Amazing episode man. I was so hyped on every single play this episode, I think I may have disturbed some of my neighbors lol. And don't worry Suga you aren't the only one crying! I'm here with you! Hinata's development as a character is crazy and it really shows through Suga reminiscing about past events, you can't just help but love him man. Let's hope for an announcement of a season 5 at the end of this season!

THAT'S why I watch Haikyuu! Oh my god - I loved every second of it!!
Last week ended on such a high note that I read ahead in the manga for the first time ever so I KNEW what was coming. But the animation, the soundtrack, and the voice acting adapted that last point SO well. Started tearing up at the same time as Suga - I'm so proud of these idiots that gave it their all and blocked the twins into oblivion. DAMN.

10/10 for me

Question for you guys, didnt Karasuno touch the ball 4 times at one point? Isnt that not allowed? It went from Tsuki Ball Touch, to Tanaka guy, to Kageyama to Azumane scoring?

Block doesn't count as a touch, its def happened before in the show too.

This was so exciting and intense oh my god. The twins' minus tempo was amazing, but that block by Kageyama and Hinata was sooo good I truly thought they'd lose that point. Not to mention Kageyama's dump when Inarizaki was on break point, that was so bold for such a significant moment in the game. So many good plays in this match, I loved seeing Hinata's development after the camp, everyone being at the top of their game as well as getting to know Inarizaki's team players.

A block or touch of the ball at the net does NOT count as one of a team's three hits. The first hit of the ball after a block may be executed by any player, including the player who made the block, and is considered the first of the three hits.

Wow. Just wow. This episode was perfect. I was literally shaking in my seat I was so on edge. Mouth open in shock multiple times, crying before the halfway point, I just... wow.
There’s so much to unpack and I don’t even think I could touch on every wonderful moment, but god I just can’t believe that just happened. They did it. They actually did it!!!
From small moments like date tech watching over asahi, to sugawara nearly in tears. And the absolute highlights were the character moments for kageyama, tsukishima and hinata. Haikyuu truly is at its peak when these three are front and centre and thriving. There were so many things I thought I’d never see, like hinata being the calm one and digging that ball high to give everyone time, to hinata and tsukishima relying on each other and being impressed by each other, and damn that moment where kageyama and hinata stuffed the miya twins quick. I let out the biggest wail ever and full out sobbed, looking through the tears in my eyes to make sure that damn ball hit the floor and it did. Perfection.
I have given a fair bit of criticism some episodes of this show, but with how the last 3 episodes have been, with how that mini nekoma break was and how this last episode is shaping up to be, I’m not taking it back, I just think that upon rewatch, knowing these moments are coming, it’ll give context to the slower moments and watching it all at once might really tie together the match and prolong the tension because I’ve definitely felt it for these past few weeks and man did it pay off today. The exhaustion, the fight, the passion and perseverance of everyone on the court was so palpable, I just think in terms of this season and tying up the whole of to the top, this episodes more than excels. From bringing up things from the first cour like asahi’s spike technique in the practice game against date tech to really just perfectly rounding off hinata’s growth from the camp to now being such a well rounded and strong player in his own right in so many ways, it just makes it all seem worth it.
At times like this, I love to think back to how these characters started when we first met them, and now, to see tsukishima, kageyama and hinata the way they are now, it’s just so incredible, so heart warming and empowering. Haikyuu, I adore you.

It hit off of the Inarizaki block after Tanaka's spike so their touches reset and Kageyma got the ball barely up

Shouldn't have looked at the staff list cuz there was an absurd amount of great animator on the ep and I think the episode didn't really live up to my expectations, that's on me I'm stupid.

So ear me out, I love the story it tolds and I adore Inarizaki as a team, they're definetly up there in term of player I didn' want to see lose, and that Kageyama/Hinata block was amazing.

BUT, in term of Haikyuu climaxes, considering the staff that was on the ep, I can't help but being disappointed, the camera work was good, but the animation wasn't THAT impressive. And while by this season's standards the episode is definetly special, in the whole series, it's rather unimpressive.

Soooo i guess that's on me for being a sakugatard and hyping myself up for no reason. With this match over I don't think can give it the 7 I was hoping for. Might switch to the manga if S5 is of the same caliber.

I too felt the animation was a little off. It looks like some others are saying that the difference is just due to the style of the animator who did most of the scenes this episode. Whatever the reason, it did seem slightly off from what I’m used to for the show.

That aside, the episode was still great in my opinion! Plenty of excitement, lots of cool plays, and I loved that we are getting to see the results of Hinata’s hard work and character development. He is becoming more than just the quick hitter and decoy.

Good job Karasuno!

I really wonder why there are people who say they might lose this match.

I've been saying this on the mal discord haikyuu channel all the time that I really think they will win against every team from now on. They need to because the franchise is approaching its finale season soon. So why would they lose? A tragic ending for arguably the best sports anime? Yeah, no.

Believe me, I remember seeing a post like. "I think they'll lose against Inarizaki for character development." LMAO NO.

Major character development in haikyuu is already done. There are still some minor bits though. What we mostly see now is backstory of the opponents to show how "strong" they are to increase the impact when haikyuu win against
them.

I don't read the haikyuu manga so I don't know about the future. But I really do think Karasuno will win the nationals and end the series. I really don't get those "they might lose this match because ... bla bla" predictions. Lmao, it doesn't make sense.

Yooo, another remix of Above to close a match! This one was a hyper fast one, which felt quite suiting with the minus tempo quicks being major part of this match on both sides.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how they concluded the match in the anime. Of course, I have minor gripes here and there with quality consistency, but it definitely felt like it captured the essence of the first 3 seasons. If only the beginning of the match was handled better. Regardless, they delivered pretty well overall for this one!

ayy that was a nice way to end this match, really brought back the best in Haikyuu.

Overall though, this match was good yes, but nothing compared to the other big matches. This one honestly felt a lot like Ahiru no Sora at times where it focused more on making the opposing side seem like the main team lol. I mean, I get that the Karasuno boys already had their share of stories, but they kinda felt neglected for the most part

That being said I did love the Miya twins though

“I think everyone was surprised. But we weren’t”
Ever since I read the haikyuu manga I have always admired these words and reflected on them.
I didn’t think it was possible for me to cry while watching haikyuu, but you learn something new everyday.
Astonishing episode.

Overall this season has been on the disappointing side, but it is the nationals arc so I’m gonna give it benefit of the doubt and raise my rating back up to a 7. Pacing is quite shitty but it was very enjoyable.

So the fateful match ends with Karasuno reaching the summit first....
It was one of the best matches if not the best match in the series. Karasuno, especially Kageyama and Hinata, were on 🔥 and Inarizaki was cool as hell. Miya Atsumu is my favorite setter now. Shame the Twins quick got blocked at the end, but Kageyama personally for me has been at the top of his game this whole match. Amazing development, not only in terms of “The King” returning, but also he’s become a stronger player.
Excited for the next episode, and the next match is gonna be insane ;)

Me cry over volleyball boys? Yes. They finally beat Inarizarki. I read the manga for these chapters awhile ago so I don't remember them that well but omg it was so beautiful seeing the animation for it. Maybe I'm blind but the animation this episode didn't bother me at all. In fact there were many moments I was astonished by it. Anyways, great episode 10/10.

Not gonna lie, seeing Suga almost in tears while witnessing Hinata's growth with that high ball truly moved me. It's been such a long journey since season 1...

Okay, so against extreme exhaustion and shitty still-shots, Karasuno finally managed to win the match. Overall, these past few episodes were truly amazing but considering the match as a whole, the emotion and enjoyment I felt was nowhere near as strong as with the confrontations against Shiratorizawa and Aoba Jousai. This said, it was still a fantastic final point as well as a very fitting way to conclude this final set with both Hinata and Kageyama blocking the twins' perfect quick attack. Nekoma awaits in the next round now.

What a wonderful episode, everyone had their participation. Hinata shone not only in the cut but also in the receptions and blockades. That reception by Tsukishima and Captain was very good. Fortunately, they managed to win, an incredible game with many good moments.

First it was the kicks, and now it's the open handed lift (receives?).......... no longer sure what is legal anymore. Not going to lie, after the long rally, I thought I was over this match, but this had me on edge. So many irl games where the building energy cracks at the end, but they carried through like bosses. As the coach said, speed can also be a curse.

5/5. Although, much confusion and googling.

Damn, this was one fabulous episode! Hinata and Kageyama blocking the perfect quick shot is a pretty cool parallel to when this quick shot was blocked by Oikawa's blockers. I freakin' love it when shows do stuff like this.

Animation-wise, some of the buildup in the final moments were incredible! Using that dim light for the twins and displaying the "We don't need the Memories" was brilliant. VAs for the twins nailed it too!

Lastly, finalizing the game through the eyes of the leader of Inarizaki, I appreciate that. It was a tame start but the last 2-3 episodes have definitely picked it up.

Suga-san nearly shedding a tear for Hinata though, he's really come a long way hasn't he? I like how this match made Part 1 so relevant xD. Firstly with Hinata's shocking block and now to break the cursed rhythm, that's what I like to see!

Definitely one of the best episodes of the series so far eve though the animation wasn't flawless throughout!

Can't wait to see what's left next in store for us! Hopefully, a S5 teaser too, please! I need more animated Haikyuu!

This episode is so, SO good that it makes the season all the more frustrating for me.

I mean, there's a reason this match is deemed the best one in the whole series by manga readers (including me). I can't help but imagine this match being handled by Season 3 staff. Would be peak fiction every single episode. Unfortunately, I've only managed to thoroughly enjoy it in 2 or 3 episodes (Tanaka's episode, Kita's episode and this episode probably).

But anyway, this is what Haikyuu is about. Top-tier writing like I've never seen in any other sports anime/manga.

Watching the screen start to have borders(for lack of a better term) while the pace of the team was increasing, then Hinata setting the tempo back down and a veil of light shines down was really well done.

The Miya twins minus tempo quick to the shutout block had me mad hype, for both teams (more of Inarizaki to be honest).

Final episode soon!
