I'm not that much of a binge watcher myself quite the opposite actually but this week I finally got to rewatch my favourite romcom anime maison ikkoku and ended up finishing all 96 episodes in 5 days time.

And so I was wondering how my craziest binge session yet would stack up to the rest of the community.

When i just started with anime for real, around begin of spring 2018 i think.

Started with Dragon ball Z binge then Naruto then Bleach then One Piece

most likely watched 4-5 other shows like Death note and SAO etc. in between the bingesesh for a change of pace.

Finished the bingesesh end of summer 2018 i think. Still watching one piece tho lol (weekly wait sucks)

I went through 265 episodes of Gintama in one month and 12 days, not the craziest binge but craziest for me, although that was over 6 years ago already

and funny that you say Maison Ikkoku was your biggest binge, it took me 3 and a half years to finish it. I thought the misunderstandings were very infuriating at times

I once watched 40 eps of Gintama in the course of 3 days. That was probably my biggest bingeing session. Another one was Steins;Gate. Watched it in literally one sitting.

Same

Also sometimes really good series with 13 episodes or less. After one day, completely finished

3 years ago I finished 48 episodes of Gintama in 1 day.
And I watched Gosick in 9 hours only.
Also completed the Monogatari Series in 3 days.
Now I need a week to finish a 12-episodes anime.

Lol quite funny indeed since in my case it took me over a year to finish the first season of gintama and I still haven't watched the rest yet. As for ikkoku it was a rewatch so I didn't mind the misunderstanding, I'm also a sucker for drama and always find kyoko fun to watch no matter the circumstance.

Even though I absolutely love it one piece might be the only anime I think I'll never rewatch in its entirety and even if I did I would definitely take at least 10 times more time

For anime with full-length episodes, mine would have to be watching the last fifteen episodes of Allison & Lillia in one day, which was this January. That may not sound like a lot for some people, but I was so fucking mentally drained after watching that many episodes in a day. I'm probably not going to watch that much full-length episodes in one day ever again. lol

For shorts, I finished the entire show of Aggressive Retsuko (The first one, not the Netflix one) in one day, simply because each episode was a minute long.

There is so much things going on in monogatari that I doubt I would ever come close, I'm currently rewatching it starting from the movies and after 3 weeks or so I'm still in nise.

I think I only ever binge watched two anime, which was years ago.

Diabolic Lovers: I watched and finished this in a single night. It was so annoyingly bad it was addicting.

[b]Maria the Virgin Witch[b]: funny enough, I only heard of this anime from Skallagrim's video, where he talked about how realistic the weapons, armor, and fighting were. For those who don't know, Skallagrim is a Youtuber whose channel focuses entirely on old weapons, so for him to talk about an anime was a huge surprise.
Needles to say, I started watching and finished Maria the Virgin Witch in a single night. While I really enjoyed it, I wouldn't say I loved it. So thinking back, I don't know why I binge watched it.

I think binge watching kinda ruins the point of a tv show. Tv shows are divided into episodes that are meant to be consumed one to a few episodes a day. If you want to consume a visual storytelling medium as fast as possible, why not just watch a movie?

Wait a minute:
1 day = 24 hours.
An anime episode is technically around 24 minutes, but I'm going to just assume you probably skipped the OPs and ED's like most do, so I'm just going to guess you spent 20 minutes watching every episode.
20 minutes x 48 = 960 minutes divided by 60 minutes (1 hour) = 16 hours.
...You spent 16 hours of a day watching anime. I have no clue how that's even possible. Did you skim through some episodes?

Yeah, I rewatched the Monogatari Series 3 times and I'm currently in the 4th rewatch, I'm taking my time and watching a few arcs every months.

Good point there but I think in some cases you don't just purposely decide to binge something, in my case here I actually wanted to spend the entirety of my holidays watching it but I just couldn't stop once I started.

Lol, that would be One Piece when I was still just learning about anime.

I was so hooked up on it I would watch around 20 episodes a day, everyday, till I catched up with the series (Which was at around 500 eps at the time).

Aside from that I'm not much of a binge watcher.

My favorite anime, which is Rose of Versailles. I watched all 40 episodes probably about as close to back to back as I could (I had to sleep for a couple hours though, I thought I'd be too tired at some point to get as invested). Finished it in a bit over two days, crying in bed lol

For me it was big because it's such an old anime, I never expected to be so enthralled in an anime from before ~1990 that I would binge it in one go. Now I've really fallen in love with the style and stories of older anime/ manga. Binging that was a turning point for me :)

So when Boruto was announced I might have binge watched all 770 episodes and 11 movies of Naruto and naruto shippuden in the span of 2 and a half months cause I figured no better time then now. Do I regret it? Nah not too much only other thing i had going on was job hunting and gaming.

Hence the reason im still watching boruto. Too much time invested to catch up.

I did this with NGNL, except I do regret it. Probably why I don't binge anymore.
