All that food discussion made me hungry. Plus it was hilarious.
it was an o.k. episode. alot of random stuff but somewhat decent.
Oh..Lol <3 Lucky channel. xD!
3/5
The only anime to make me yell out "WTF!?!!?" aloud, lol...
The food discussion was downright random and so was a lot of the rest, but somehow, the anime's interesting to say the least ^^

agree. and like running_lemmon puts it - the most pointless thing I've ever watched!
ok I've just went through the reviews and it doesn't look good. Obviously if all episodes r gonna b like that... I meant look at ep 1 itself, it is being rated a score of 3 or 4 outta 5!?! The people in here must be seriously biased to do something like that.
I laughed once, at the girls reaction to how much super idols get paid. I wasn't expecting much and was still fairly disappointed, gonna put this on hold for the time being.
It's was slightly funny and cute (Especially at the end! That's how I sing :D), but the all of the characters look like they are in Elementry school. And they spend WAY too long talking about food. I'll keep watching it and see if it will get better.

((BTW. Is mayonnaise made differently in Japan? Though in America mayonnaise is made with eggs, I don't think it will taste good on eggs....?))
Hmmm.. yeah this series is pretty... different lol. I will say. the random jumping around with different subjects was just to fast paced for me and didn't seem like it was in any particular order. Anyways this series has very high reviews on here and personally i don't see why. I was expecting something more similar to like Clannad or Kannon. I will continue to watch it though and hope it gets better. I have to admit that long conversation involving food got me pretty hungry lol.
Hmm. I kind of like this episode. Not as much as I like Azumanga Daioh's first episode, I'll grant. I already knew the first episode was a lot of food talk, so I wasn't surprised when it happened.
I think I'm going to hold off on voting until I hear the original voices and see how they put things in the subtitles.
"Say, Tsukasa, how do you eat a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?"
I laughed three times. I like shows that revolve around conversations between characters but for most of this episode I wasn't interested in what they were talking about. I assume it would be different if I was Japanese. Still, I haven't dropped an anime yet so I'll give it a chance.
Well, they talked about food for about half the main segment (that is, they talked about it for most of the first half, and then reprised it with Kagami in the second half). Other subjects: how much more important anime is to Konata than her athletic prowess; an effect of h-games on behavior toward young girls; as mentioned, the cold and flu thing; actions that evoke moe; friends... that sort of thing.
We're sort of establishing the characters that we'll be seeing for 23 more episodes... and the OVA, for that matter.
"Say, Tsukasa, how do you eat a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?"
Well it had some great memories for my first time watching it, I would atleast say that this is Lucky star at it's evolution stage. I started getting interested at episode 3.
Woah so much hate. (this is coming from a Lucky Star hater) LOL
Anyways, the first episode wasn't THAT bad. It had some good moments, but it also had some dull moments I will agree. The food part at the beginning was pretty funny, wasn't a huge fan of the flu/cold part though. I liked how they randomly switched from the topics food, cold, and then back to food though. xD
I love Lucky Star, but i didn't like this particular this episode... no offense to the people that liked this episode but it wasn't really enjoyable to me.
I heard that this is a good anime but the problem is that i heard is seinen and im a guy and i dont like things to boring like only talk i need action doing something?
Is this worth to wacht?
Interesting...?
This was a very confusing, but fun first episode. It was like random stuff thrown together without any connection whatsoever. Yet I still found most of the dialogue pretty funny :) So I will surely not drop this series, though it will also need some kind of a little story that can hold together the little scenes.
Characters are likeable so far, and Konata is win. I really like her style, no wonder how many favorites she has.
The OP wasn't really new to me, I've heard it many times before, and I like it. It's that "weird and so bad its actually good" type of song :)

If you're concerned about that, then I would recommend that you stay away from this series, because a lot of it is talk.
"Say, Tsukasa, how do you eat a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?"
Just realized one of my favorite tracks from the J-core Masterz series uses Lucky Star's opening theme. This will take a moment to sink in.
Apart from that, the episode was kind of haphazard, but animation+characters+humor are all likeable, so I didn't mind they were introduced with foodtalk (Japanese generic topic 101).
This episode had WAY too much talking, even in the beginning I was getting sleepy. The part that saved it was Konata and the "Lucky Star Channel" where the girl quickly changes moods, hilarious! XD
Ill watch the rest of the episodes but no hurry...
The first episode says it all on the originality of this anime series. The opening is fantastic and the characters are cute though sketchy, on all outstanding Konata! Right first time!
First episode of my first anime I watched it... dubbed. Nevertheless, I find it a pretty nice episode, showing it's 'structure' of how this anime goes.
My god, those girls would not shut-up! I mean, I don't think I've ever seen an anime where they talk for every single minute of the show, usually there's a few seconds of silence but no, not this time.
I'm watching the dub instead and I must say l'm perfectly fine with the voices, it certainly helps that I'm familiar with Tsukasa Hiiragi's english voice actor.
Overall I wouldn't say I found it boring, more like disbelief. Looking forward to this anime, especially since my friend told me the first ep is worst out of all of them.
This was one series I've kept hearing about & decided to give it a go.
Quite random but amusing in places, the food talk was probably the highlight.
It was just about the main 4 girls, with the twins Mum being the only other to to get much screentime. For some reason almost every anime I've watched has Kikuko Inoue supplying a voice, it's not like I go out of my way to watch things she's done.
I normally give 1st episodes some leeway to allow things to settle down.
I'm hoping things will pickup, some series need an episode or 2 to get into the swing of things.
The OP was good, & the ending was smart by not just singing but having some chat over the beginning.
Even though this episode has its moments (like the street figthers parody) i think this is not for me.... ill apply teh 3 episode rule, and the im out (at least i think i will)
