| Dang vecause in previous episodes the pacing of idle relaxed time was already set the ending just totally shocked me. The timing of these asassinations was so good- just after they had finished a big mission and were relaxing totally too me my surprise. I cant believe so many ppl they built up in 8 elisodes were for this moment. Probably one of the best execution of timing I ever experienced. xD |
| I should’ve seen it coming, the whole drinking party and the moments with Himeno in her room all felt like calm before the storm when I think about it lol. But damn that was a nice bit of insanity to close the episode out on, a plan to take out a lot of Devil Hunters at once and the main cast was part of it, I’m pretty sure Makima either faked her death or will come back somehow, but other characters I’m not so sure about, it especially hurt seeing Himeno slowly disappear piece by piece to save Aki, and of course they would do that right getting us to like her and after she made that alliance with Denji, RIP funny pukey eyepatch girl. And even with the sadness of Himeno’s death, I was pretty excited to see this blade guy with the hat after seeing him in the OP, that’s such a badass design and the fact he survived the Fox Devil, the Ghost devil and Aki’s sword shows how powerful he is, and I want to point out how his design is reminiscent of Denji when he’s in his chainsaw mode, I’m thinking he’s like Denji where he’s fused with a devil which makes him more powerful than a regular contract, just my guess for now tho. And lastly I wanna say how beautiful some of those shots in the first half were, especially the breakfast bit between Himeno and Denji, definitely the calmest calm before the biggest of storms. And that ED was fitting for sure after what we just witnessed, some beautiful visuals of the graveyard that I really liked in there. |
| I dunno if Fujimoto actually written vomit as some sort of metaphor for shitty life experiences/ trust issues / bad relationships, but after this episode I actually think it's a little bit deeper than just "meme kiss goes brrrr". |

| Holy shit... I thought we were going Toradora and then the latter half of the episode happened. Himeno is almost certainly dead dead. I don't except there to be some kind of devil pact to bring someone back or some loophole since she died from giving her body to a devil. And that devil got instantly killed by that big snake thing. Random thought but in theory that could be the gun devil since it's this super long devil that you could imagine zooming across the Earth and tearing a path in the way we saw Aki's house get blasted. Of course maybe the fact that she didn't have to say "gun devil" when she summoned it could mean that it's not but idk the mechanics of this world enough. But could Makima really be dead? She's been insanely built up so it seems like a waste to have her die without showing off any cool ability. A gunshot to the head is obviously extremely lethal, but maybe she has some devil contract that could have saved her? Or maybe she's just dead and this is a really crazy turn for the story. Even more so than it already is. Also maybe rip to all the random ppl like Kobeni and such that were at the bar. We didn't see any of them die on screen so some of them could have lived but we'll see. |

Though the dude is still a battle shounen protag, so no seggs for the time being. You know jokes and everything sound funny only if it’s the right time, so given the total one-eighty tonal shift this episode had I almost forgot we were playing tease sex in the first half. The Katana Man arc is upon us, and the super explosive start with an all out attack over Tokyo shaked things down to its very core. Mappa nailed the Himeno’s segment, and so did the Aki’s. Eighth episode, and the first major death. So long Himeno. ED from Tk just the thing this episode needed. It's not a battle shounen |

| What an episode! The long intro was needed for viewers to get enough attached to Himeno before her departure, and it was better than when I read the manga as at that time her death really felt to quick to get even remotely emotional. The action scenes were amazing and the pace became so fast, the episode really flew away. If there is one thing I wasn't too happy about was the curse devil's death sentence, which I thought it was much better depicted (and terrifying) in the manga than in the anime, but aside from that, really great stuff!! |

Denji slowly about to get his first time from Himeno instead of Makima, and rather than her finding a dick, she finds a cola-flavoured Chupa Chups from the previous night of the welcome party, which Makima so happens to let Denji have a feel of his first-ever indirect kiss to remove Himeno's vomit taste in his mouth. Of course, the sex didn't happen from the night of drunkenness, and Denji persistently bickers his interest in Makima, which Himeno lends her help with, only on the condition that he will do the same for her with Aki. The unlikely breakfast secret alliance between the Chainsaw Devil and and the leader who has seen deaths many. Makima's business trip to Kyoto, as mundane as it is, got mysteriously and suddenly killed by the Gun Devil's underlings, and this happened slowly to the rest of Division 4 as well...in smears of cold blood. Denji, Power, Aki and Himeno having a meal, when the same evil strikes, and even with Aki's Curse Devil, it isn't enough to stop the Katana Man. The woman with the Snake Devil's contract that guides her, presses everyone to their limits, and likewise, to their deaths. The only hope left being Himeno's contract with the Ghost Devil to get revenge for Aki, and that might be the most touching, yet gruesome death ever. The 8th ED having been leaked hours ahead of time, and it's a banger since it's TK from Ling Tosite Sigure, with the deathly visuals. Is all hope lost for the Devil Hunters? What is the comeback at this point? no offense but are you on the autism spectrum? nothing you say make any sense |

It's not "fighting baddies with godlike powers for hype action moments" whatsoever. When people were talking about CSM being hype, it was never hype scenes. It's a slow build with careful plotting. It's more like a seinen, and the overall great writing and quality are what make it "hype." |
