Too much re-used animations and long-ass monologues from Swimsuit Billy.
There were also some really ugly still frames.

Other than that, the end was pretty good. Ok episode overall, just.... not good.

Pretty much this

Got too repetitive, stand battles are okay but can't really hype over them. It's just lost of screaming normal shounen fancy suits jojo overall

This fight, especially at the ending, reminded me about why Bruno is Vento Aureo's heart. Giorno may be the brains and this story certainly couldn't happen without him (Polpo wouldn't be killed, Bruno wouldn't survive King Crimson etc). But Bruno is the heart, he's the main force.
The 30sec muda muda was excellent, but Bruno's silent stare and steps towards Secco were just as impressing for me.

You have problem with stand or something? Stand battles aren't cliche because how creative they got in these recent parts and it's not like they're fighting for no reason. Not everything gets resolved by talk no jutsu, every show has different ways.

What a disappointment. Secco turned into a generic jojo-villain the moment he realized Cioccolata was dead, to the point that I could already tell how the fight was gonna play. I'm also tired of this Jojo trope of: "The bad guy is a pretentious jerk but when he's gonna lose, he whines like a bitch"... But at least, I love how Cioccolata was able to record two messages for Secco during his fight, it's so stupid it's kind of funny.

We have more of Polnareff but he still hasn't do anything interesting. I hope two things for my fellow frenchman: 1) that the story is gonna explain how he lost his legs and why he cares about Diavolo and why he hasn't contacted Jotaro to have help and 2) that he is gonna have some fights and not be here just to give the Deus Ex Machina (that Giorno is probably gonna use to defeat Diavolo).

And speaking of the King of Dumbass, he finally returns and he... Still sucks and need others to survive. Only 7 episodes left for him to prove that he isn't the absolute worst. And I'm sure that he isn't gonna kill Bucci already, I can feel it even tho Bruno is clearly gonna bite the dust before the end (sorry my licking friend). Also no civilains cared or noticed the fact that a crazy man in a weird outfit took a teenager hostage? Also the civilains seem pretty chill despite the BIOLOGICAL ATTACK that just happened a few minutes ago !

And yes, while the anime revolves around stands fights, we can expect more things like good character development, a smart, fun and original story, etc... But what we have here is a very basic-formule-lame-story that we kinda seen twice already in the serie, the same cliches used over and over, rushed character development and interesting ideas that are suddenly abandoned (remember Fugo everyone?). And yes, we still have some good fights, likeable protagonists, some crazy-awesome-stuff that makes Jojo stand out from the rest but let's not pretend that this part is perfect.

I think the overall story and atmosphere beats any earlier part. Like part 3 had no twists or turns in the story, it was ”Japan —> Egypt” from the beginning to the end, while part 4 had moments where at least I was like ”wtf are you guys doing, people are getting killed and you’re running around plsying dumb games with other people”, it was pretty messy at some points. Like Jotaro and Rohan doing the work in the shadows when Josuke and his buddies were just running around doing stupid shit

i agree with most of your complaints, brother... pt. 5 is kinda boring, bad antagonist and all over the place. Giorno is ok, but far from the best protagonist.

The writing got so much better after this part it's not even funny. pt. 6 onwards are so much more enjoyable, engaging, and overall better than anything before them.

Agree. The worst jojo ever. Giovanna totally uninteresting, no character, no story, inconsistent GE skills. He is one liner man that give solution, done, no more, not even has emotion or spirit, flat. Villain is getting more weird but somehow weak and stupid. The resolve in fight seem too forced because it always invent new mechanism. I dont feel bizzare, dangerous feel anymore.

Even the boss is totally uninteresting. His skill is invincible yet his way to face the enemy is the opposite, weak.

Looking jojo anime like this is killing me, my logic, jojo inspiring character (Every jojo from part 1 to 4 have character).

literally everyone expect giorno as you are saying have amazing personality and Bruno gang is easily the best gang in jojo, have no idea why you're complaining when part 3 exist, the most boring jojo part. The fights of this part are way better than previous parts, also it was part 3 which had the most generic villains, you can literally skip to final 10 episodes of part 3 because rest of the episode have no progression but part 5 on the other hand is progressing in every episodes that you can't skip it but then again it's your opinion so i hope you enjoy future parts which have yet to animate.

That fight was simply awesome! I liked it way more than the one against Cioccolata. Tension, action scenes, mind games, dialogues. Secco clearly deserves even 10 sugar cubes. xD

Poor Bruno, though. His body had to endure so much during this fight while it's been already being collapsed since his duel with the Boss. Luckly or not, that was the reason he could ignore Green Day's mold and was able to survive Secco's attacks.

Oh, and I noticed noone posted this video before in this thread:

Alessi's reaction from above is a proper one to greet Jean Pierre Polnareff and reminisce about the old days. xD

I was delighted to see him. He even received an official re-introduction, haha. Too bad he is in that state, I hope we will get to know how he ended up disabled.

Part 3 first half is total boring, but second part is quite good, the enemy is getting interesting, the fighting use brain, at least everyone personality is good. If you dont like part 3, i am perfectly understand, i personally like only some of the last episodes. For me part 3 is slightly better than 5.

In part 5, i can shut off my brain because i dont even know what the stand can do, Araki want to suprise the viewer by how giorno and the gang resolve the fight by inventing new skill not by outsmart enemy with exactly the same skill (for example bucellatti sudenly can run through underground, i know sticky finger can make opening, but run underground is called inventing new skill, it is not like now bucellati use brain and now sticky finger can make opening through underground. The implementiation even doesnt make sense, sticky finger continuously punch the underground to make opening like every punch he makes quite long tunnel). Also, most of the time, 1 or 2 enemies vs 5 gang members is not blood pumping, not even bizarre. I need 1 vs 1, last bucellati fighti doesnt count since they invent life after dead, that's cheating. Risotto vs doppio is quite good actually, but totally hate doppio personalty. Should every enemy have weird personality? if that's the formula, i am off. (part 1,2, and 4 enemies mostly smart, make sense, unpredictable, not really weird)

the minor antagonist of this part actually have a great personality and yeah them having weird personally is actually really good, in the past we had serial killer who had hand fetish so boss having two souls is really bizzare. Also every parts are separated for a reason, if you're not enjoying part 5 then it's fine since not everyone has same taste. There are 3 more parts after this so I hope you enjoy them.

Man, I'm always happy to see people loving Phantom Blood! My second favorite part after Battle Tendency and Jonathan is the best!

"part 4 had moments where at least I was like ”wtf are you guys doing, people are getting killed and you’re running around plsying dumb games with other people”, it was pretty messy at some points."

Couldn't agree more. I hated how much Josuke was doing jackshit while a serial killer was in town and only Koichi and Rohan seem to care (also Jotaro and Joseph refusing to help because they weren't sure the killer had a stand wtf?!). At least we had some good stuff, like the Alien Dice!

And just to be clear, I like a lot of things in Golden Wind/Vento Aureo like the main group (especially Narancia and Abba), it's just that there is some annoying problems that disappoints me.

I have to ask manga readers.
In the manga polnareef's introduction was as obvious as it was in the anime?
I mean as soon as they showed his hair I immediately recognized who he is!

That last scene where you can see him in episode 31 was anime original, no one knew it was gonna be him when people were reading the manga.

In just one still, I've truly understood why so many people call Secco t h i c c~♥ Watching Bucciarati work that pole was a golden experience for me too, personally. Finally seeing Polnareff clearly made me scream in excitement but seeing him with all those injuries was tough to digest.

If anyone else other than Bruno was forced to fight Oasis in his place, they wouldn't even last more than a minute after they got absorbed underground because of how well Secco used his ability in their fight. The supposedly fatal wounds to the throat, those glass shards, the pavement spikes, and the enemy's exceptional hearing down under; Bruno pretty much died several times during the battle! The lack of music and sound in the underground-water sequences except for Bruno and the enemy Stand's noises really captured the stressful feeling of not knowing what's approaching you despite hearing its sounds get louder and louder. Using the air pressure of that tire to blow up both of their own eardrums was awesome and that part where he plopped above ground only to get run over repeatedly before acting terrified towards everything was rather amusing. Manhandling Doppio like that was his last mistake since he'll die no matter what happens to him after that regardless of whether he survived or not.

I guess that I'd understand why Secco would think so little of Ciocolatta the moment he found out that he had lost instead of crying like the poor loyal pet he was when his master was around because he had probably done some screwed-up shit to get him to act like his pet in the first place but it's kind of sad to see him ridicule the guy's heartfelt final message like that. At least they ended up together again in the end surrounded by trash like them. Watching him waddle towards the dump truck and fall into the disposal was hilarious. To think that Non-Stand Users might just be seeing a fully naked man popping out of the ground to make a fool of himself was just too funny.

Secco is pretty strong in the end, damn!

But argh Bruno was so close to his aim and he didn't even know it!

What the hell happened to Polnareff? Last I checked he had only lost part of his foot during the fight with Vanilla Ice...

Secco was pretty strong and in my opinion a bigger threat than Ciocolata

Polnareff appeared, good to see him after all these years

Fuck Secco, mofo won't stfu I think he's worse than Cioccolata and how ironic that they're still together after being defeated, in a garbage truck nonetheless. And I honestly don't remember what happened to Polnareff, this is one of those very rare times that I think a few minutes of flashback would help.

Glad to see polnareff again, I hope we get a backstory to why he is looking like the nazi dude. Twas a pretty good fight and once again Bron used tactics I couldn't think of.

Behold of my awesomeness~

Secco has some eagle vision to be able to see the whole body physique of the person making the signal from that distance god damn.

Has for this fights i couldn't helped but to think this was a less interesting pesci + prosciutto fight (when bucciarati mentioned that Secco was the one that they should had look out for instead of Cioccolata i got deja vu playing on my head). Secco fight had its moments and a nice conclusion but Cioccolata was just dull if it wasnt for the 30s Muda muda. It seemed like a lot of the focus was just on making the duo look as unredeemable as possible, but again the fights were probably the weaker ones out of this whole part wich is a shame.

Okay that fight with Secco was amazing. I never expected that. I thought that Bruno will kill him easily.
And yeah that ending scene, when Doppio showed was scary. He jumped out of nowhere.

Now that we got a better look at Polnareff what happened to him it was good to see him but damn I immediately wondered what would have happened if he ended up with the lady who took care of him when he got turned into a kid but that’s was just a thought

Least favourite fight of all for me, not a fan of this :I

It felt like everything was too long, while the antagonist wasn't appealing nor entertaining to watch

Did they ever explain why secco wasn't affected by the mold?
It was stupid Bruno didn't recall his stand before the zipper cut his neck, kinda  Dumb to get damaged by your own attack.
And doesn't seccos zippers on his outfit kinda look like zipper man's attacks?

Well, they didn't call it "Polnareff's Bizarre Adventures" for nothing! Great to see him. Would love to see some other Jojo's or josuke would be really cool (I feel like other than koichi DiU season is isolated from the rest of this universe/you don't see the rest of them again. Hope im wrong).

How does Polnaroff have this arrow knowledge? Funny they gave up hamon but kept this whole arrow business going for so many seasons.

How much time has past since Battle Tendency til Golden Wind?

It's funny how in English he says "isn't it funny how call colliseum rhymes with mausoleum" but in the subtitles it instead says "rhymes with kill-oseum" lmao which isn't even a word... nor clever, lol surprised they didn't stick with the English dub for the sub tbh (for once lol).

Polnareff!!!! Soooo when did he get an arrow? How tf he know so much? Where is jotaru or josuke?

And I feel dumb forgetting, but wtf happened to Polnareff's eye??? I only remember kakyoin having his eyes hurt on their adventure.

I really wish they would translate more of that Japanese stuff on the title cards in between the scenes.

Whats really crazy is that I just used Google lens and I had it auto translate everything on those title cards.

So the first said said JP Polnareff 36 years old, French.

The next one was:
"As long as the Colosseum exists, Rome will not exist.
When the Colosseum falls, so does Rome
and it's the end of the world"

-said by a medieval monk who saw the Colosseum
So yeah....

The animation on secco was wild!! Poor buccarati and his good hands.
So...how exactly did the car "burst" his eardrums? I didn't hear the horn go off.

Why wouldnt Bruno just kill him? He was gonna kill gio day 1. And that looks like the boss he just kidnapped hehe how convenient.

Damn, these parts give me anxiety! Are we losing Bruno??
