I have a lot of things to say...geez. The end of the 2nd season of Re:Zero...and I'm happy.
It's been a journey to get here, but right now at the finish line, I could say...that I had one of the most hell of a time in an anime.

I can't describe how much happy and great things I've seen in this episode alone, from Beatrice & Subaru defeating the rabbits, to the scene where Emilia thought she had a baby (HA that made me burst), Roswaal being beaten up until he finally swear his (inescapable) allegiance, Subaru being knighted by Emilia, and the two having expressed their love to each other in the balcony.

We also got to see Echidna's true face, and I was expecting worse, but she kinda looked like Roswaal, and in an extent Asta from Black Clover. What else...oh Ram is still asleep, Frederica taking the alcohol away from Garfiel (that's sweet & funny), Roswaal & Ryuzu having that good ol' cheers with their drinks, Petra & Beatrice having a dance, we got introduced to Annerose, and...I'm just really happy.

That's it for Re:Zero, we hope to the anime deities, that we're gonna get the 3rd Season. Because this 2nd season has been one of the most thrilling, emotional, charming, and overall a fantastic ride. Compared to the first part of season 2, this part will be much more closer to being a 10/10 for me. It was never been easy (especially for Re:Zero) for me to give an anime a 10/10, but hopefully this second part will guarantee its spot to one of my special groupings in my anime list.

That's it...now I'm gonna go ahead and cry, don't mind me.

The fact that I can sum up most of these characters in like, 1 sentence, makes them uninteresting to me. If throwing a melodramatic backstory makes a character interesting for you, then more power to you; but for me, it's not enough.

Kazuma is a frustrated virgin who is surrounded by idiots.

Saber is an idealist who is unable to accept the mistakes in her life.

Shinji is a boy who seeks approval from others because he is unsure of himself.

ALL characters can be summed up in one sentence.

To them, Subaru has accomplished a lot. Helping take down the cult, defeat the whale, defeat the rabbits, helping free the sanctuary, etc. So yes, he is worthy of a knight title. Also, 95% of what huge cast? The main cast got developed this season. If you're referring to the other candidates and stuff, they aren't gone forever lol

That's...not how knighthood goes, though. Knights become knights after years of training. And Subaru didn't do all that by himself.
I'm talking about all the characters in Re: Zero, including the ones in season 1. The overwhelming majority of characters are one dimensional.

No knight could do what Subaru could. And he is a knight of Emilia, not of the royal guard.
He just needs to be recognized by Emilia.

Saber is an idealist who is unable to accept the mistakes in her life.

Shinji is a boy who seeks approval from others because he is unsure of himself.

Shinji is also very shy, afraid of getting close to others in fear of being hurt. Shinji also matures by the end of the story, accepting humanity and its faults, deciding he will try to do what he can to get close to others. Saber tends to also be stoic, calm, with a very strong sense of justice. She eventually accepts her past, instead of trying to change it.
Kazuma is also a very direct person, to an assholeish point, a pervert, but he has some sense of moral; as he has helped other people, and one point refused to take a reward because Aqua caused trouble.

I think I should've added in my post that: a lot of the characters in Re: Zero don't have any meaningful screen time. Most of the times, when a new character is introduced, (like Emilia), they aren't developed until a much, MUCH longer time later. It's terrible writing. And the fans defend this by saying, "Well, character X will get developed eventually." Then the creator shouldn't have introduced that character to begin with, until much later. Re: Zero is not a biography; the creator was free to arrange the story however he wanted.

Or in the case of Beatrice, she's introduced all the way back in season 1, but her personality is so one note, on dimensional, and she has such little screentime (none of which I found meaningful), and she's not entertaining, that when her big dramatic scene comes in season 2, I don't care. Nor do I find most of these characters particularly entertaining to make up for their lack of complexity (like in the case of Konosuba).

Aside from Emilia, none of these characters feel like real people to me; they're either too flat, or too quirky, or both. Yet, this series tries SO hard to get me to care about them, by constantly putting their lives in danger. It's cheap.

I don't understand why fans try so hard to defend every single apperent flaw of this series. Jojo fans accept the series is VERY flawed, but still love it.

Echidna's actual face looks similiar to the Echidna that appeared before. There isn't much difference.
The noticable difference is that Echidna looks 28+ in the tomb while the Tea Party Dona is 19.
Her original face is more beautiful.

White Fox will probably fix her face in BD realease.

This season was a 6/10 for me. I didn't enjoy the info dumps, particularly from characters I don't care about. Like, the gradnma girl with the clones. Did we need to know her backstory? Couldn't they have used some other means to create a barrier, instead of creating a wholly disposable character that I prob won't see ever again?

The plot itself got stuck big time, because the author wanted to provide a backstory for the current events. Which is fine, but take 24 episodes to do it, while simultaneously introducing new characters and their backstories as well? Thank you but that's too long and frankly not that interesting. The plot from the first season barely moved an inch.

I think the disconnect here is that some people have read the story and know it gets better, or it makes sense to introduce new characters because they will be relevant later on. Unfortunately I haven't read the LN, so I can tell you, based only on what was showed in the anime, that this is was very weak season as it stands.

You do you I guess. I respect your opinion but disagree. Also the author didn't forget about any of the characters. The sanctuary arc is a side arc for development. We don't need Priscilla or Crusch here for this but they are still relevant. Just because we deviated from the royal selection and stuff for a season doesn't make it "messy" and it still flows perfectly well. Also several arcs? They are absent for 1 arc. That's it.

That was a really sweet ending. I found it funny that Puck told Emilia that you get pregnant by kissing, a nice cute cliche.

If we get a third season announcement, I imagine we will focus on trying to get the memories of Rem back and the happy vibes at the end of this episode will not last for too long, considering the Witch Cult is involved with retrieving Rem's memories.

I do love her face in the Tea Party, what I noticed from what I see is that she has a sharper nose and she looks much more older in the coffin with her face being more oblong, if you catch my drift.

Many characters suffered throughout S2 so seeing all of them so happy and just enjoy the aftermath of an earned victory is amazing and I felt like I could cry lol. I'm just so happy for Subaru and so proud of the man he is becoming (including honoring his parents) and Beatrice is so sweet (her dancing with Petra oh my gosh).

Seeing the ending credits made me kind of anxious though because there is no official announcement for a third season yet.

Man this season was done so well. White fox already did an exemplary job with season 1, but here it felt like they REALLY knew what they were doing. Shit felt cinematic. 7/10. There’s so much more story left, but you gotta be happy with what we got for now, which was damn solid. Hope we don’t have to wait another 4 years to continue the story.

Who knew the upgraded version of Shamac can seal creatures in a pocket-space of darkness? That's pretty broken!

The real Echidna's face sits well with me. Why would someone in the pursuit of knowledge look like a Goddess? Because it was an idealized version of her!

I loved the resolution, things are going well, The characters have become closer and Subaru has gained more allies. The Emilia Camp is probably going to be a literal Elite Squadron at the end of this story.

Loved the episode, the way Beako handled the rabbits was fucking genius. I would almost think it anti-climatic if it were not such a pro gamer move. Also love the scene of everyone punching Roswal to get payback that had to have been Subaru's idea. Also a good way to forgive him and bring him into the fold and have it not feel awkward or forced (On a side note, did Echidna's face always look like that? She looked different in the coffin and Roswal's flashback? Is she older there and simply choose a younger form when in the Castle of Dreams as to try and win over Subaru?). I felt like they skipped a scene between the aftermath and the knighting of Subaru which both caught me off guard but also felt right, considering he has so far taken down two great mabeasts, saved Roswal's domain twice, Emilia once, and had a hand in freeing the sanctuary, if anyone deserves knighthood it's him. My only regret with the show is the fact he barely used his new authority, he used it once on Garf but that's it. I hope if (hopefully when) we get a season 3 he delves into training it or something especially if he isn't going to rely on his return by death. All and all wonderful sequel and can't wait for more.

Also what a ending title card. That's going to be my wallpaper for weeks

Subaru has one of the best skills of all, being where he needs to be, and helping where he needs to help. His return from the dead served him to earn the recognition of three factions. Because they only remember the "good" route where he proposes and arranges everything, everyone understands that it is good luck, but it is so much that it no longer seems a coincidence, as in the case of Ram, she realized that he is always where he should be to help, even if he seems a useless or weak person, he ends up being useful. And except for Rem and Crusch; Subaru has failed very little. There is nothing strange about him being recognized as a knight. And if you want to give him a profession. He could be the best commander.

Okay, so... OMG!!!!! This one was everything I was expecting as a WN reader. Disappointed up to a certain point that they didn't animate that last scene but it's not such a big deal. Maybe we'll get it at the start of Season 3 like what happened with Gluttony eating Rem's memories.

This little interaction was soo cute!

This was also really good! OMG, she used the MAX Shamac Spell

CURSED!

Soo cute!

Awwwww, fucking wholesome I Suppose!

They finally explained it!

We finally get to see Echidna's original face. She's still pretty tbh!
Also, her expression looks more "human" in here!

Flustered Emilia, flustered Emilia, flustered Emilia!

Innocent Emilia! Once you think about it, she was willing to habe Subaru's baby, which adds a LOT more weight to the Kiss of Life scene!

HIT THE CLOWN! CHOP HIM INTO PIECES!
I miss they didn't include Subaru doing the same with a log (WN) lmaooo

If Subaru had lost, he couldn't have returned by death and changed it!

Petra :( I'm siding with her!

OMG! Look at them!
I wanted to see Frederica in a dress tho!

He finally made it!

ChadBaru!

This was soooo freaking amazing, cute and wholesome!

10/10 Fucking Amazing! My man Subaru & Best Girl Beako deserve this moment of happiness.

Now, lastly I wanted to address the haters. I mean, where are all these 1 star episode reviews coming from? are they all bots? toxic people like what happened with AoT? Rem fans? (if they are, ohh boy they will jump off a cliff when they realize that

I love the characters, thats why i give this season a 10/10, thats all that I can say. Beatrice, otto, emilia, and garfiel, approved!

This season may not have the peaking actions or some crazy plot twist like s1 did, but the development of each character are hella good,I believe season 3 will show how much our cast has change compared to season 1, and thats never gonna happen without everything in season 2. Thats why I love Re:Zero, its taking its time to progress and yet we still have many mysteries to unveil. Well, in one word, masterpiece.

...I don't know what to say about this series.... They managed to wrap that ending up in a pretty little bow despite every other season end of re:Zero as far as I can recall that it almost seems like they aren't going to air more despite it being popular series.

But of course there is poor Rem...while Subaru is being happy with Emilia poor Rem....
I also have to wonder if all of this will just become nulled if Subaru somehow accidentally dies and resets....I have to wonder where his new 'checkpoint' is now...

So...guess what I'm trying to say is...as an anime-only watcher I feel like this is a complete cop-out in that it's trying to wrap everything up nicely but there are loose ends hanging everywhere but they're choosing to sweep it under the rug. I feel like the studio is assuming I'm blind or forgetful or something and it kind of leaves a bad taste. Especially since there's no immediate confirmation that the series will continue and that said "loose ends" will ever be addressed...

Just realized that ever since when they kissed, from Emilia’s perspective she agreed to let Subaru impregnate her when she accepted his kiss

can you explain this omega part? I'm reading the WN but I paused for a bit after the chapter where emilia was having her 3rd trial so now I think I'll just start the next arc so...

Incredible way to end an already amazing season. This gets a 10/10 from me and goes to my favorites. The ending was absolutely gorgeous and they also played Long Shot again! Prolly the 2nd or 3rd time? Lol. I was expecting ReAlize to play for spoiler reasons but alright this is great too. Gonna miss my weekly 30 minute dosages of quality now, hope they announce S3 quick. I seriously can't wait already.

So, Subaru uses magic support VS Big Chungus, then has been officially elected as
emilia's personal gigasimp, Roswaal Brando is actually Orochimaru then beated by
everyone and Betty is no longer tsundere with Subaru BUT REMU-CHAN IS STILL
THE SLEEPING BEAUTY OF THE SITUATION T-T So is a common thing for best
girls here like Echidna too, we'll see in June what will happen to the series...
-or just read the LN 6 arc-

Feel pain, think about pain, accept pain, know pain... Shinra Tensei!

So they banish the demon bunnies to the shadow realm lol

Can we all take a moment to appreciate

1) How adorable Emilia was when she was talking to Subaru about how babies are made when a boy and a girl kiss. Then Subaru cursing Puck.
2) Our best boy Otto, drunk and passed out on the table.

Was hoping Emilia would finally confess to Subaru during this episode. It's clear how she feels about him.

I really hope for a season 3. We still need Rem to come back.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but what's up with the 26% 1/5 votes?
That would be some freak testing out his bot army. He’s not very bright though and with luck MAL will squish his bots.
