I don't know if it was better than the previous but it was too predictable. The transformation was too fast and only last 5 minutes, it was obvious Shinoa will not get stabbed and nobody will die. Another bad episode, just the transformation time was decent.

If it is predictable, then what's gonna happen the next episode?

Nothing probably. Vamps are apparently outnumbered, can't see them wanting to fight anymore

Interesting episode. Wasn't bad and had some much needed plot movement. As far as animation goes, I really don't care that some parts were better than others. Not all anime has great animation all the time
I liked how protective Mika was. I don't really understand the hate he receives at this point because the way he acts and his reasons for acting that way all seem realistic. Although he could have explained himself a bit more thoroughly. He seemed way too vague, but regarding the situation I guess it's not that far fetched, Yuu's hesitation was also realistic.
I also see people complaining about the "convenient" power boost Yuu received, this anime is two cour and everything hasn't been explained yet, what is the rush? Enjoy the show.

Hey now he is awesome Ferid is truly a MikaxYuu shipper because of all the things he says. He is one of my fav characters now he also reminds me of Tsukiyama from Tokyo Ghoul. Everyone goes crazy when it comes to shipping.

Quoted for truth. The animation is so bad that it makes the anime so-so. I'm not expecting an animation like FSN but it's just so bad. Watching this is killing me. Just one more episode and it's done.

It's not minor. Animation is the life of anime. The plot comes in the manga, LN and VN. But if the animation isn't good in the Anime, then there's no enjoyment. :/

How come it's minor!? Anime comes from the word animation itself. It's basically the frontend. Even Yu Yu Hakusho from the 90s has smoother animation than this anime, which is around 20 years ago.

I'm actually baffled on how this anime has 300-500 replies per episode while there are other better anime this season, who are not receiving the attention they deserve.

Aside from that, I still like Shinoa.

I love this one it's so true come on Ferid fight for our MikaYuu ship. He's much stronger than Guren. I used to like Guren, but I kind of hate him after watching episode 11 because he's using Yuu as his trump card plus the experimenting made me feel sick to my stomach.

Even though the animation isn't the best I still like the anime it's my #1 this season. Lets hope for the best when it comes to season 2. Complaining now won't do much.

Just as epic as I expected it to be.

Poor gullible Mika, whining about Yuu being used. Little does he know there is a difference between his squad mates and the actual higher ups in the demon army. And for some reason after becoming a vampire and having Ferid whisper in his ear constantly he's totally blinded to the fact that he is being equally used.

Both sides are stupidly greedy and evil, as if they haven't both made that apparent already.

Hey leave my poor little Mika alone he has been through a lot. Yuu needs to save him and have him by his side again. Even the demon inside of Yuu said to run away with Mika.

Nope. Mika knows he is also being "used". But he is cleaver and he always used that in his favor. He will pretend to side with them just like he did the first time to be able to steal the map and gun from Ferid. Now, He is using the vampires on his own way by siding with them because he needs to survive and to get stronger in order to protect Yuu. Mika still hates vampires and mostly Ferid.

That Guren I thought he was supposed to be like Yuu's father and protect him and not do that to him. I'm also waiting for them to air the last episode because I want to see what happens. Is Guren really the bad guy I don't want to believe it, but after ep.11 a lot of people started to hate him including me. I don't read the manga so I can only wait and see.

There is also the simple fact that Japan is not the West, they have different views on gender than the west does. In Japan there is nothing wrong with men crying, Samurai would cry, embrace, hell even fondle one another when they met old friends even after spending the day hacking people's arms off.

As for "feminized" men. Kabuki actors would dress up like women throughout the Edo period and were celebrities. The Kyoto nobility has always been viewed as feminized, they used makeup, perfume, had long hair, wrote and recited poetry and cried like babies upon hearing it, indeed one can say that the Japanese men are the MORE emotional of the two sexes, (see Genji no monogatari). The vampires are not acting "feminized", they are being portrayed as more cultured and refined than the humans.

Here is a thought, when something occurs in a foreign show that one doesn't understand, how about first wondering if it is perhaps a cultural difference before screaming and crying? You might learn something.

Well, the only 'feminized' vampire would be Ferid. Everyone else is pretty normal(in the sense that they don't swing their hips and walk like a woman).

Look all I'm saying is that men in general can cry it doesn't make them that less of a man for doing so. I guess your beliefs are that men are not allowed to cry. Even here in the West men cry their not deprived of that emotion. It's unhealthy to not cry when you need to.

1) I'm no hater. I actually started watching the anime, because I like the manga, but this anime is trying very hard to make me stop watching it. For me art and animation is really important in anime, because the plot is usually the same as in manga or LN, so I can just go and read it (there is not a lot of original anime). I do care about the plot, because if not for the plot I would drop Owari after the second episode or so, becaus ethe animation simply hurts my eyes. And it gets worse and worse with every episode, and makes anime not enjoyable as the action scenes are either really bad, or totally skipped.

2) Maybe for you.

3) Yeah it is. But there are shonens with much nicer animation and art.

The clash could give a greater impact if the pace had not fallen in some places, and not reproducing certain situations that are hideously obvious and improbable, thus making the interest wane. As mentioned earlier, there are contexts that are unquestionably in opposition to one another, but the fact is grave feeling that is perceived reliability of the characters to be less. What comes out in the end, is a mixture of disappointment coupled with despair as the perceived potential. I can not be said to be dissatisfied, but hell, you could give a better yield. Drawing a little lame at times; the best moment for me was when Yu exchanged small talk, so if we want to say, with his weapon and begin to see the Seraphim; I thought of a colossal levied, however it was not so; oh well! Really good the fallen in the field of the new character, the transformation of Yu, was not as terrifying as impact, it did not make me hot and and cold.

What's with Mika? getting stabbed to protect Shinoa and then tells her "don't touch Yuu with your dirty hands, human!".
Ferid has been holding Guren by his neck for almost the entire episode and he's not suffocating or even struggling! he's actually chatting with the vampires!
All other characters are just standing doing nothing, and Yuu got that cliche' transformation so suddenly!
Also, with all the effort put on the artwork they couldn't animate such a short battle better than that?!
And finally, why in the hell is Guren acting as if everything is going according to plan when he was getting his ass beat up through the entire battle, and was planning to "retreat"?!
This show is a total mess! -_- and it lacks common sense!

a) He wasn't protecting Shinoa, he was protecting Yuu's conscience, because he's gay like that

b) Apparently anything counts as a cliche, as long as it's in a show I don't like but nevertheless am watching irregardless!

c) He's not acting; everything is going exactly to plan.

This show has tons of potential but I'm always found wanting after every episode. I don't think the pacing is very good, and dialogue during intense moments takes away from the situations. I don't feel excited to watch the series after starting off with amazing first few episodes. What a waste.

This was a gooooood episode, but this transformation of Yuu was kinda too quick. I mean this would deserve a whole episode and not just 2 minutes. I have the feeling that Ferid is the biggest MikaYuu shipper in the world.

And Mika is just... well... I don't really know what kind of feelings he has for Yuu but his super jealous and desperate behaviour is so out of character that I was just sitting here and whaaat this isn't the Mika I know. The Mika I know has only one expression, the "I'm 400% done with the situation" face. xD

Only one more... and then 12 more in the autumn. I'm really curious how they gonna end this season. Gosh this anime is so bad but hell I like it!! xDD

Episode 11 was way better than what the series had used us to since the beginning. Glenn or at least someone needs to die, though. I mean, you're trying to depict a highly dangerous environment where humans are surrounded by extremely powerful vampires and yet you don't even suffer a single casualty. Heck, Glenn got stabbed, punched, kicked and strangled for hours and he is still alive. Without any death this show will just stay a very average one. Not that I am a sadistic or would like to see any character dead, but miracle survivals all the time means poor writing in my eyes.

actually Ferid seems jealous and in the manga he is totally gay for Mika. He has fun watching Mika suffering.
Mika's feelings? Yuu is basically his only reason to live, his everything. Its not easy to live for years with the killer/abuser of your family without nothing for you to hold on, so like every victim in his situation, alone, hungry, suffering, he chose to hold on to his only happy memory: Yuu. Because Mika was a child that was abused his only concern is the well being of the ones he loves. The only one left is Yuu, so there you go his desperation: yuu disappears, he stops having a reason to live and to endure all the pain.

What's with Mika? getting stabbed to protect Shinoa and then tells her "don't touch Yuu with your dirty hands, human!".
And finally, why in the hell is Guren acting as if everything is going according to plan when he was getting his ass beat up through the entire battle, and was planning to "retreat"?!

Mika protected her so Yuu did not be burdened by guilt of killing a human/comrade. He protected someone he hates because he doesnt want Yuu to suffer. He does not want though for Yuu to be close to Shinoa because he believes she knows Guren's plans (which she doesnt). He knows Guren and the imperial army did pretty crazy experiments on children to create berserk monsters...like Yuu. Watching your bro being used by an army to become a destruction weapon ...If they did that to a friend of mine I would react even worse than Mika. The only thing I dont agree with Mika is that he thinks everyone knows and its involved (all humans) which is not true, but you cant blame him because he lives with the freaking vampires so...

I'm going to be honost here, this whole humans are "ugly, greedy, sinners etc" that's getting repeated by every vampire (or demon) each episode and now even by Yuu's seraph side is really starting to get on my nerves.

When you think about it it's just hypocritism at it's finest. And if vampires where former humans (like Mika) they have no right to say anything about it.

I would say vampires greatest sin would be their own ignorance of not seeing it.

Just watch the anime.

Plus that IS how humans are. If Vampires were originally humans, they'd understand the species more by seeing an outside POV. And he has the right to say anything he wants. Freedom of speech!

Just watch the anime, lol, it'll become clearer.

Ofc, the vampires are just as bad(or less, definitely not worse) but
1) They're not creating monsters
2) They didn't say they AREN'T monsters. Actually, in episode 12/13, Mika should say something that'll extinguish your annoyance^

I just don't like this whole "the kettle calling the pot black" kind of mentality. While vampires clearly want to rub it in how "superior" they are. It must be easy for vampires to replace their once "greedy humanity" with an ignorant one.

Since when does one individual or a group of people crime stand for a sin for a whole race? Since when is protecting your family a sin? What is called a sin?

As for freedom of speech, it does become a rather gray area when an opinion gets elevated to a "divine judgement". I can only say this: "let he who is without sin throw the first stone"

Me: The opening has more frames than the rest of the episode.
Other guy: Yes it does.

A bit later, about the opening.
Other guy: It's better than some picture with some music and shit.

11/10 this show is new trollmaterial, just like oreshit was.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.

No, it's fine. This is how most of us felt at first, too. Plus, it's not just one organisation. Just watch, it'll become clearer^

And, like I said, the vampires are still at fault, but I've just learnt to ignore their condescending and arrogant nature. :P

Hm. I can't really say that this knocked my socks off. The animation is sometimes quite mediocre and the action scenes are not really action scenes. The pacing was slow and sometimes didn't feel right.

Well you have a point about the roots, but not quite accurate in terms of modern context. In animanga and the fashion industry, for Asian society especially, the androgynous style and attributes have simply become more popular and positive. Especially from the 90's onward, the notion of beauty has simply changed to this and so has the way people view certain (feminine) traits associated with it. Simple example: modern Kpop/Jpop idols, celebrities and performers are primarily pretty (and feminine) because the society idealizes androgynous traits.

But mind you, this is a shoujo. I think they needed a simple way for him to express inner turmoil when he's emotional. He's young, after all. Shounen does it too. And for feminized men... well the vampires are portrayed as beautiful and dastardly, following androgynous ideals. Basically: "They ooze sex appeal and carnality in a way that represents how seductive and tempting evil can be. " - TV Tropes

Oh my god, just how bad was that animation. The art when the petrol station exploded... just terrible.

Quoted for truth. The animation is so bad that it makes the anime so-so. I'm not expecting an animation like FSN but it's just so bad. Watching this is killing me. Just one more episode and it's done.

Eh?? I actually thought that was well done! They added so many frames to that and it was a whole sequence with different parts (budget!). Although it looked like the style was different from the rest of the action, which means they probably had a different studio do the frames so it felt a bit awkward in style. But it wasn't bad by any means. It's not like they had only a couple frames and moved a part or two down to the ground and make it look like it's "destroyed". o.O
