| Meh, recap episode. The second half was interesting. Why is it that whenever they have an Eva testing, everything goes wrong? |

| Ugh, recap episodes are usually trash and don't cover the super important details. Though, cool to be reminded of the battles and angels and it was only part of the episode. Rei's monologue sure gives more insight into her character. Something's up with Rei and I need to know what it is. |

| Bruh... a recap episode? After finishing ep: Oh nvm some new stuff happens. The synch wasn't as effective with Shinji in Eva 00. Rei is part of some operation? I wonder what that is. Also Rei's monologue about not knowing who the commander or herself are was something odd. Rei jumpscared me too in that scene with Shinji inside Eva 00 |

| I'm not fond of recap eps ngl but this episode really impressed me. The second half covers for it. The second half had a bit of Ayanami's weird mind conversation. Something is definitely up with her and her Eva else, why won't it be compatible with Shinji but vice versa it works. Also, why was Ayanami and her Eva holding a spear in the end? Was it something related to what Ikari was saying? The spear of Longium or smth? |

| Recap was fine, but I suppose it's necessary since the show can be a rollercoaster for the average, weekly viewer Mysterious prophecies are... mysterious and we still have a lot of loose ends The Unit 00 berserk scene was confusing since they brought up three different hypotheses... 1. the Eva wants to destroy Rei 2. the Eva wants to absorb Shinji while in the entry plug 3. the Eva wants to destroy Ritsuko |
| from the way i see it, the recap in this episode had it's uses and means to show us how the angels from 3rd to 10th and maybe 11th had only upgraded to be more and more developed. as the recap is rising the topic "the more you destroy them, they getting stronger, and to destroy them getting harder". it may be obvious from watching the series so far, but the recap just making that statement aside. i thought that rei's character gonna open up now. but considering the preview it's seems it will take time lol. |
| Only the first 10 minutes or so are a recap, everything else is stuff you probably wouldn't want to miss, I think. It has Shinji being annoyed with the ceiling after all, so it's probably important to the plot. I think |

| almost skipped throught the whole episode learning that it was a recap but i actually kinda liked it. the second half gave us more stuff that we wouldnt understand lol. whats shinjis dad hiding? |

| I can see the criticism of this episode as Filler. We get some insight in to the coverups of collateral damage along with hints that Gendo and SEELE's scheming may not be totally aligned. Ikari definitely seems like he's planning something, but what? |

| This is the first time I appreciate a recap episode in mu life, by some stroke of luck I'm coming back to the anime after taking a looooong break (this is a rewatch, but still). Apparently even Gendou's plans aren't 100% perfect, which is a relief tbf. It's much more interesting seeing villains adapt their plans around unexpected variables rather than that being part of their plan all along or some stuff like that. |

| Halfway point, so a 'review' isn't exactly surprising. For it's age though the series mangaed to do it in such a way that many newer series screw up on. It was done in such a way that it was other characters reviewing the events; in this case the council, and only took the first half of the episode. That second half though... Something about Unit 02's design means it's completely personalised for Asuka while Unit's 00 and 01 can accept different pilot's (in theory). Double standards that Rei can say the entry plug smells like Shinji, but when he says it smells like Rei, it's incredibly pervy :P Second time Unit 00 has gone crazy and nearly the exact same way each time even with a different pilot. Only guess at Rei being so calm is possily wanting to feel how it was when Ikari was where she was along with the fact that she's so aloof that her being unfazed wasn't surprising. The other comparison note. Shinji got some sort of look into Rei's mind while in her entry plug...but she didn't have a similar experience in his, so what was the cause? Is it the way Unit 00 is built, or is it Rei herself? Also why would Akagi think it was after her? The camera seemed to be intentionally set to make Ikari look like the target in the first incident and then Rei in the second. So what was the true purpose behind getting Rei and Shinji to test the other EVAs? It is obviously being phased as a contingency so that if one pilot is out of action, they can pilot the other's EVA as required, but there is always an ulterior motive. Unit 01 was clearly made in such a way to be designed for Shinji, otherwise he wouldn't have been so compatible with it from the start. But Ikari clearly has plans for Rei. Was Shinji just a platform to get Unit 01 up and running and Rei is intended to be the true pilot for it with that new weapon that's suddenly turned up. Spear of Longinus - spear of the Roman that stabbed Jesus to ensure he was dead. Sticking with the Christian imagery (also strange that thhe angels weren't given names until now). So is this bident named after the 'Holy Spear' intended to be super effective against angels, or is it for something else that Ikari has in mind? |

| I will say, even though this was part recap episode, it did condense what angels we have seen so far and I guess in a way it’s tell us that the angels have evolved since Shinji’s first fight with them and that they get stronger with every new one that shows up. In other words, the angels are adapting to the EVAs in a sense. The second half definitely was interesting, it seems NERV were testing the other EVAs to see if it’s possible to have substitute pilots if something bad were to happen in the event of an emergency. And my god those visions of just Rei smiling like a madman was just creepy to say the least. I think it’s fair to say that we are getting to the part of the show where everything just gets trippy and messed up. So I better keep an eye for anything of that nature in the next couple of episodes because damn what is Rei exactly? |

| Mostly recap, but the new scenes were fundamental for the character of Rei, everything will be clear with the next episodes explainations. and so, Rei is going somewhere with the Spear Of Longinus. |

| I love how cold and clinical this episode feels. Really emphasizes the detached, banal nature of the work both NERV and SEELE do behind the scenes. |

| Actually quite an important episode masked as not so important. There was even some foreshadowing easily dismissed as a dumb joke. The recap part was done quite stylishly, certainly one of the better recaps out there. |
