Jigen's technique was explained. He can shrink things and himself. It was so hard to hit him because he absorbs all jutsus with his karma and shrinks him self to avoid any physical attack. They also explained how his chakra rods "appear out of nowhere", he launches them when they're too small to even be visible and when they hit the target he reverse them to their normal size

As for sasuke's chakra: it was stated many times that sasuke's teleportation through portals consumes a lot of chakra and if i'm not mistaken he said during the momoshiki arc that it consumes almost third of his chakra. He already opened 2 of them before coming to fight jigen and was preserving chakra to use the last one to run, so he was fighting by using around 10% of his chakra or even less
and don't forget how his rinnengan is always active and consumes chakra just like kakashi's rinnegan and how he was hit many times by jigen's rods which absorb chakra too. So it's already a great feat to be able to use all the justus we've seen in the ep despite all of that

I agree with this. They couldn't move in the last scene so he probably could've done that. It seemed that he reached his limit though so it's kinda excusable but i anyway it's just for the plot


I think that you're underestimating jigen a lot. He absorbs all ninjutsu, he shrinks himself or uses a teleportation portal whenever he is cornered by a physical attack , he is fast and so good at taijutsu, he absorbed a portion of juubi's chakra before fighting and his iron rods absorb chakra. He's literally invincible

Yes, the presence of naruto and sasuke as the saviors of the world who defeat every strong enemy will keep the stakes low so they had to introduce someone stronger than them and they'll probably find a way to reduce their role since they're outshining the new generation
