Anyone else noticed that the OP changes with every continent Rudeus is in? First it was Tabibito no Uta for Central continent where he was born and raised, then Mezame no Uta for the Démon Continent, and now Keishou no Uta for the Millis Continent. Oh boiii, I can't get enough of MT's OP's

That's a good catch. I do wish they actually had showed the map more briefly and pinpoint where the party was at any given time in addition to explaining why sea travel isn't really a thing in the middle section and other details though I understand it's not really feasible in an adaption and would take a lot of time.

Actually this has been bugging me too, since they have all the time to show the world around Rudeus as the showcase for the OP, why not throw in a smattering of the map where it is happening too? They're missing out on such worldbuilding potential right there.

am i the only one disturbed by the fact that Beast People are now happy at the end of the episode even though quite a large number of Beast men/women got massacred during the raid? kids got orphaned and at the end we see everyone being happy dovey.. like wtf..

Well, life is hard in the woods.

Since the 1st season it seems clear that Rudeus is the most "delicate" person around. Even the little Eris was "nah, whatever" to people get murdered next to her.

So, short mournings are usual to violent places.

Actually the weakest part of the plot to me was the way like they TOO MUCH CONVENIENTLY let the clothes and wand (what is a weapon) of Rudeus just one jump far from his jail, lol.

Novel fans hate the manga, but this was a point that the manga did a better job.

Since they are doing a world-travel, show a f* map is essential to the audience be more involved by the story.

For example, this single page from Chapter 18 was amazing to explain it without doing that "meta" exposition to the audience:

Damn, so it was Garus who planned to attack the beast people's village. I thought Junior would run away in that situation, but he helped Rudeus, he is a good junior.

Finally the misunderstanding has been resolved.

Fufu a good newbie huh. Hmm. Aight. I won't spoil.

hmm, well, roxy was like an outcast from migird tribe. She can't do telepathy. So she wasn't able to play like everyone. And also she was a bit cocky bcz she was kinda op. But Rudy and family make her realise there's a lot more out there. And I can't explain anymore without spoiling so imma stop

Im happy that the misunderstanding was cleared. And the battle was great. And it's really heartwarming to see Eris-chan so happy.

Though kinda sad about Eris-chan's grandfather.

the buta Darius is looks kinda disgusting.

Is that Sylphiette-chan!?? That mask girl.

Looking forward for what will happen in the future.

idk man, they cut some things out, they add some new thing in. this makes me slightly worried. yakusoku neverland s2 too had a few good episodes -- and boom -- it became a pile of crap. I hope I'm just overreacting
I think you're worrying too much. Nothing skipped was that critical. It's nice world building stuff yes, but you would never be able to properly adapt volumes 5 and 6 if you spent too much time on volume 4, which is by far the least important content of the 6 volumes being adapted.

I can't argue with so many unknowns in this equation you're giving me. It's asking me to make up my own hypothetical and entirely personal fanfiction to give me a satisfactory answer to my own complaint.

I'd also like to note I didn't complain about them taking him back. It is still pretty dumb that they apparently haven't questioned him at all.

Maybe NhtDesu did and I guess we'll see next week.

Well in these kind of tribal setting like these usually the chief is the one who get to deal with the heavy case such as Rudeus. What I'm list above is just the thing that could possibly happen given the situation some said the beastman just dumb, plot device,.. like you guys but to me it's just an unfortunate accident due to poor communication. It's really late now 2am and I haven't slept yet so yeah good night and see you next week!
Well I'm one of the people who said the beastmen are just dumb. I'll put the following in spoilers since I don't know if the show will get to explaining it or not. If you want context for the beast men please read, it's nothing too crazy. Some of this is stuff the anime has skipped adapting, some of it may still be adapted next episode based on what the title for next episode is.

One thing I've noticed is ALOT of people saying they have no context for the behavior of the beastpeople. All I would say is, you're right. It hasn't been explained yet, but since the next episode is titled "Slow Life in Dedoldia Village" I imagine your explanation will be coming shortly. The last chapter of Vol 4 in the LN has the same name, and its in that chapter where alllllll the stuff about the beast people, their motivations, and their faults are explained.

I imagine some wouldn't be satisfied with that and thats fine I suppose. I don't particularly like this volume of the LN myself. This stuff does get explained though.

Mushoku Tensei is probably the best animated show of all time. In every other show, even Ufotable shows, when characters talk, only their mouth moves and rest is mostly static.

However idk how many people noticed but when Eris was talking this episode you could see multiple sets of animation, they clearly went the extra mile and drew more frames with more detail. You can see her head tilting in different directions as she talks, her cheeks and eyes change all the time and even more.

Also that sakuga during fights was just god tier.

As for the episode itself, it was good. I just wasn't a fan of how Eris and Rujerd did not show up to save Rudy. The explanation at the end as to why they didn't felt a bit half assed.

Apart from that it was good.

The man who was with RUDY was a good person.

Okay, this is the first episode where I really can't complain about anything. Rudeus naked for like a week was funny, but it became weird that after he got a cellmate, the new dude for some reason they let him keep his cloth, but not Rudeus. So it was kinda felt that Rudeus was naked for the sake of comedy rather than plot.

Animation was really nice, also the new OP song is okay, I guess? I liked the previous one better, but I guess it will grow on me eventually. Keep it up Mushoku!

Well, the kouhai didnt "defile" their sacred beast. They are probably being extra harsh with Rudeus because of that.

Well now this was almost perfect but that ending cut to Eris' Grandpa's death came literally out of nowhere, it killed for me what otherwise would be a fantastic episode.

From what I could gather in the source this was revealed much later when Rudy or Eris themselves find out, this would have been much better and more impactful for the audience, now I'll prolly have to sit for weeks watching Eris happily oblivious of this awful truth.

Aside from that... the fight was awesome, the world building phenomenal, love the new music and the new characters.

Ah, so it was Gallus who attacked the beast village. Rudeus and Geese put up a nice fight against Gallus, and thankfully, they came out victorious in the end. Honestly, I like Geese. His enthusiastic personality is pretty refreshing. Ruijerd and Eris had some troubles on their end but, the misunderstanding is finally resolved. RIP to Sauros.

the clothes thing are the beastman tradition. they basic go with they most hard punishment aka nake and thorw water in the face... we have this in the novel.

Later in the episode...

I feel bad for Eris's grandfather (also Rudeus's Grandfather right?). Eris wanted to boast about it to his father! What the actual ****! I feel so bad both for Eris and for the Grandpa.

I mean I could be wrong but I think the idea is that they think rudeus did something that makes them consider him literal scum of the earth, it's why dirty water was poured on him and not his cell mate who only cheated in gambling

Great episode! That whole segment in the prisono was hilarious lmao. I like Geese already, I hope he becomes a recurring character.

Rudeus vs Gallus was awesome, glad the misunderstanding was solved. Lovingly hugging doggo is not equal to lewding the doggo. I like how the beast people's punishment are belly rubs lmao. I think it's a really important moment for Rudeus's character, being thanked by the beast people. His growth to become less scummy as he is right now.

Honestly don't feel that sad for Sauros himself dying since I don't really think he was the greatest person around, I am more sad for Eris, because she doesn't know that she can't tell him all these stories she has right now of her adventures. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Nice! I really, really love this episode. Watching this makes me think that this has surpassed my expectations when I compare it with the Manga. Rudeus being Rudeus on the first half was really fun to watch though I am a bit disappointed when Rudeus' spell casting wasn't that great enough to blow my mind but the help he gave to their tribe is really praise worthy even as a bystander and a prisoner of them.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

You do realize that's on purpose right? The creator of the ln felt that the scene in the original came out of nowhere in the sense that it seemed like he made it up out of nowhere, so this time they're having a buildup to rudeus and Eris reveal to It. And the idea that you're going to feel bad knowing about it when they don't is also intentional, what did you hate it when Hughes died in fma and elric winry and al were having good times not knowing about it? Jesus people will seriously complain about anything nowadays.

If you want to delve into this series it's better to read the novel, because the manga is slow paced and there's more cut content.
