Part 5> Part 3 = Part 4> Part 2 > Part 1 Part 4 takes like 15 episodes to pick up pace also it didn't really feel like a 'bizarre adventure'. For me its rating gets carried by its last few episodes which were the best last few episodes jojo had to offer. |

All parts alone have simple plot and whole story is about fighting with nameless, bland villans who do not take any part in the storyline, they just fight because god Dio or Kira told them to or for money, etc. Titles spoils you ending of every episode, when the title says part 1, you already know that the fight with the current antagonist will be extended into two episodes, without part 1 he gonna lose in one episode. Characters and power system are nice, but rest... I can't understand praise for this show, someone should explain to me. The best you can say about any part of Jojo and its sadly true, for example part 3, you can watch first 5 episodes, then skip 35 episodes in the middle, watch last 8 and you will understand whole story without lose anything XD. |

Personally I loved the format, the switch to and from episodic was very smooth. I actually loved that this part was longer, the longer the better. Part 3 fights had some really good fights too(Don't get me wrong, all the parts had good fights, but part 3 had some REALLY good ones), it also had moments that made me laugh the most. I don't think part 3 is trash or even bad, I loved it, though I will admit later parts did things better than it. |

I have only watched the first season. Why do I hate JoJo ? First, I hated JoJo even before watching it, why ? Because I had seen fights and dialogues between the characters before I started it, thanks to Youtube and Facebook. So I knew before starting it that JoJo is super childish, have really bad fights. Why is the fights bad, you may ask. Well, no one needs to know what the main character just did. You don't need pause a fight 500x times to just explain what he or she just did. You don't need to add in comedy in a battle shounen that destroys the little world buidling it has. Comedy is shit, the fight is shit. If we could make JoJo darker and remove the comedy, yeah. I would like it then. But as it is now, I will never watch more then part 1. As it's one of the worst Anime experience I have so far. But I know people like what I hate, and that's why JoJo is as popular as it is. Because people enjoy the comedy aspect of the serie and how the characters fights. But I'm not one of those, that's why I hate the serie. |

Chandela said: This is an anime only thing. They did it to make it easier on the Voice Actors apparently. In the Manga they were leaping using their stands similar to Jotaro in the Geb fight. Hope this helps.Because they randomly gain the power of flight at the end of Part 3 and it's never addressed/explained and when asked for clarification the fandom goes "ITS JOJO, YOU EXPECT IT TO MAKE SENSE???" as if nothing to that point was cohesive at all. |

I am surprised that someone might not notice this, the whole of part 3 and half of part 4 was that there was an antaogynist every one or two episodes that was irrelevant to the plot because a character who appears for one episode just to fight one of the protagonists cannot be important to the story. The episode titles spoil whether the bad guy will lose in one episode or it will take two to complete him (part 1 near to title means that its gonna be two episodes villan and you know it from the start). The only important antagonists who have any significance for the plot are those who lead the rest from the shadows, but let's take a Dio for example, in the first 40 episodes of part 3 he got maybe 10 minutes of screen time and actually appeared only at the end. Dio was angry that his companions did not appreciate the strenght of Jostar's family, but having a group of subordinates himself, he decided to send them one by one so that each would be defeated. One of the most schematic anime I have seen considering individual parts separately. Just name one good antagonist from part 3, they are all Dio pets without own goals. |

People hate Jojo for a lot of reasons: - The first 3 parts are pretty average. - It's weird. - The fandom is very toxic. (The Jojo references) - Part 3, 4 and 5 are just the gang vs. random stand users --> the gang vs. the final villain, it gets boring. Of course, I don't hate Jojo, it's one of my favorite Shōnen out there. Also, here's how I rate the parts: Part 5 > Part 4 > Part 2 > Part 3 > Part 1 |

I haven't seen any jojo, though I don't know why anyone would have a problem with the character designs, they look pretty fun to me. But if you're not a fan, it's pretty annoying to see all the "is this a jojo reference?" etc stuff on things that have nothing to do with Jojo in the first place. I remember the Hetalia fandom being similar ~10 years ago, they kept bringing Hetalia up literally everywhere and people were pretty annoyed by it. |

I really don't understand any of the hype around Jojo. None of the characters seem interesting to me so far aside from maybe Kakyoin. I don't appreciate the structured, monster of the week narrative of part 3. The entirety of part 2 felt like it was crudely fabricated and boring. So far the raw manliness and daring progression of Phantom Blood has actually impressed me the most, which I'm aware is an extremely unpopular take. The show is also pretty weird (bizarre if you will), and not in a good way. Its weird in a way that leaves me feeling awkward and uncomfortable. I can expand on any of these points but based on what I've seen so far I'm not even considering picking the series back up after finishing part 3. This show does not deserve the attention it gets IMO. |

Maybe you're not just into the villain of the week format of format, and the episodic feel of part 3. The part 4 antagonists in the first half are all connected though, they all progressed the the story. I never actually paid much attention to the episode titles and when I did I really didn't mind it, you still don't know what happens. Dio's power is meant to be a mystery for the part, he managed to get a lot of strong users to pledge allegiance and fight for him, it emphasizes the grandeur of his stand and power greatly. when Dio does show up the show is spectacular. It was Enya who convinced Dio to not take care of the gang himself, he really did think of taking care of himself as they were preventing him from having peace of mind. The part 3 villains were mostly free to do as they please, they all had their own goals. The D,arby brothers are my favorite minor antagonists in part 3, they're very interesting with how they collect the souls of people they beat in bets, just to get some sick thrill. |

I really like Jojo, but I can understand why a lot of people may not be into this series. Because: Jojo doesn't emphasize character development or story as much as most anime. Most episodes of Jojo are 90% characters fighting. And while the fights themselves I think tend to be great, it can get tiring; especially when 40% of the fights are characters explaining their attacks and reacting to each others' attacks. Granted, given how complex the fights tend to be, the explanations are necessary. But there are rarely any meaningful, dialogue moments, or important plot points to keep track of. The characters themselves tend to be extremely flat. I mean, most of the dialogue is just characters yelling, exposition, or talking just to move the plot along. Granted, each part of Jojo slowly emphasizes character and story more, especially in Parts 7 & 8. But I feel they're still lacking, compared to other anime. Jojo kind of reminds me of Berserk in that both series heavily rely on shock value; in the case of Jojo, the shock value being how hilarious bizarre things can get, while in Berserk, it's how horrifying and disturbing a scene can be. But Berserk also has lots of rich worldbuilding, storytelling, and character development, that Jojo still kind of lacks. S5-Astraea said: Some people just can't stand certain things. Most of the time, they don't know why and reasons they tell you are just what they can identify at the surface level. I advise OP not to think too hard on this. I mean, most people in real life don't want to waste their time analyzing a piece of media to justify their feelings for it; it's (rightfully) annoying. @Nillwas I believe that 99% of good anime don't start off bad. But I mean this when I say Jojo is the exception: Part 1 is eh. But Part 2 and onwards, is a completely different experience. I recommend watching just the 1st ep of Part 2, to see what I mean. If you don't like it, drop it, I say. But if you do like the 1st ep of Part 2, I recommend continuing to watch it. |

I don't think people hate JoJo as much as they hate the fanbase which is fair as it is obnoxious at times. But, your kinda hyper-focusing on the negative considering it is one of the most popular and beloved manga/anime of all time. Even people who don't consider themselves "anime fans" love it. |

The fanbase ruined for everyone, let's be honest. It's not a show for everyone, it's really campy and takes itself really seriously with always being extremely serious and off the wall. I think part 3 is weak going back to it, it has more episodes than it needs to and the stand battles don't really compare to the other parts. Which makes sense since it was the first part with stand battles. Also: 6=7, 4=5, 1,2,3 |
