ITS SO GOOD OMGFFFDDFDFF

It really felt like a live-action movie with all these angles

And I really loved the added scenes, I was afraid MAPPA would ruin the anime by trying to replicate the insane pace of the manga and I'm glad they didn't do it and went their own way

I was also afraid about CGI since it was obvious they would use it and I really liked it. It looked slightly iffy at times, but overall it was awesome and very enjoyable especially by anime standards

I also enjoyed the gloomy and depressing tones, very fitting for the start of the anime

Damn the first half of the chapter was snoozy af until finally some action to see plastic denji man, they really went straight into making this guy cgi lol.

A pretty good first episode. Made me feel all the emotions of the manga. Animation is superb. Chainsaw Man 3D could have been better but it's not too jarring. Easy 9/10.

Is this anime a Jujutsu Kaisen's spin-off? They're pretty similar.

Why does Makima have such a sweet voice? MAPPA messed up again.

We have a long journey to see if Chainsaw actually deserves the hype and will at least be a 8/10, or if it's just a good show aka 7/10 or even if it's mediocre and overrated like KNY and JJK, meaning 6/10 or below.

Sounds like you might be trying a little bit to hard to be different. I'm not even a super fan of KNY or JJK but you really sound like you had the intention of disliking these animes before you watched them. Either ways to each his own.

the only thing I didnt love was the ost choices but everything else was just straight up perfect. Chainsaw man and bleach Tybw are really putting the standards too high

A very solid start! I felt the same amount of excitement and emotions as I felt while reading chapter 1 of the manga. The animation is just beautiful, and the CGI is good imo. It's noticeable at times, but nothing too whacky or weird.

Looking forward to the next episodes.

Well,cgi man proved that this show was absolutely OVERHYPED. But other than that,it looked beautiful. Even the evil devil has some cgi scene(if you looked carefully),in my case,I'm very sensetive with cgi movement,so I noticed it right away. I already know cgi man was real since I noticed some cgi in latest trailer(really unnoticeble). Even jjk have better animation than this. But lets not talk about that. Overall,animation was 9/10 for me. for the story,lets say it has a simple and good start. As a manga reader,7-8/10 for story. Voice...makima should have a better va than this,but it sounds good,so it's fine. Overall,8/10 first ep. But doubt this show will beat mob psycho 100(already confirmed zero cgi).

TBH all the hype surrounding this anime along with the aesthetic of man with a chainsaw head and arms kind of turned me off. I'm glad I went ahead and watched it anyway. I loved the connection between him and his little devil pup and I'm sad the pup is gone. Hopefully they are one now and they can experience the Jam and bread together. I love that the girl at the end gave him a hug... A very beautiful ending. I'm looking forward to next week.

Mappa didn't fumble it, the animation and the ambiance are excellent, and the sound direction is wonderful. I hate how this is written though, the dialogues are corny and lack impact, maybe I will get used to it later

Yeah it will be 7/10 just like the manga. The CG looks disgusting but Fujimoto can't draw anyway so really nothing has changed.

MY 1st comment in a forum is for the 1st episode of Chainsaw Man!!
I LOVE IT!!! I think Denji will have a spot in my heart bc I can relate to him in a fews things.
In the 1st half I cried a little bit, but in the other half I was amased with animation, and for me MAPPA kept his promise: bye bye censorship!!!!!!!

And can't wait to see Power, got a feeling that I'll love her but let's wait and see how the things turn off!!!

We got to see a lot of stuff this episode: Denji and Pochita's life, a bit of their backstory, the fight against Zombie Devil (which might I add was very cool!) and finally Makima meeting Denji. The OP and ED are bangers too. I like the ED a lot. Can't wait for next episode!

Honestly for the most hyped anime of the year I cannot understand the super excessive use of CGI the drawn parts look just fine but in a season where we are getting some super clean drawn mech fights in a Gundam anime that no one is really even talking about it feels weird that the biggest release of the season is just a giant CGI fest.

The opening was brilliant and both the opening and ending songs were really good. The art and animation style is so fitting and the manga adaptation is pretty spot on so far. Denji's VA is soooo good and is exactly what I imagined him to sound like. I can't wait to watch more episodes!

I think the first episode is very good and very perfect but there is one point where the cgi is waaaaay too much, normally I wouldn't watch so heavily cgi anime but I've waited too long and I'm doing it for aki and angel.
first episode is a 8/10 because of the heavily used cgi I don't expect the rest to be less cgi but I hope deep inside
