Just another boring and uninspiring survival type game anime, it was a complete waste of time, moreover, the animation was trash and the characters designs were really weird and wacky. Dropped |

I can assure you that this one is completely different from Ousama Game and also, Mirai Nikki. read the manga ousama game, its similar to lost village/myoiga ,shiki but different than corpse party, slightly similar to mira nikki's ending with flow of emotions i actually really enjoyed the manga for ousame game |

Really good first impression for me. Not-annoying protagonist is already a big advantage over most shounens. That waifu is hot too for that matter (and her boobs aren't oversized!). Action scenes were rather decent and I liked how they used music during the episode. Premise itself is as basic as it gets, but honestly, that's true for all shounens. I'm sure staying for this ride. I disagree about it being "edgy" tho. It tries to be "dark and serious", with better or worse effect, but it seems people throw that stupid buzzword at everything. Imo the level shown here is perfectly fine without feeling cringy. |

I'm a little sad that they completely cut out the based cop in the first fight. Artstyle is a too generic for me and I can't stand your typical little anime girl with superpowers. OST is great though. |

I actually liked this episode until the last few scenes, because it was cringe. So this also has romance? Animation was either bad or good, I liked the OST's. I liked the OP song. |

I got a feeling I'm watching some weird Mirai Nikki/Danganropa/Ousama's game crossover or anything similar trying to be dark by spilling blood everywhere mixed with SAO. So not the best first impression imo. Seems to be as crappy as I've expected but who knows what'll it turn into so I'll continue watching probs. The mc's ability looks cool and the show's Yuno Gasai didn't waste any time to want to 'make family' with him right after almost killing him. |

The art style is mostly average but the good score really helps to set the scene. Kaname makes a somewhat likeable MC and even though there is still a lot of world building to be done everything is comprehensible. Also no time wasted in terms of romance. Guess I will continue to watch this for a at least a few more episodes. |

This was terrible I don't know even where to start. Animation is subpar it often feels choppy especially in first half of the show. When I was looking at MC running in the first half of the show I couldn't help but think of Benny Hill theme lol. Art-style is below average and blurry at times. Whats up with negative shots and black screen? As If things weren't bad enough there is also a censorship with black bars. The entire thing makes no sense, how can a snake come out of the phone and bite him??? Then there is a part where the app causes giant pandas body to disappear somehow but he is still able to talk even though half of his head and body was missing??? WTF Then there is a cliche where MC is saved at the last moment, also his friend could've shot giant panda in the head but didn't cause reasons. This cliche is repeated again when car killed giant panda just before he could kill MC. And again later when he is about to be killed by a girl wielding kunai and chains he magically figure outs his power at the last second. And when he finally defeats her with power of plot armor she instantly falls in love with him and wants to have a family??? WTF There was also a loli that was watching his fight with a girl I wonder if she is going to fall in love with him as well so we can have a harem. Overall this is going to be an edge fest train wreck of the season I don't know if I should drop it or continue to watch just so I can see how much worse it's going to get. |

Then there is a part where the app causes giant pandas body to disappear somehow but he is still able to talk even though half of his head and body was missing??? WTF So, do you want a big exposition scene and a fat info dump so that you don't have to wonder about some stuff? I for one am happy if not everything is explained exactley the same second that something happens. Imagine Steins;Gate explaining why its first episode is so weird right from the start.... Not that i'm comparing Darwin's Game's story with Steins;Gate's necessarily but i always approach a story with that same mindset. ^^ Xstasy said: Then there is a cliche where MC is saved at the last moment, also his friend could've shot giant panda in the head but didn't cause reasons. That friend wasn't a good addition, I agree. He wasn't part of that fight in the manga, in the manga Kaname had to fend for himself with practically no information at all (he got some from Shuka via messages). Xstasy said: This cliche is repeated again when car killed giant panda just before he could kill MC. Well, the car didn't kill him, it only incapacitated him, but Kaname was lucky that's true. He was killed by Darwin's Game because his points reached 0, but that wasn't explained in the anime, so yeah. I really think that the fight with Banda wasn't adapted very well. Some of the flaws you're pointing out are because the adaptation wasn't done well (which still makes it bad in the anime, so i don't fault you for that, i also disliked a lot of scenes from that fight) but other stuff just hasn't been explained yet. And if you're mad about a coincidence like a car hitting him then you really shouldn't have Steins;Gate as one of your favorite anime, the anime king of lucky coincidences. ;) Metal Upa XD Xstasy said: And again later when he is about to be killed by a girl wielding kunai and chains he magically figure outs his power at the last second. Not 'magically'. He already used it a first time with the pen at school. The rules for his power were already foreshadowed at that point. It was certainly beneficial to him to have figured out how his sigil works before he got killed but he didn't just 'magically' figure it out. He thought about the time it worked by accident and learned from experience. At least i don't see a problem there. Xstasy said: And when he finally defeats her with power of plot armor she instantly falls in love with him and wants to have a family??? WTF What power of plot armor? He uses his head and beats her fair and square, what's plot armor about that? He blinded her, he created distractions, he figured out her plan to hit him from behind even while she was blinded, etc. He was using his wits and that's what got him the win. Yeah she falls in love with him after that, so what? She never lost against anyone before that fight and everytime she fought, her opponents were out for her life. Kaname is the first one to beat her through a combination of wits and skill, even though he was much 'weaker', and yet he is not out for blood. Until that point she still believed that he was dishonest with her an was trying to trick her and only then she realized that he was actually telling the truth about him not knowing anything about Darwin's Game. I think those qualities aren't bad at all and I can understand her falling for him. :) Also, when she says 'Family' she doesn't mean 'Family' (not yet anyway). ;) Xstasy said: There was also a loli that was watching his fight with a girl I wonder if she is going to fall in love with him as well so we can have a harem. There was no girl with her, she was alone. Also, except for Shuka there won't be much romance with Kaname at all (at least as of yet). And except for Shuka there's no one that Kaname has shown any interest in so far as well. Xstasy said: Overall this is going to be an edge fest train wreck of the season I don't know if I should drop it or continue to watch just so I can see how much worse it's going to get. Oh come on, you have Mirai Nikki as one of your favorite shows but you're calling this an edge fest train wreck after only one episode? XD Not saying you can't of course, to each their own of course and whatever makes one happy i'm not one to tell someone they shouldn't enjoy something, i just find it funny. ^^ No ill will from me, just to make that clear. ^^ |

I'm confused. Don't be another Ousama Game pls. It will be explained but his main power is actually enhancement, being able to copy objects is just a part of it. He also has a limit of how many things he can store, copy and create. So for example, he copies a gun but he can actually have it with stronger bullets etc, that kind of stuff. Not as bad as I initially expected, but still. The main reason (for now) why I'm watching it is Shuka and Ueda Reina who is voicing her, because I love her voice. And Shuka's character design is fantastic. I mean, really. Anyway, artistic values are pretty high too (expected nothing less by Nexus) despite some derp faces of MC. I just hope it won't end as something as cringy and pathetic as ousama game. eso-JAR said: animation is so bad. ? Did I watch different series by any chance? Or you're just plain blind? |

I find it strange that some people are saying the animation is trash while other people are claiming that the animation is great. In my opinion the only bad parts of the animation was the main character’s face sometimes looking a bit weird but besides that there was some scenes with some pretty smooth animation like most of the movements of the blonde girl with the chains. I really don’t understand how people can call that shitty animation. As for the story it was just your typical battle royale story but nothing wrong with that. It was overall a pretty fun episode even with a few cliches like the last scene of the episode. The action was pretty fun overall and pretty good choreographed. Even if the show doesn’t have the best story it will still be a fun show if the animation keeps staying at this quality through all of its run and if the action scenes keep staying intense. |

damn a 40+ minutes first episode this is way more violent than what i usually enjoy, but so far it was ok not sure what to think of a random app that makes you fight to the death without even telling you anything (atleast in other animes the apps/plushies explain how stuff works)...but whatever i wonder if Shuka will end up on my next signature, she surely is fun and cute lol her battle moves are also cool, with her suddently turning around and throwing her chains, and even using them to instantly fly to wherever she wants THAT ENDING THO LOL i'm adding sexy to the list above :v |

@xSayumi It's kind of a shame that they didn't really show the scene with Shuka hanging that guy (the one from the manga, that you coincidentally showed here ^^). Overall, they really held back with the gore and the little bits they left in were often censored with black bars. I hope that's not gonna be a trend for Darwin's Game or at least that they're gonna removre those bars for the BD release. |

Gonna be honest, I hate the first half of the episode. I mean sure it does show what to expect from a game like this, but truly it felt forced. And the fact they get killed by pixelation I assume was laughable. However the second half wasn't as bad but it wasn't really all that interesting. Hopefully the second episode picks the show up at a grandeur scale cause im on the verge of dropping it. |

The scene where his friend save him wasn't in the manga as he was suppose to be the one in the opening shot but chanhed and I like thay change as we get to see his sigil. Not only that, the pandas power is invisibility which means that he cannot be seen but he can still talk.He cannot be seen by the naked eyes but can still be noticed via heat sensor, or the best friend's sigil which can allow him to sense others body heat. He didn't magically figure out his powers. He still don't know his full capability but know briefly and the only reason it activated is due to him desperately need something to fight which caused his sigil to inknowly activate like how he did with the pen in the school nursing room. The reason Shuka feel in love is cause she was undefeated but lose to someone who just started and she didn't fully fell in love with him til the enst arc. Also, theres no harem, only one love interest and Shuka and kaname fucked. Literally. I recommend you to continue, cause this is jojo but no Punching ghost and the upcoming fight aren't just 'I have stronger power mean i' m the best' and more of the 'I may have a shit power, but as long as I train it and think of a plan, I can win. Was skeptical after seeing the poster, mainly cause Kaname's eyes looks weird even though it was normal in the manga. Surprised I'm not really bothered by it as much as I thought I would be once I started watching lol. Usually I'm more likely to get disappointed by an adaptation of anything I've already read/played, but this is a solid first episode. Glad they didn't tone down how gory it could be, aside from understandable amount of censoring. The OP, "Chain" by ASCA is also a banger! 8/10 thus far |

But was hoping maybe it would be "watchable trash." And I got exactly what I expected. An edgy, trashy show, but manages to hold my minimum required interest to keep watching. But then they had to force in that "give me children" bit for seemingly no reason. So now idk anymore. |
