studio Doga Kobo stepped up its game with the dance and song animation on the debut concert of the revived B-Komachi. And Kana is a firecracker as ever when she saw Akane! (My initial thought: wait...they know each other...What???) Can't wait for Season 2 of the anime!!!

I didn’t like this anime as much as a lot of people and I don’t think it will stay in my top 10 through the end of the year. But it was still pretty solid. It was shown in episodes 1 and 6 that it can do great things. I just hope it’s more realized in the next season and when I read the manga. Characters really carried here even if I think there could have been more for Ruby to do. It has potential to be truly exceptional so I hope it’s better next season.

WE ARE STAR T-RAIN!!! BANGERRRRRRR.
now that was a great season through and through. songs slapped, opening was a banger, animation was great and the quality never dipped. doga kobo went above and beyond with this perfect adaptation. even the voice actors killed it.
the concert looked amazing as well and i'm glad best girl arima got her moment. ruby was insane as well though.
next season is already announced and this is great cause the 2.5D theatre is my favorite arc in the manga! i can only hope doga kobo's quality doesn't drop, either maintain or get better. no idea how long it'll take but we'll stick to the manga for now.

solid 9/10 for me, really no complaints. anime of the year contender for sure and arima girl of the year so far.

Solid written show that sadly feels like it needs to be sustained by the pillars it mocks about. I wondered what would be the story main focus after the first episode, and now that the first season ended I can say it's just a love triangle with two girls that had little to no reason to fell in love with MC and Idol stuff. Criticizing the media industry feels like the afterthought.

Not sure if the author was scared his series wouldn't succeed without those elements or the opposite (he knew it would succeed and it's mocking the manga/anime fans as a whole). Even the MC persona after episode 1 feels created just because he knows ppl love edgy characters so he forced this persona into him.

Anyway, I don't think those elements are deal breakers, nor take away the moments the show manages to shine, specially episode 1 and 6. However those elements definitely block any chance of being "one of the best" let alone be considered a masterpiece. 8/10 is a pretty suitable score for this.

Oh yeah who better than some middle aged idol fanatics or stans to share their genius insights on how-so a bunch of teenage girls should dance or sing. I mean yeah, they the only people who support this cancer industry in rice countries, so I’m not surprised with the enthusiasm of that old man.

You can apply this to literally any form of entertainment, funny enough you're doing the same thing, a western person trying to share your genius insight on how a japanese anime made for japanese people should be written and much probably without even paying a cent to support it.

The new B Komachi really put out a huge show there, they will make it far. Kana was a little bit sad since no one looked to her and she also had a terrible past, i mean even her goddamn parents ditched her, wow. At first not so many people waved the white glowing stick but do not worry because ye boy Aqua came into the rescue with all 3 glowing sticks lmao, what an madlad. Supporters then also began showing love towards all 3 of the girls.

After the show they head home and it looks like Kana & Aqua talk again. That expression on Mem-Cho though haha. Akane got a new job opportunity and she's stoked to work with Aqua again. Kana is now like a magnet towards Aqua and Aqua gets pissed lol.

Raida made a huge success with his manga/light novel so he rented out a whole cinema that spins but he needs actors and who is the best person to ask that for, ofcourse its Masaya. Akane & Aqua out eating ice cream while Akane posting pics publicly on Insta. Kana is there to give Akane a pep talk, yeah they both still don't like each other. Goodluck Aqua with those two, its gonna be rough lol. They both don't wanna lose. That glance in the past when Ai died, that was a sad one. Now that Aqua has scored a place at the Lala Lai, he's one step closer to the truth.

Amazing anime and adaptation. See you in Season 2.

Lol I could never be in Aqua's situation. The cattiness and pettiness and drama being stuck in between two of them makes me want to NOPE the f out of there.

The entire time their teenage rivalry and jealousy was going on, I had a very visceral instinct of wanting to get up and leave.

And I love Kana, but she really has to STFU with her trying to goad and bait Aqua into "admitting his feelings toward her." But it is what it is.

Are you sure you paid attention to the show? Akane has all the reasons in the world to fall for Aqua, dude literally saved her life and career, and Kana fell for Aqua since she was a kid due to how big was the impact his first acting job made on her, also, Kana isn't only a actress but a singer, these two things pretty much walk together when it comes to japanese or korean girls becoming idols.

In the end i don't even know why you're trying to rationalize teenagers falling in love, teens and kids dont fall in love for super deep reasons lol

Prediction.

Once the deluded fanboys and fangirls move on this anime will fall to a more realistic rating. I expect a 7 or 6.
Of course, what it really deserves is a 4, but fandom culture will not allow that happen. People watch and support almost everything. No matter how poor the work.

It's this lack of needed discrimination and imbecilic acceptance that pollutes and poisons the well. Well then, enjoy drinking out of the gutter.
This is some pretty low-tier bait. Try harder.

Thank you for pointing this out. I was searching if anyone mentions this in this discussion. I really did wish they either adapt chapter 39 completely or cut Mana out completely, because now it only shows her as just an idol otaku only and not much depth on their perspectives. It was most likely to just add those anime-only scenes like you mentioned, but I rather have the anime elevate the other scenes, instead kind of half-ass ing Mana in there.

Can’t wait to see Tokyo Blade Arc being adapted. I’m really interested to see how they’ll adapt the climax of the arc. The climax (Chapter 65 if your curious) has to be my favorite chapter in the series. It captures so much emotion and just dumps everything Aqua has been through onto the reader and it was so impactful even though it was a drawing. I hope the next season will make the scene even more impactful then it was in the manga.

What a phenomenal anime. Totally worth all the hype. Definitely a roller coaster of emotions. It started off strong til the end.
I love the progression of the characters. B-Komachi has made their debut in Japan idol festival. They all had a spectacular performance.
It was a bit too fast pace for me, but I was loving every moment of it. From Ruby's idol smile to Aqua doing the idol dance for Kana Arima. Such an iconic moment.
Then the rivalry between Kana and Akane. It was *chef's kiss.* The Tokyo Blade play is going to be an amazing arc.
Can't wait for season 2. Had an absolute blast watching this.

Although they didn’t adapt the performance of B-Komachi properly like manga and scene where Kana flashed back about her dark past & her reaction towards Aqua when she saw Aqua did that for her..i still feel quite satisfied cuz I got to see that move from Aqua 🤣🤣 But yeah, scene of Kana said “I’m gonna be your star” is better in manga 🥲

The thing that caught my attention the most about this episode was Aqua at the end, when he said he would find his father, but nothing about killing him. Is his mindset changing!?

This show being hailed as one of the greatest things ever has to be just a giant case of gaslighting. Especially when truly PHENOMINAL character driven stories like Vinland aired this exact same season but no one talks about it. OnK is like a 7/10 at best but could improve if the pacing actually picks up and stops baiting with the main overarching plot every 5 or so episodes.
