Now that's a weird flashback.
So the little bro's brain got switched into her big sis' body... Pretty wacky and horrifying.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I'm so happy I got bored and put on a random seasonal, this is probably my favourite recent anime since Eizouken so far, it just keeps getting better and this episode alone was wholeheartedly a 10/10, gosh I can't wait for the rest.

Took me until now to get a feel for this series, but I can now confidently say that I'm along for the ride. Just a good episode full of compelling world-building and character development. It's a Greek tragedy that they made the boised tombro gf a bro, though. No clue how they're gonna explain the way Kiruko astral projected her conscience into Haruki, but it's not like this series can get any weirder after what's happened so far lol

First Production I.G series I've watched besides the FLCL reboot, and I don't get why some people slate them as hard as they do. Even if this wasn't good, the production value is a marvel in and of itself. Maybe this series is just a fluke idk

Production IG made Ghost in the Shell : SAC and Serei no Moribito. That alone would be enough to have them in high regards.

We're going dramatic but I think it's a good addition. I didn't expect Kiruko's story to be this brutal, seeing Kiruko and the last moment with her sister was sweet. I think the brain transplant event made that mirror scene from episode one more sense lol. It ended with another cliffhanger, will probably see more action later on baby!

I wonder what transpired inbetween Haruki's death and his brain transplanted into Kiriko's body. Also got the feeling the institution is the cause of the maneaters seeing the fish with arms similiar to the drawing at the end. On a sidenote, his siscon tendencies are quite weird to say the least...

So... ‘she” is actually “he”? That’s strange.

Her past looks sad. Just the siblings and the other children.

It’s like that none of them exists anymore. They are two in one.

I'm so sick of anime normalizing incest or incest-adjacent fetishes... Out of all the relationships people can have, why are they so obsessed with brother/sister or adult/minor?

Yeah... if this keeps up, I won't be able to tolerate this show. The incest stuff in anime is one of the quickest ways to get me to drop a show. This went a step in an even more disgusting direction. "Yay, I get to finger my sister, but it's ok because I'm in her body!"

And they play it off casually like it's the one saving grace of finding out his sister is dead.

Well, if that bothers you that much, drop the show now. It's not for you. You'll find all kind of reasons to complain all along.

Since we heard a gunshot, I'm guessing that Kiriko got shot in the head so her brain became dysfunctional, while Haruki's brain isn't in a very bad condition since the man-eater only managed to eat the bottom-half of his body. So the doctor, that present Kiriko is searching for, transplanted Haruki's brain into Kiriko's head. I'm guessing thats how Haruki is now living in Kiriko's body.

Robin going missing is suspicious. He could be chasing after the doctor, but what if he was the one who shot Kiriko?

The man-eater at the end resembles Kona's fish-with-hands drawing... Does he have some kind of special ability? Or maybe the facility he's living in does.

Also, Kuku is creepy as fuck

Like completly outta nowhere we get to see the past and how fucked up the world already was and somehow it got even worse

It was definetly too much informaion for me, i like kiruko even more now it must have been really damn hard for him/her to deal with everything that happened throughout her/his whole life

this is b.s...
1. the kid died after losing 80% of body
2. the world looks like in current times, there seems to be no technology advancements that would point out that it would be possible to move dead brain to someone else body
3. brain would die 6 minutes after, most likely when he closed his eyes as he said it was 8 minutes before the race went his way, 2 minutes passed when he died
4. not possible to do in normal hospital, maybe in some sience lab as fantasy story, but not in hospital by one doctor and this is not fantasy, but epidemic like anime
5. mutated fish with hands same as the one the kid in lab drew, how would he knew that such thing exists?
6. even if for anime only sake it would all be possible, he coudln't move his body at all after first wake up, instead he even walks, then they said that 4 months passed till he could move his body :D that anime is a joke..

and I am unsatisfied with how they drew Tokio Asakusa, the art is bad for 2022
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ ちゅっ ちゅっ キス (´。✪ω✪。`)

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

I wish I had magic glasses that let me see real world in anime colors ;)

Its been a fat minute since I watched the first two episodes so I should probably rewatch them, but I'm very confused. The sister's hair was black but now its brown? What happened to the sister's brain? Why did they do a brain transplant?

I'm sad that Kiruko isn't trans and rather a transplant... I figured it would likely not representation haha but I had a sliver of hope.

This series is really good so far and the pacing is great. I'm for sure invested. I'm curious with the connection to the drawing and the fish man-eater.

I noticed the ED changed slightly from the last episode, reflection in a puddle of Kiruko brushing her teeth now starts with Haruki brushing his teeth changing to Kiruko. I like it when animes are detailed orientated.

I guess the "joke" in the first episode of the inn owner thinking Kiruko and Maru were doing incest is a setup for this episode's reveal. A misunderstanding or commentary of Haruki's "siscon", which may not even actually be siscon now because Kiriko's body is now Haruki's body, and Kiriko brain is presumably gone along with Haruki's original body. Technically, Kiruko's "siscon" might actually be closer to narcissism now.

The joke when the two encountered the bandits, the 2 year age discrepancy, kissing the mirror, the photo at the stoner farm, it's all come together.

Post-apocalypses in a famous area of Tokyo, people still need entertainment. Kiriko Takehaya has a career as an electro-kart driver but some people take the game a little too seriously. Her brother Haruki and Spike SpiegelRobin Inazaki (then-owner of the white USAF jacket) stop fake-ticket sellers. The latter is very overprotective of kids at the orphanage as he lost his younger sister in the cataclysm. Even though self-made weapons maker Haruki is eager to help fight against the Man eaters, Robin won't let him.

The incident that fans of Kiriko would remember for years to come; an invisible man-eater appeared on the race course. But, impulsive as ever, Haruki tried killing it alone and was eaten by it as a result.

Y'know the official story believed by the hospital staff that Kiriko deluded herself into thinking she was the one who died and not her brother out of survivor's guilt is fairly believable. Unfortunately, one certain doctor that Robin was investigating was involved and the product of his experiment woke up from the bed. The gunshot opens more questions though; did someone (Robin?) accidentally shoot Kiriko in the head trying to kill the maneater and to avoid letting both siblings die, the doctor did the transplant? Did the Doctor shoot Kiriko to get a body for Haruki's brain? Did Kiriko volunteer to give up her body to her brother?

Yep, kissing the mirror in the inn probably wasn't the first time Kiruko did something like that. The siscon did way more in that hospital bed now he's in her body.

After the jawdrapping flashback, a legged fish from the drawings attacks the ship Maru and Kiruko are on. Is Kona's special ability manifesting what he draws?? Were these just designs at first and between the school and the time Maru and Kiruko are in, Kona genetically engineers the maneaters?

Ooh, are we seeing a maneater with a form like a giant baby next? And what's the faceless baby line about?
