LOL, it's hilarious the guys freak out about silly things in this series.

Not much competition this episode, more of a breather/filler. I think this may be the weakest episode of the show so far, so perhaps they're building up for two big episodes later on.

It's just two days away from the tournament. So, the boys need to chill and relax before the day. They were pumped up as usual but on a relaxing day, they were so bored that their bodies were just asking for more and more practice. LMAO. Even, those dictionaries had them focusing on the upcoming game. LOL

The cleaning was one way of distracting yourselves from the training and it worked quite well for the most part. Not for Shotaro tho, he cramped his hand joint from the looks of it and it's already tournament day. What's going to happen now? How'' they manage to do everything? It was a funny episode, in the beginning, turning very serious by the end. I hope everything goes well for the final years. They're looking forward to it so much. Poor Shotaro.

The soundtrack was really nice this episode.

Everything was so cute, and I was just waiting for something to go wrong. But, I didn't think that would happen. The insert shot where Futaba landed on his wrist made me shiver.

I had forgotten that the wife was real. lol

The way everything is directed here makes me feel like the director really knows what they want. They're especially good with emotions. Emotions are abstract, and the director drops reality when showing them.

We know the protagonist can't be seriously hurt, so Futaba should be fine. But, I really can't see how. He seemed to be in so much pain. I am so worried about him!

The "calm before the storm" filler episode for the regional tournament in 2 days time for the Ao High Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics team.

For now, Asao has all data of the participating schools, so it's a great time to scrutinize each team, including Shiro High...but attaining rest is as important for everyone. So off they go to do ther own stuff...albeit being VERY bored, and doing practices like hidden cats by instinct alone. No matter how much distracted these guys become, without practice they're comedic reliefs, so Futaba introduced thick dictionaries to the team...with funnily disastrous results that reflect back to the rhythmic gymnastics. There's only one option left, and doing cleaning isn't so bad after all, the Clean-Loving Ace Misato sure knows what's right.

Even Coach Shusuke also feels restless, just like the guys to itch for more practice.

So those uniforms were made by the coach and his legit wife (to which the guys hadn't found out if she exists yet, guess how long would they have found out). Still on the thoughts of sharing like for Koutarou, he's just like Futaba when he first joined the team, and him along with both Futaba and Misato are the team's future hopes.

All this time I'm always praying for the boys that all the hard work they managed to put in, it'll be worth their every effort for the regional tournament, and soaring ahead for the Inter-High. The first step is just as important as the ones after.

Just now when Futaba was protecting himself against the filled storeroom of falling boxes, surely that must've sprained his hand, and the nightmare tremor filled within him is as realistic as it could get. Hopefully he could recover before the regionals start, fingers crossed.

Nooo! Shotaro! T_T I mean it wasn't his fault but I mean how is he gonna compete with a hurt wrist. I really enjoyed this episode. It was slower but really funny episode. And it did well in raising the anticipation even further for the big showdown. And I knew someone had to get hurt before the big day but I really hope he is gonna be able to compete. He's put so much work into it. They all have. T-T

It's beautiful and ugly at the same time. Beautiful in the aspect that it reminds me that I don't have any memorable event in highschool, or my entire education life, or my entire life. These boys are having the time of their lives, and I have none.

Ugly in the aspect that the common cliche, like injury just before the important match, is in the play. I watch a lot of sports anime and the only good thing that come out of this is that sometimes it'll lead to the undressed event (to see the injury spot). But otherwise, I hate it.

Everyone's restless, Inter-high is close.. And a few flashbacks.
Shotaro's injury will probably fuck something up later..

I a hundred percent agree! The directing and camerawork has been one of the anime's strongest points. And especially in the dream sequence I felt terrified. I don't know man, I doubt Futaba will be okay, but I hope he will be,, He's my new comfort character (T^T)

A painfully fillery episode that ended on an interesting note. Waking up from the dream sequence and having Futuba actually hurt was a pretty cool reveal ngl.

We all know, and he should too, that he should've had that wrist checked out right away..... That dream sequence was legit spooky and uncomfortable enough to watch that I was reaching for the fast forward button. Glad it wasn't any longer, but man, superb directing indeed.

I see them being restless really not so good. A one-day resting restriction over one fuckin important day really a big challenges for most of the athletess. No exception for those boys. Watari finally got his little flashback before joining the club. But, its just too flash until i stop caring about that. The first time the coach wife appeared casually beside his backstory. Well, thats good enough, even though the mood kinda out of place considering everyone already on the restless syndrome. Okay, then.

Cleaning become a device to put some challenge to the boys gymnastic performance. The bland mc, Shoutaro, have an honour to carrying out the heavy burden as the drama bearer for the rest of the upcoming episodes. Nice timing to make everything looks difficult. But its honestly not a nice way to put up some mc development with two episodes left. Shoot. Whatever. Lets see how its goes at the next week, prolly Shoutaro will be absent considering his condition ....

I really hope its just a kink or cramp that he made worse with stress and that dream and not seriously hurt like they made it seem in the last second of what seemed to be a cherry, semi-comedic filler-like episode before the comp. at first

(like I hope its more mental in origin then physical in origin because if its physical nothing can be done except compete and make it worse but if its mental in origin making a kink worse things can be done like getting it checked out and relaxing after finding out it isn't as bad as he thinks it is and no need for panic)

cause Shotaro knows something (unknown) happened to his hand and panicked cause hes looking forward to competing with these specific members since its his first and last chance

also cause like I heard there's only 2 episode left and idk if there's gonna be more so that would legit suck

yeah it was actually a pretty good panic dream (especially for an anime they animated it really cool with those blurry dream like panicked transitions ive had dreams like that before or at least similar deffs not that cinematic

but I thought for a second he was just dreaming the pain due to his stress and panic about the comp. but then it was real and my heart dropped for a second time that made it really hard to tell if it was just a cramp/kink he was overthinking and making worse or if it is a serious injury like a sprain for example

and also Misato kun awww I love him hes so sweet

but did I think I was in for a rollercoaster of a ride where you thought "hes fine just a cramp" to "its serious" back and forth and that my heart was gonna sink that much in the last bit of what seemed to be a cheery, light comedic, and fun pre comp episode no I didnt think that...

I'm so conflicted. After Shotaro hurt himself, I was scared for him. Participating with an injury can make it worse, and sometimes even force him to quit the sports at once. But then when he woke up in pain, I got scared of the idea of him not participating at all. For a second this episode, when they mentioned other powerhouses across the country, I had hope that we might get a second season of them competing in the inter-high. Now with Shotaro's injury, I feel like winning the regionals will be too far-fetched. Ugh, I'd hate for it to end that way.

Two more episodes before the end of the show, it's gone by so fast.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Yeah, the dream was so well directed. I could feel Futaba's panic as his wrist grew heavier and heavier.
I also hope he'll be okay. He's like my sweet adopted son. lol

that was kind of like a filler ep, a "breather" ep even tho most of the episodes are already pretty chill, it was nice tho. i dont get why they didnt just practice, i mean it made them even more restless so why not just..? but im not an athlete, never been into any serious competition too so maybe its something i just cant get

eh its kinda a rule that a day before any torunament/match/competition you dont practice because your restlessness and lack of concentration might lead to some injury during practice or you might just overdo it and be exhausted the next day. Also there might suddenly be some move that you cannot get bc of nerves and you are gonna stress over it or try to perfect it which might also result in injury or unecessary anxiety. the same is said for revising for exams; that you dont do it a day before cause "you will forget everything" or stress over it bc you cant get smth right or whatever.

Great episode! Yeah, I think there's definitely gonna be a season 2. There's no way they can cover the regionals and then inter-high in 2 episodes, plus there's also Shotaro's injury.

Misato seems much more open to the boys now, you love to see it. The senpais not being able to control their urges was hilarious lmao. They really made us worry for Shotaro's wrist the whole episode, that was good build up. That dream was terrifying, though the way it was done was awesome. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Watari saying how he didn’t have anything before this. That was so heartfelt. And I loved when they were stargazing, it made me tear up a little, that little moment they shared as a team, the silence in that scene was beautiful.....they didn’t even need to say anything.

I hope Shoutarou is ok but......I doubt it :(

My heart dropped when Shotaro fell and took the impact on his wrist. He should've told someone straight away that he'd done it though because there might've been something the others knew to do to stop it from getting so painful. I need to see the next ep now cause the idea of Shotaro not being able to perform is heartbreaking!

I loved that the boys just couldn't stop themselves from micro-practicing on their rest day. They're rhythmic gymnasts down to their core!

I really hope Shotaro's hand is alright, it's probably from the door that he opened and stuff falling on him that sprained his wrist, I really love this episode and look forward to the next to see what happened to Shotaro's hand, really hope the coach or his wife could help because she is or was a nurse if you didn't watch the previous episodes

Anyone else spot that reference to Fune wo Amu with them reading the Daitokai dictionary? Love when studios reference their other works in subtle ways. Also yeah, that dream sequence was a brilliant piece of animation and directing. Even though this was supposed to be a slice of life episode before the competition, they managed to make it have some significance in the form of Shotaro's injury. I'm actually really interested in how the next episode will turn out. There's a very real chance that they just lose. Love it when there's actual stakes and it doesn't feel like the team has plot armor.

Like when you give the director more creative liberties. Seriously, Shoutarou's dream sequence was so well directed. Trippy yet cool and creative at the same time.

Also, the way in how they presented other schools by using silhouettes really gave the impression of them actually appearing in a potential season 2. We can only dream at this point.

Overall, nice buildup episode. I see they went for the "injury before important tournament" trope, huh? Cliche as hell but at least I think it's better than the alternative of having the boys arguing or fighting before the big day.

The episode was really enjoyable! While it did seem more filler, we did get a bit more abt Watari, which was really nice!

I'm really worried about Futaba tho :((((((

This episode was quite funny XD

Who the heck would read dictionary when they're already this bored...

Why clean, they could've gone out to eat or something, what will Shoutarou do now that he hurt his hand.

Shoutarou really dreamed about this while sleeping, if it was me my imagination would go wild thinking about all the negative stuff the second I get hurt.

That's so me when I'm freakn' bored 🤣

I really enjoyed watching the senpai's being so restless before the competition. That was really fun to watch; almost comedic.

And it looks like Shotaro really did hurt his wrist when he fell T^T I wonder how that's going to affect the competition now...
