Endeavor is really facing the music with his actions. He led his kid on thinking that he'll surpass All Might, only to learn that his son has limitations to his fire power. Toya's fate was cruel, but he could have led a different path is he wanted. The only problem was he was just a kid that wanted his dad's love.

Honestly the backstory for Toya and the whole Todaroki family was incredible. Now its up to the Top 3 heroes to save Japan from total destruction and save the reputation of heroes.

Decent flashback.  Really nice how everyone agrees "we all could've done better, especially Toya"  Seriously I know most of the blame is still Endeavor's for starting all this but he immediately recognized the problem and did what he thought would stop it by trying to get Toya to stop so he would stop hurting himself.  He could've done better but at the end of the day Dabi/Toya is just as much to blame for not stopping after consistently giving himself serious burn injuries.

Also, Horikoshi once again trying to ruin his own super serious dramatic flashback by interrupting the moment with Hawks and Best Jeanist's bad comedy routine.

I’m sorry but Dabi’s backstory has to be the most nonsensical one I’ve ever seen in anime, like I get it a little why it makes sense but how could no one this whole time piece two and two together that Dabi was Endeavor’s son. It just seems so utterly convenient for Dabi’s backstory to just be another typical family revenge plot, it’s so annoying at this point. Most of the villains either have resentment against their family or heroes, I wish there were way more complex heroes than this, and then all for one just wants to become a generic demon lord, come on lol…

Man, this was a really well done episode, perhaps one of the bests of the season. This wasn’t just backstory for Dabi, but for the entire Todoroki family, I really liked seeing the steady decline. It started out somewhat decently even with the cold natured quirk marriage but the downward spiral started with Toya/Dabi’s quirk combo being unable to surpass All Might. And of course Dabi’s side of things was really bad too, he just wanted to impress his dad and be noticed and all Endeavor wanted was for him to not burn himself up, but of course he heavily miscommunicated that and the rest is history.

And wow the world really went to shit fast huh lol, but I’m looking forward to this ragtag trio of top 3 heroes taking on the situation. And it’s about time One for All started being questioned, I’m really looking forward to that reveal to the others lol. And man, I know people have been praising this OP but I’m really digging this ED, it hit especially hard after this episode.

Oh yes, the complicated backstory of Todoroki family... Tragic. Felt fad for them not knowing how to deal with Toya at the time :( He's too self-centered and very confused kid.

Good episode! And of course Kacchan wouldn't stay still knowing Deku didn't show a sign he's waking up XD Our dinosaur in action!

Man, such a good episode. Todoroki family drama is easily the best thing this show has offered in terms of writing.
Not to mention I'm particularly pleased with the fact that Endeavor wasn't portrayed as an abusive piece of shit from the get go. Despite the circumstances, man actually seemed decent enough at first but his ambitions and Touya's behaviour ended up ruining everything.

this episode is very good, toya's portrayal of a child who wants to fulfill his father's ambition beyond allmight, until he is considered a failed creation is very dramatic, i really like the regretful face of Endevour and his wife rei they both deserve a reward for their failure to become parents, i hope the the makers can make Enji Todoroki die so he can be on par with Toya's sufferer and all his siblings. Enji Todoroki is just a fake hero I hope he will be killed by Stain my score 10/10

all might says "young midoriya I can feel myself inside you" PAUSE MY GUY, he's like 16

the backstory could have been handled a bit better. cramming it into 1 episode was a terrible production decision. it should have at least 3-4 episodes to have the emotional impact for the audience

Fantastic episode. We finally made the full loop around the extreme messy situation inside the Todoroki family. Like Toya...*cough*, I mean Dabi said, you reap what you sow. Endeavor made lots of bad decisions and basically ran away every time it mattered for him to be there for his family. On the other hand I feel like even if everything went a more normal way, Toya would have still killed himself at some point in trying to fulfill his fathers dream and even more importantly getting his attention and love. One bad thing led to another and the chain reaction couldn't be stopped anymore. Until now. I hope the Todoroki's slowly but surely can become a family again.

Getting support from his family, the Hawks + Best Jeanist team up and everyone of comforting Endeavor to help should give him reason enough to fight. It's kinda weird not hearing Hawks normal voice, but the tapping on his phone definitely made me laugh, especially when he called Rei Mom hahaha. It also seems like his wings are coming back. Banzai!

Not to forget. They're finally asking about One for All. I was actually wondering when this question would get brought up. This definitely made things even more exciting.

Looking forward to next week.

The backstory of Toya was touching and it was unveiled well. Endeavor and the whole Todoroki family had it hard in this episode. And in the end we were left wondering what will happen to the secret of One for All. I will bet Hawks and Best Jeanist will find it out but what's told to public?

Am I supposed to feel sorry for  Endeavor?  Because I don't, feeling sorry now is completely worthless after treating his family like garbage.  Annoyed to that the family has to feel partly responsible for their son turning from Jedi to Sith.  Maybe the mother can take some blame for being a doormat but even there, Endeavor was a psychopath so hard to blame her too much.  The siblings?  They were kids and get no blame whatsoever no matter what this show wants to say.

Really great episode

Endeavor was a son of bitch, but i'm glad that he is becoming a better person. I wish to see his family united again, but i don't think his family will forgive him.

I saw some people complaining about this whole situation in the anime, some of them saying that the anime shouldn't be showing this and that Endeavor doesn't deserve a "redemption arc". It must be fucked up to watch this if you have family issues like those... but that's what fiction is.

Endeavor is a terrible human being and every time the story tries to excuse how terrible he was up until a few months ago and trying to share his blame among his family, it makes me dislike the series more and more.

Liking how the question of “what is One For All” is finally being addressed, but I have my qualms about the whole family claiming responsibility for Toya. I understand the fault doesn’t fall just on Endeavor, but I’d still say at least about 70% falls on him, since he was the one who pretty much tried enabling eugenics and was at the center for a lot of the major turning points in Toya’s and the Todoroki family’s trajectory.

This episodes continues to highlight how Endeavor’s past continues to affect the present. To think we thought it ended with Shoto back in the first few seasons, it only got worse. His obsession with him and his children surpassing All Might led him to some bad choices.

I can see how he wanted to protect Toya from hurting himself with his own quirk, like Toya said, it was already too late because he ignited that flame within. Endeavor handled everything just the wrong way. He should’ve showed him how to properly control and protect himself from his own flame. Let alone how he carried the rest of his children.

Even though Endeavor became #1 and has been having a change of heart, which I’m glad he finally is, I feel the same way his children do about him. No amount of saves or apologies can change what he did, and he needs to face the consequences.

Moving forward, I’m looking forward to Deku’s talks with the past users in the next episode!

This episode was too real. And after a long time of getting only the bits and hints, we're finally seeing it unfold completely. It's true that Endeavor has done horrible things to his family, but his growth made him my favorite character in the series. And I love how ll of his family came in solidarity for once.

Endeavor really should have handled that whole situation better. His kid still wanted to be a hero and showed he wasn't going to stop, that's the time for Endeavor to set the kid down the path that will have the best chance to fix the problem. If I were Endeavor I'd have gone out and bought the kid a bottle of sun screen, a torch and some warm clothes and told the kid to train his body to be more resistant to the heat. Then you'll continue his training. Best case he enjoys his time at the beach and gives up on being a hero because he can't get the resistance he needs, worst case, he starts to be able to use his power without injury and you teach spend a little more time teaching him knowing he won't surpass All Might.

Beats him killing himself or becoming a villain.
