Amazing end to the series, tbh didn't expected that big timeskip but yeah really heartwarming end. It would had been perfect if they had showed other couples post timeskip as well.

It means nothing. Your goal lies far beyond this. Doesn't it?
I'm sure you'll overcome this.

Tohru calling the pony "Mini Isuzu" had me dead xD

Such a beautiful finale. Each couple got their own portion of screen-time to conclude their respective story and the sequence with Yuki's speech, thanking Tohru for all she has done and telling her just how much she has affected him and the other Ex-Zodiac members was simply perfect. Tohru is indeed an angel and a precious person I would love to have as a friend.
And that final scene... even as grandparents, both Kyou and Tohru continue to act lovey-dovey to each other, huh? Seriously, so adorable I could tear up. I'm just so happy to see her being loved and getting to have the happy family she always deserved.

Man... it's been such a wonderful journey. Fruits Basket is peak shoujo excellence. Its writing and way to handle drama; characters and human interactions is simply fantastic. While watching this series... I felt happy; I felt sad; I felt moved to the point of almost tearing up and also felt my heart being touched by more than one character. Easily of those works that make you feel grateful this kind of media exists.
Seriously, I'm so glad I gave this anime a chance and also thankful to the people who approved this series getting the "Brotherhood" treatment. Especially since Furuba 2001 was a series I never cared about. Not joking, for quite some time I actually thought it was a mere shoujo/reverse harem anime and nothing else.
But as for this remake: Season 1 already left me feeling quite impressed back in 2019; Season 2's directing and perfect execution of drama and angst/comfort content immediately resulted in the anime becoming my 2020 AOTY and this final season, while not reaching the bar its prequel set, was still highly captivating in terms of storytelling and ended up doing a pretty good job at wrapping everything up.

Now... with all this said, the series as a whole still had certain aspects I didn't like or that could have been handled better. Said aspects being:
- Pacing feeling slightly rushed during certain episodes where the studio tried to address too many plot-lines at once. Though being honest, I only felt this way in like... 4 or 5 episodes out of 63, which only shows how outstanding TMS Entertainment's work still was.
- Arisa and Kureno's romance side-plot felt incredibly forced and to this day, I still can't see them as something more than mere acquaintances. Their relationship's foundation is basically the uninspiring "love at first sight" trope and any sign of romantic development between them is almost non-existent. They only had like two or three face-to-face encounters yet it seems that was enough for them to start acting as if they were soulmates. So yeah, sorry but I don't buy that. Especially when you have Yuki and Machi's relationship receiving almost the same amount of screen-time as them yet their bond from strangers to lovers feels far more natural and believable. Slightly rushed but still believable nonetheless.
- For such a relatively important character, Ren sure was forgotten from one moment to another.
- Akito and Shigure ending together feels... weird. Honestly, not really a fan of Shigure's arguably toxic way of "loving". It just leaves a somewhat bad taste in my mouth.

Anyways, still an outstanding series despite these little mishaps.

9/10 - AOTS and AOTY contender without a single doubt. Now looking forward to that "Kyouko and Katsuya" OVA/Movie in 2022!!

Starting off with Kyo and Tohru's first date at the zoo - with Saki and Arisa as wonderful chaperones - gave this episode a light-hearted feel that prepares us for the tearjerker confessions and heartwarming flashbacks that come later on.

Seeing the entire Sohma clan, Tohru, Saki, Arisa, etc begin saying their goodbyes and preparing for the future gives me the same feeling as a proud mother seeing their kid go off to college and becoming a true adult... probably not the best reference but it's all I can come up with at the moment...

Anyhow, I find it truly beautiful how we were able to see every individual character's personal growth come into effect in this finale, and see them fulfilling their wishes and desires into their own futures with little to no regrets.

Overall, I personally enjoyed this entire series as a whole with the lovable and relatable characters, amazing animation and soundtrack, and just with the amazingly written story in general as I was able to whole-heartedly laugh and cry my eyes out throughout the series.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't extremely sad to be seeing the fruits basket franchise coming to a close… but I'm remembering to stay extremely grateful to have witnessed such a series being created. Fruits Basket will, without a doubt, maintain top-tier shoujo for years to come.

And I was wondering who voted "I hated it". It's the YukiXTohru shippers. Yuki has said time and time again that he doesn't see Tohru in a romantic way. You, Isuzu and whoever else can not forgive Akito. Isuzu had if not the worst, one of the worst kinds of abuse from Akito. Others did not and they will able to forgive her. For me, Akito was a victim as well because she was raised as a God and was brainwashed by her parents and the maids as it was made obvious in episode 307.

Also, pls do get your facts straight. Arisa is moving away with Kureno and Hana is just working with Kuzuma, they never said that they are a couple.

Lastly, Kyo saw her as a person. He was the one who saw through her facade, through her brave face, and ALLOWED HER TO BE HERSELF. That went as early as episode 5 of season 1, where he told her "it's ok to be selfish once in a while". He is the only one who didn't want anything from her. Shigure saw her as a way to break the curse, Yuki and most of the zodiacs as a way to get the love they didn't have, but Kyo at first tried to avoid her at any cost and ended up falling for her.

Wasn't me i voted "dislike" and I didn't ship anyone, just the whole "mother" and then him falling in love with that brat rubbed me the wrong way. He found her when she was little and Kyo killed her mom doesn't fate say Yuki gets her? I meant Saki, my mistake. I edited my post to fix it. (and why was that guy in the hall so embarrassed then?)
And then almost killed her (should have, no normal human can take a blow that throws them that far and lives), plus the whole "I killed your mom" thing was eye-rolling.

Kyo didn't kill anyone. He thinks he is at fault, but he never ever killed anyone. The guy at the dojo could be embarrassed because he has a crush on Hana or maybe he was not embarrassed but rather scared of her waves.

You obviously haven't dealt with people who have gone through serious trauma and it shows. Kyo was blamed for his mother suicide and he felt responsible for Kyoko's death too. It doesn't have to be logical.

As for the blow, we have seen Kyo get treated much worse, getting hit with a bigger force and thrown way further and he was OK.

Ugh, my heart is so full. Having read the Manga so many years ago, I'm so happy this adaptation gave us everything and stayed true to the end(unless my memory is off). It's been a dream to experience this remake. Side note, does it deserve to be the best rated anime season on mal? I reluctantly say yes because it's so controversial, but within the context of the series and what we could expect of a shojo romance series, it was incredible at every turn and every episode so 10/10 for me.

So this is farewell then. After 63 episodes, the series has come to an end. I'm just happy that a shoujo like Fruits Basket gets a full anime adaptation which is something rare for a shoujo.

Kyo and Tohru got to grow old with each other. I'm going to miss Tohru's bright personality and how she had impact on every character.

I'm also hyped for the Katsuya and Kyoko's story to be animated.

Wow what a way to end a journey of decades. It was so sweet seeing Tohru and Kyo on their oldies. What a good family they have raised.

I know it was ending but like this is just somehow amiss in my heart. Yuki's independence, true feelings for Tohru, Machi's change for him is something I will never forget. Isuzu's gutted feeling of not being able to forgive Akito but learning to, Momiji's determination to live on better days as learned from Kyo and Hattori's flight into the free world. All these are inspiring for ages to come.

Damn gonna miss this show. Made me cry, laugh, aspire, wrath and jealousy all in these form childhood to adult. Truly a masterpiece.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

I really liked season 1 and I thought season 2 had really good moments in it. I was just massively dissatisfied with season 3 and how it handled various characters. There was virtually no accountability for bad actors and way too much victim blaming that I found extremely offensive.

3/10 from me which is a shame since I was originally high on the series.

I KNOW he didn't geez just him blaming himself and "forgetting" it and that being the reason for his and Yuki's animosity was what was eye rolling.

Oh really? I assure you you know nothing about me, and if you think this show is an accurate depiction of people dealing with serious trauma you are a fool.

This is the most emotional ive got since ive started watching anime or shows in general. The emotion i felt during the last episode when everything came to an end is undescribable for me. I was so happy for them yet so sad that everyone is moving on with their life. Not seeing them doing silly things in their house every week is so sad to think about.
Im really glad i found this anime, when honda reflected on her life how happy she was during that time and how sad she is now - i instantly reflected on that with me and this show. Ive never cried during an entire episode before especially not for two different reasons, being happy for them that they are all finally happy together and being sad that everything comes to an end now.

I dont know if my sentences make any sense since im writing them while tears are running down my face but i hope they will.

That is not what the scene is portraying at all.. It's the opposite actually, that her feelings are valid
In the manga it is a bit more clear cause this rin conversation about akito happens with her and tohru and tohru responds with "it's OK" and "there's nothing wrong with that"

I was like "please, please, give me that!". Then I got that little cutie granddaughter. OMG.

All I know is that I went back to the middle of the episode so I wouldn't have to think about the anime ending. Some hope, Ig. It'll always be incomplete to me, hahaha. But it was such a great anime.

The Ending was super weird, like they time skipped way too far, and the granddaughter calling them by their first names? The pacing in general for the last few episodes just didn't feel natural at all. Went from a 9 to an 8, still pretty enjoyable overall.

I get that you are dissatisfied with Akito's conclusion,as in with her getting off easy but no one said or implied that for Rin???

The point is Rin has every right to not forgive Akito for the things she did to her.. Others might forgive like tohru, kureno (who are special cases), others like yuki (and some others on the cast) might have a more neutral stance

Everyone can have a different response and that is completely fine

Kyo hated Yuki because he needed someone to blame and if you remember the first Zodiac story, it was the rat who lied to the cat and tricked her, so Yuki was the easy target. Just like Haru hated Yuki when he was a little because the rat used the ox. Have we been watching the same anime?

Right? I think they wanted us to see that their love was strong, not only for a little time, but for a lifetime.

But still. I knew there is going to be a scene with a child, but when this Tohru-looking girl ask "mum" where is "Tohru and Kyo" I was like "wtf...?".
I didn't expect they will show them us as grandparents.

True, but hard to blame her for that, since she was always acting and dressing as a guy and didn't really have a chance to be interested in female fashion.

To be fair this ep was good and the one where Kyo tells Tohru about her mother's death. BUT the whole season was rushed. Given a bit more ep to Machi and others as in previous seasons it would have been perfect. Honestly, I am happy and I love this show, but I am a bit disappointed.

This show is simply an unforgettable masterpiece, it will always have a special place in my heart. To see this show finally come to an end is very sad, but we got to see a beautiful ending and an amazing story come to an end. This show is much more than a mere shoujo anime, it introduced different topics, emotions, relationships, and overall a wonderful experience. I love how many people will enjoy the show from a different perspective whilst relating to different characters all based on their personal life and experience. even though it's the same show, we end up getting different flavors. however, I wished they made more episodes showing the farewell and goodbyes thoroughly- it's not a big deal tho. the art style-stunning, the theme-amazing, the plot- powerful and heart-warming, music-euphonious. a 10/10! it gave me a great sense of satisfaction seeing their curses and bonds finally break and actually seeing them be free. I'm going to miss this show and prob re-watch it in the future someday. + seeing it get fully adapted is all I need tbh ahah

It's so nice to see a series conclude properly with a full adaptation. It's such a rarity. I really loved the reboot overall. Despite always being partial to Yuki over Kyo I was satisfied with how things progressed with their relationships with Tohru over the course of the series. A few of the cuts and adaptation choices as well as a few odd story beats and some strangely absent characters that could've used more screen time held the series back from being nearly perfect for me, but those are minor issues in an otherwise fantastic series and solid adaptation of a classic manga. It gets a 9/10 from me.

I watched the first anime more than a decade ago and I absolutely loved it but I could have never imagined how deep the story could get. It's been a beautiful ride with lots of tears and lots of smiles.
I used to find Tohru quite annoying at first but I learnt to appreciate her character and I wouldn't want her any different. I also used to ship Yuuki x Tohru real hard but I came to accept that they weren't meant for each other. I really like how Yuuki's love for Tohru was portrayed. It is not very often we come across such depiction of motherly love with Yuuki understanding the nature of his love at the end. It was beautifully done.
While I'm very happy every character is getting their shot at happiness (even you Akito), I can't help but be the happiest for Hatori who's always been my favorite. This guy needs a break and lots of love. I'm all for Hatori x Mayu !!!
Also, going back to Rin's point regarding Akito, I tend to agree with her and I am glad she pointed it out. Thinking about it, it's indeed unfair to have Akito roaming freely living her life while she scarred everyone one way or another. I'm sure nobody is forgetting that but what can they do apart from focusing on their newfound happiness ?
Finally that last scene showcasing Kyo and Tohru ending up together and being grandparents filled me with extreme joy - one I didn't experience from an anime in quite some time. Man they made it !!!! They made me crave that life for real.

Farewell Furuba I love you T-T

It was an amazing ride!! We all knew how the ending goes but the adaptation exceeded my expectations ❤️ I love how we FINALLY saw a colored version of Tohru’s “shrine” 😂 I’m selfishly hoping the author would release more Fruits Basket related stuff (aside Another) — one shot maybe about how Kyo proposed or about their wedding or how the other zodiacs are doing 🤔 Dying to see Kyo and Tohru as husband and wife and as Grandparents.

I love the ending credits in the anime as it showed images of the zodiacs moving on and happy. Just wanna put this out there — Hatori deserves 1000% happiness.

Fruits Basket will always have a special place in my heart. I don't usually write reviews but Fruits Basket deserves one for being so well written, relatable, and heartwarming. Ah~ I can’t wait to watch it again and again. I’m gonna miss Fruits Basket soooo much.. I think I’m having anime withdrawals lol. 🥲 Regardless of how others think Fruits Basket is overrated, one can never deny that it’s a timeless masterpiece. It deserves all the HYPE!! ❤️‍🔥 Someday when I have kids of my own, I’ll definitely re-watch this anime with them.

Goodbye. Til our next banquet! 🤝

While I enjoyed this final season as a whole, I felt Yuki and Machi's relationship, as well as his friendship with Kakeru was very rushed. I was also disappointed that they didn't explore Kakeru's whole dynamic with Tohru, They didn't even show Komaki. I mean I understand that things had to be cut, but I always found it really interesting in the manga.

Furuba(Fruits Basket) had a big meaning to me, the history of each character made me think about a lot of things that happened in my life and to people close to me, and thinking about those things is what make me love this anime. All the philosofies and messages that this show showed to me will be never forgeted.

Finally, the last episode. A satisfying ending, it gave closure to all of the characters. Love the bonds and chemistry they all have. There are so many couples lol, such a shame that the anime didn't have enough time to develop all of them. I also would've really loved to see the send-off for Kyo and Tohru, but we can't have everything. Also wow, the sudden time-skip threw me off. They're grandparents now?!? That was unexpected. Still made me smile seeing their backs at the end, glad the two got the happy future they deserve.

I'm definitely going to miss this show. I never dreamed this series would ever get such a beautiful, spectacular, full adaptation since Fruits Basket (2001) was one of my first ever anime I watched, yet here we are. This show will forever hold a special place in my heart. Probably an unpopular opinion, but S2 is still my favorite. For this season alone, I had a few issues with it and I feel like certain parts were very rushed, but I still very much enjoyed it. Solid 8/10. I'll probably check out the manga to see what content was skipped. Excited to see Kyoko's backstory next year!

Fruits basket is one of those shows that I'm going to treasure for a very long time. The characters, their relationships, the sheer depth of emotions are unforgettable. And every now and then I'm going to listen to the gorgeous ost and smile knowing that I've watched something legendary as it aired and ended. Definitely going to try a re-watch cycle every year or two. Fruba frens, thank you so much for the comments and reacts and the community feels. I'm grateful this show exists. It's been a great one.

To me the verdict was already set 1-2 episodes ago, this season is a masterpiece.
Not to say the whole series, but the delivery here is truly tremendous.

I already thought S1 was a slow burn that when you keep on it, becomes something special, building solid foundations of the casting and the world, with S2 introducing some new characters and developing all the implications seen in S1 much further.

In essence, season 2 is extraordinary for the mood it setups, you start to see characters differently, and when you think about it, the plot isn't really that special put on paper, but it is slowly but surely execution, the time is given to let things settle in and be revealed that makes it special.

By the end of season 2, you are deeply in the drama, and while I wish season 3 had more episodes, the faster pacing allowed for nonstop fuckery, things are definitely taken FURTHER in the final season, after season 2 reveal, this one had a lot to live up to, and it starts out strong and never lets it go.

I expected Akito to change and in the end, was fine with it, the development all the casting gets on S3 the cherry on top of what they got slowly with S1+S2, episode 9 is the BIG climax, before that every episode was already delivering nonstop fuckery, but what episode 9 was the finest of them all.
And then you get 4 more episodes to at length wrap things up, and these last 4 episodes were also special, you are not left feeling like something was not addressed, this series had such a huge range and diversity of characters, and 90% were definitely endearing to me at some point, and seeing everything coming together like this, with a nice epilogue for Kyo and Tohru was great!

Not to forget all the other couples, like Machi x Yuki or Rin x Haru, I think the faster pacing cut some time screen for them here, so again, a few more episodes would have been welcomed, but in the end, I was very satisfied with where things ended up.

OST has some really outstanding songs, but I feel most of them were forgettable, and the OP for S3 was MEH, but I definitely dug the ED, S1+S2 had some amazing OP/EDs and others that just felt meh, OP for Final's definitely felt like one of the ones that made less sense with what the season was going for IMO, the song was trash.

In the end, I realize I had never given a pure shoujo show a 10/10, sorry but not even Clannad AF deserved it (9.4), but as a whole, S3 was the culmination of something amazing, where I had lots of time to come to like and be invested in these characters, and I cried through the seasons, not only in 1-2 moments, and unlike Clannad, Tohru was far from the dull and uninspiring Nagisa, there weren't only 2-4 characters I was invested here...

To me Fruits Basket The Final Season is definitely 10/10.
For me to care, to be this invested in such a big casting, that the final outing made such an impression on me, if there have to be a 10/10 series for this genre, this final season is definitely what comes to mind in what ends up accomplishing.

And I have to give my perspective of being an anime-only, never cared to read the manga due to the poor art, and I delayed watching the original anime forever due to also the art, and also hearing it wasn't a good adaptation... this remake WAS the remake this series needed to reach out to a whole new generation and I m happy to have had the opportunity to be part of this and see it doing so much success, <3 Tohru and all the rest of this great casting!

9.6/10 = 10

PS: A Fruits Basket another adaption would be fire, if not, I may end up reading it since it feels at least less dated than the original and is not a long one, and I want to see more of the future for a lot of the boys and gals~~

It's kind of hard to say anything. Three seasons, the first two of which were two cours, and all of it so full of deep and amazingly written stories. It's just mind-numbing. And to think that this is one of THE shoujos out there, after so many years from when it was first published to this series, the time and size scale are just a bit overwhelming. So in the end, all I can really say about the entire series was that it was amazing. It was a long ride full of happy moments, sad moments, bittersweet moments. It was more than that: it was an experience. One of the best anime series out there. I loved it, and I will never forget it.

I was really happy to see Yuki finally saying his true feelings to Tohru, how she was the one who made him who he is today, and how he saw her as his mother. I was squealing in my heart and happy for them too.

I was expecting to see Tohru and Kyo as parents with their children, but what we got instead (no less lovely of course!) was their grandchild, along with her parents. I'm guessing that's their daughter-in-law, and that orange-haired guy is their son? I wish we could've seen more of Tohru and Kyo's family. Glad that they're still lovey dovey even in old age ^^

As many others have said, this series was a juggernaut shoujo, and no words can truly express how sad I am that it is ending, and what a void it is leaving in my heart. I really wish this final season was 2 cours, since I'm sure they cut out some parts from the manga. Never once have I felt Fruits Basket waste our time with an episode, and I have that faith too if they had made this season 2 cours, but alas it was not to be.

But I don't have much to complain. As an anime-only, this season was amazing. I think more people need to watch Fruits Basket. It is a modern classic, a masterpiece. It should go in the hall of fame of animes of all time. And even then, I think, it would not be enough.

10/10. No words can truly express how much I love this series, how grateful I am that it exists. And I hope more people can see that too.

Goodbye, Fruits Basket. Goodbye, Tohru, Kyo, Yuki, Machi, Arisa, Haki. Goodbye to all the zodiacs, to all the Somas, and to everyone in the lives of our main characters. I am going to miss you all.

I guess I'll pick up the manga at some point. And maybe even rewatch all three seasons.

2 days after, I still get a tear out of my face every awake hour whenever I think about this series. I'm not a Shoujo anime fan, this affected me more than I ever expected and I love it so much

Aww, I thought there would be a scene of them leaving, but Yuki telling his feelings to Tohru being the last scene of them is more than satisfying.

Emptiness has already arrived

The characters are the ones I really loved the most about the series. I was so attached to them that it's very sad to think that it's now time to say goodbye to them 😞

I feel like crying now, damn.

MANNNN, seeing all the characters finally clear up their loose ties and feelings in this episode was so sweet.

Kyo and Tohru as cute as ever, but what was really good in this episode was Yuki finally telling Tohru how he feels. That was so good and made me smile so hard.

The ending scene was perfect. Nothing else to say other than that it was perfect.

Once in an era show, loved watching it.

I guess it's arrived, the void that ultimately comes when you finally finish a masterpiece. Fruits Basket has become one of my favorite series in these last three years so it's sad to see it end, but its ending was satisfying.

Hopefully this leads to more shoujo being adapted, not to mention fully adapted ones. I haven't had the most experience with the demographic yet but I can only imagine the amount of amazing stories that fly under the radar all the time.

An absolute masterpiece. Back in 2017, when I had first seen the manga page for Fruits Basket with high rating, I thought that it must be another generic shoujo manga with lot of cliches and platitudinous plots. Oh boy, how wrong I was. I am extremely grateful that the entire manga was adapted, and I will remember it forever in my life.
