| alright i've been on a sort of shounen binge lately, and it's been fun. i can see why this anime became so popular, it has fun characters and the plot isn't too bland. animation and ost has never been a deciding factor for me, so it was just a nice bonus at most i think the best part of Demon Slayers for me was definitely the protagonist, Tanjirou. i absolutely adore characters like him who are genuinely kind hearted and patient. i really enjoyed that he was mature and not just screaming all the time, but i suppose that it is because he was the eldest brother of the family. he definitely carried the show for me and i enjoyed watching him. my only complaint is that it doesn't seem that he has much room for character growth, he kinda started off being perfect since episode 1. of course, not every character needs development, but i feel like a protagonist always needs at least a little bit of change outside of their physical powers and all that. yeah sure he's growing as a Demon Slayer, but that's about it another thing i really enjoyed was the setting and the designs of the characters and their clothing. it's a nice touch the plot was just decent, nothing too unique but interesting enough to keep watching. it's a shounen, i don't have many expectations for that area the side characters were....meh. i liked the boar head guy (mostly because he has a pretty face and i think it's endearing, just wish they showed it more) but Zenitsu almost single-handedly made me stop watching the show. why must shounen always have characters like him? why? it's so unnecessary. he adds nothing. one could argue for comedic relief, but he's never funny and almost always obnoxious. and of course they had to make him a bit of a weird pervert, because why wouldn't he be? it's so sad because his character design is pretty good and whenever he acts normally he's just fine. i'm fine with him being a coward but does it need to be so extreme? i think at that point i can't take him seriously at all as a character even during his serious moments. i think i wouldn't hate him so much in the manga since i wouldn't have to listen to his irritating voice but still.... horrible character. Nezuko just....exists... i have nothing much to say about her. she just feels like a plot point rather than a character. oh but she's cute with her muzzle and the audience loves it, so i guess it's fine (lol) the villains in this anime are pretty decent, i especially really liked the spider family. nothing ground breaking but nothing too boring either. just average shounen villains, nothing to complain about. Muzan seems like he could be interesting, mostly because we don't know much about him so far. so, looking forward to finding out overall, i enjoyed watching this despite some of my gripes. i just kinda mostly turn off my brain for anime like this 7/10 |

| Really enjoyed the first half of the ep with Muzan and the Lower Ranks. The moving camera and the way it went was awesome. The second half was a bit meh tbh, but at least the boys have completed their training. Apparently Inosuke and Zenitsu did put in a ton of training after all, lol. Whelp, this sets up the film nicely. I guess I need to go and watch that as soon as possible before season 2 comes out. |

| Wow, what a ride it was, it's like I escaped from a dumpster full of garbage. Comedy is cringe, battles are for battle purpose only and lack any weight, fight mechanics inadequate and random like it was made by a little baby. Plot, what plot? Characters are caricatures. The whole scheme of anime is so painfully typical that I start to think that even Jujutsu Kaisen wasn't so bad. Animation... Who cares about nice looking but useless things? Music? Something-something typical pop crap and several pseudo traditional tracks, not helping at all. That feeling when you are free at last from an unbelievable bullshit OF A DECADE and just smiling salty at coprophages. |
| I really liked this show. As I see it, shounen are supposed to entertain, and Demon Slayer did exactly that, no more, no less. The storyline is pretty simple as it should be. I didn’t liked all of the characters but going forward with the anime I started to accept them for what they are, even though not much depth is added to most of them. But Tanjiro was different, he still embraces what a classical battle shounen main character should represent. He’s a really genuine boy which empathizes even for his enemies, no matter how evil they are, he still manages to see through them. The animation was surely the best part about Demon Slayer, I’m a ‘90s boy and grow up with Dragonball and such, so watching something animated in this way hit me differently, in a positive way of course. Is Demon Slayer overrated? Probably yes. Sure it has gorgeous animations and beautiful battle choreography and colors, but it surely ain’t a flawless masterpiece considering the story telling, the overall plot and character depth. I would have made some changes here and there, but I’m not a story writer so what do I know. As a battle shounen, I found it entertaining and fun, that’s what really matters to me. I give it an 8/10, maybe more than it deserves, but its also to piss off haters like the one commenting above me (: |
| The first third with Muzan and the Lower Ranks looked absolutely phenomenal with its level and setting, particularly for its attention to detail and dynamic camera movements covering the large scope of the scene so damn well and fluidly. The content's not the greatest but the way ufotable animated this scene made it 1000x more epic than it had any right to be. And the rest of the episode felt like a glorified transition episode for Mugen Train but I don't mind that. Tanjiro and Kanao had a nice scene before he departed with Zenitsu and Inosuke, its the start basically for Kanao's progression of romantic feelings towards Tanjiro and she doesn't have to follow any orders to acknowledge that on the inside. The camera movement for the Mugen Train here looked cool too to tease Rengoku and the promoted Lower Rank demon from the first third, sets up the movie/TV series for Mugen Train nicely. Overall, this season was a good one for me in first watch, but my eyes were opened and exposed to the mediocrity this season. A lot of the themes fell flat in its execution and placed awkwardly, particularly surrounding the demons' backstories and trying to portray them as tragic heroes in a repetitive formula after they're guaranteed to be dead anyway most of the time. Lots of really, really bad comedy and awkward pacing from the start being too fast to the middle and final portions being way too slow, prevented a consistent flow of enjoyment for sure, leaving me feeling really underwhelmed as a whole. ufotable did amazing with the animation and digital effects in its moments like with the end of ep 19 and the beginning of this episode but overall, just looked solid as a whole (although there were moments of awkward directing and structuring too in fights as well). This season I gave a 9 in the past but since then, my scale's been a lot stricter in general and this show hasn't aged well at all. Probably feeling a generous 3 for now, might drop to a 2 in the future if I feel 3 is too high then. It has its positive moments for sure, but far more negative stretches than anything sadly. I liked Tanjiro a lot originally but this time around, meh, no one stood out to me positively for long stretches (and Zenitsu and Inosuke are insufferable). |
| The comedy weren't funny at all, and the characters are just linear with not much traits at all. It would've been great to see more of the foundation for the Demons, while the cliff hangers from each episodes weren't good. Basically it's been recycled a bunch of times when it comes to the sad story. But I will admit that the animations are nice 4/10 for me. |

| Tanjiro just made two girls to fall for him and he doesnt even realize it lol. Tanjiro and Kanao interaction is so damn cute. Will they be a couple in the future? I hope not, coz I think Shinobu is better for Tanjiro. Great anime. But it was not as great as I had expected. Still, this season 1 is a 8/10. Time to start the Mugen train. |

| Villain was a lot of fun to watch here. Imagine if in Part 3, DIO was like, "you fuckers aren't doing jack shit, let me kill you all. But, well, Vanilla Ice, you're cool." Good to see my husbando's face once more, has been like, a couple of months since I was at the twenty-third episode so it's been a bit.  I watched the last few episodes all in today, had fun. This series isn't super unique but it executes everything it does really damn well. I still had a bit more fun with Jujutsu Kaisen because of the Chad, Todo, that one fight later on is so fucking cool, but, I'd say of the current big three, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer is undoubtedly the best. Season's ending was a really good leadup to something big, so I'm excited for the film now more! Will probably give it until next month or something so I don't have to wait as long for the third season. Leisurely is how I like to enjoy stuff like this. |

| The antagonist is too evil to and feels forced and unnatural. Really generic and I wish they could even try to justify his actions. Killing his underlings makes no sense and I just cannot find any other reason for it than "bad guys do bad things because they are bad". What a shame. This anime has great animation put behind it, but its worst straw is its characters. Many of them are too eccentric and just feel obnoxious. |
| Tanjirou needs to understand that not everyone has to think like him and it's not something that should be changed, just like Kanao. Nevertheless, all right last episode, great season overall even as a rewatch. Kind of sad to see Muzan being your usual bad villain that kills everyone under him if they even dare to say something. Hopefully he's much different with the upper moons given who they are. This is just the first season of a shounen so I'm 100% sure things will get much better and serious later on. |
