| So, I was looking at the credits of That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime and there's only the credits of the original character designer for the artist of the LN which is Mitz Vah. Here in MAL for some reason the manga artist is also listed but in the anime adaptation he's not there at all https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=20736 And with that I also believe that the anime is adapting the Light Novel and not the manga adaptation, otherwise the artist of the manga would be credited. |

Did you actually look at the credits of Slime or did you only look at ANN? Because I did not see "Original Character Designer" role キャラクター原案 or オリジナルキャラクターデザイン is Slime's OP/ED whatsoever. I did see https://youtu.be/aJSCAOpAe6I?t=21 It says: Original Work Kawakami Taiki·Fuse·Mitz Vah (Kodansha "Monthly Shounen Sirius" serialization) Mitz Vah did the character designs for the manga, you can even see his name credited as such on the covers of every manga volume. MAL only has two staff positions for original people. That is Original Creator (the writers) and Original Character Designer (the drawers). Since there are two drawers both are credited the same role. |

| Ican't remember if I posted this before somewhere, so I'm posting it here. Simply put, GC May are not the animators for the majority of the Balala the Fairies series, only Ba La La Xiao Mo Xian Zhi: Meng Huan Xuan Lu https://myanimelist.net/anime/30156/Ba_La_La_Xiao_Mo_Xian_Zhi__Meng_Huan_Xuan_Lu which is the third animated seasons (and fifth season in the franchise overall) They probably should also be listed as the studio instead, and not under producers. The producers of the Balala franchise in general being Alpha Animation (which I think isn't in the database) Alpha Animation is the producers of a bunch of shows with toy franchises actually, including Infinity Nado, Blazing Teens, Flash and Dash being among them, as well as the Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf series. http://www.auldeytoys.com/en/ https://www.gdalpha.com/star/index.html Incidentally, they also own U17. As for the other seasons, of Balala the Fairies, the first two animated seasons (and second and third seasons overall) https://myanimelist.net/anime/30519/Ba_La_La_Xiao_Mo_Xian_Zhi__Caihong_Xin_Shi https://myanimelist.net/anime/31965/Ba_La_La_Xiao_Mo_Xian_Zhi__Qiji_Wubu are animated by 2e Animation (aka Tuyi Animation). http://2e-animate.com/a/hekuzhizuo/ Meanwhile the fourth animated season (and sixth season in the franchise overall) the one that started the precure/power rangers-esque trend of changing casts and settings every season https://myanimelist.net/anime/34410/Ba_La_La_Xiao_Mo_Xian_Zhi__Feiyue_Cai_Ling_Bao https://myanimelist.net/anime/34669/Ba_La_La_Xiao_Mo_Xian_Zhi__Feiyue_Cai_Ling_Bao_2nd_Season is animated by Qianqi Animation http://www.gzqq.net/ I haven't looked into the currently airing fifth animated season (seventh overall) yet, but I think it's safe to say from the animation style that it isn't GC May either. |

And to add on to your post. The anime's Type should be changed to ONA. As the anime was streamed digitally for 22 episodes (since we're documenting that instead of the limited theater run of the show as 7 films on the same day as the digital releases). BD/DVDs were released later so OVA shouldn't be its type. |

The BD's had limited releases in their 4-episode per volume form during the course of each Chapter's theatre/cinema screenings from day one of each screening. They were shown as and released as OVAs. Streaming only began weeks after their release and in the case of western distribution "months" after the release of Chapters 1 ~ 4. (Episodes 01 - 14) There was no digital release day 1 of the Cinema screenings. I have no clue where you got that info from. |

That makes it even more exclusive than the theatrical airing. The MAL entry should reflect the broadest release of the launch day which is the digital airing because anyone and Japan could view it. Nation wide digital release, limited theater release, and even more limited BD release--all on the same day. Doesn't matter how limited the BD releases are on release date, it doesn't change the fact that the animated work was "made for home video release" first and foremost. And is an "original video animation", an OVA. ONA's are made for the web first and foremost, exclusively might I add. ONA's are in most cases shorter than average length, promotional in nature or side stories. As the home video release is set on day one of the cinema screenings, I see it as an add-on that they were streamed online in Japan rather than that being the purpose. Otherwise we should call Gundam: The Origin an ONA because it streamed on Daisuki from day one-, despite the creators themselves referring to the show as a "high-budget OVA-series" aimed at cinema releases. It is unheard of that ONA series get physical complete releases day one of streaming. Because then it wouldn't be an ONA anymore, seeing as it was made for home video in mind from the beginning. And limited stock? Sure it was, but most volumes didn't sell put completely until after a week or 2 of their respective cinema screenings. Chapter 6 was an exception, seeing as it only took 4-5 days to sell all copies of the limited edition BD. And just like the streaming services/digital downloads services you pay to enjoy it at your home, with regular blu-ray release scheduled for 1-2 months after cinema screenings are over. Making sure that those who buy the more expensive BDs at cinema can enjoy their privilege for their money's worth. That's what separates this as an OVA compared to ONAs like the last 4 episodes of Angels of Death or Twilight Axis. The latter two were "only" streamed, with a BD release of twilight axis releasing half a year after its streaming following a compilation movie of its source 6 episodes aired together with Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower. Angels of Death (the 4 ONA episodes) have yet to see a home video release, aimed at February 2019 which is... About 4-5 months after they aired. |

An ONA by MAL definition is the format of a release. It is not defined by content. Nor are OVAs and Movies defined by content. https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=141101 Gundam: The Origin currently uses the DVD/BD start air date and the Theater end air date. It needs correction in general. But it’s up to the mods to decide if streaming on 1 site is in the realm of pre-air/too-limited-airing as I mentioned before that they do ignore for entries. And the same applies to the limited theater airing it had too just like Yamato’s theater airing. But Yamato’s six streaming websites definitely don’t fall into that realm of limited airing. What a creator calls it does not matter. We have anime that never aired in theaters called Movies. https://myanimelist.net/anime/2262/Sin__The_Movie https://myanimelist.net/anime/34475/Monster_Strike__Rain_of_Memories and short specials called OVAs by the creators https://myanimelist.net/anime/27633/Gekkan_Shoujo_Nozaki-kun_Specials https://myanimelist.net/anime/21373/Freezing_Vibration_Specials but MAL does not change the type just because the creator called it as such. |

An ONA is really just a digital home-video release. "An ONA is really just a digital home video release." Nothing in the post you linked indicated that. In fact, there was no clarification on the difference between an ONA and an OVA at all. I read through the whole thing so please share your source. However, there is a description of how they view "OVA's" and it reads as this: "The OVA series type is reserved for episodes that are released independently from TV series or movies." Day one release with a regular BD/DVD release pre-planned up to 4 months before airing in theatres seems pretty independently to me. Ie; the pre-orders for the original video animation go up 4 months before the theatre screenings, that's way ahead of both streaming and theatre runs. And isn't limited to certain copies, only the pre-order bonus is. If an ONA was "really just a digital home video release" it would still qualify as an OVA, seeing as it was both released on streaming and BD/DVD on the same day. For some volumes, only "certain streaming sites" allowed the movie to be streamed, contrasted with most of the theatres which were showing Yamato (if not all) selling the BD/DVD until the stock ran out. But I guess most TV anime are ONA's now according to you because they happen to be streamed here in the west on Crunchyroll,Funimation, HiDive, Daisuki (discontinued), Amazon Strike (Or whatever it's called)? ONA's are made for web. This most certainly was not. The digital release was buy or rent only, you did not just "stream it" like you would a regular ONA. |

| @MadaoPriest >Nothing in the post you linked indicated that. "The first release of an anime is the most important one, as long as the majority of it was released that way. For example, if only the first episode was pre-aired online and the rest is released on TV, that would make the entry a TV series and not an ONA." Types are designated by how they are actually released, not designated by how the content within it was 'made for x'. >But I guess most TV anime are ONA's now according to you because they happen to be streamed here in the west on Crunchyroll,Funimation, HiDive, Daisuki (discontinued), Amazon Strike (Or whatever it's called)? ???what Who cares how it's released in the west. We're talking about Japan's release. >The digital release was buy or rent only, you did not just "stream it" like you would a regular ONA. Regular ONAs like with films, ovas, and televisions shows do require you to give monetary exchange for the services provided. For Japanese people to watch Ingress the Animation they need to pay for Netflix. Or they could wait and watch it weekly on Fuji TV, the satellite they pay for. Again on the same day people could pay to see it in theaters if they were lucky enough to be near one of the 15 for the first film, and they could pay to see it on BD/DVD if they went those theaters and physically purchased the disc to take home, and they could pay to see it online anywhere in the country from multiple platforms. Since the first release and the majority release are identical for the Yamato series, the widest reaching release it taken into consideration next. Which is why pre-airs are excluded because they are very limited. |

For example, if only the first episode was pre-aired online and the rest is released on TV, that would make the entry a TV series and not an ONA." ^ This here is a very dishonest example to use, as "1 episode pre-airing" does not compare to 15 theatres screening the OVA for 4 weeks straight. They are not "limited events", they run for a month straight and you're free to pre-order (ie; the first monetary exchange available) the regular BD/DVD release up to 4 months before the chapter in question is released in theatres and "some streaming services" as well as buy it on the first day. >who cares how it was released in the west You first mentioned "initial release" without even mentioning national or international release. Another dishonest counterargument seeing as I responded to that query by using an example where distribution happens on the same day online via streaming services as the TV airing in Japan. Ingress was only made for for streaming, no other venues. And "regular ONA's" don't necessarily require montary exchange. There are several examples of ONAs released for free as promotion, which is a part of the norm. |

According to MAL genre explanations, "Yuri - Anime whose central theme is a sexual relationship between two girls or women. This implies Hentai." Nothing that would fit this description has been shown in the anime so far, and seeing how the manga doesn't have this tag either, I think the current tag, "shoujo ai" is enough and doesn't need to be changed. |

Also it has 12 episodes source 1: https://www.tvtime.com/en/show/341733 source 2: https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/35550/everlasting-immortal-firmament/episodes I think maybe the 23rd instead. Because the show legally streamed on the producer's website and the video's comments time stamps for ep 12 at the earliest started on May 23rd. I think that might be due to time zone difference maybe. I opened the official website and it was 24 on my device (The user with first comment had profile picture of Oriemo character). The local time difference of my country (Pakistan) to China is 3 hours I'm in America and it's 05-23 for two users with the OreImo one like you saw https://imgur.com/a/4EwCQg3 But on the users' pages it lists 05-24 instead https://www.iqiyi.com/paopao/u/2458538041/ https://www.iqiyi.com/paopao/u/1303995660/ When I log into VPN and set Beijing as my location and launch my browser to go to IQIYI, the dates for both don't change. https://imgur.com/a/Fq7wyPm (The VPN speed I have is slow so I can't display the profile images while connected.) I'm really perplexed as to how the timestamps are functioning on IQIYI. That's somewhat strange. Here is a screenshot from my device and it displays May 24 for both these @zanetu has helped with a lot of Chinese entries and Chinese translations for the database and the Chinese Anime club. Perhaps he actually lives in China? If he does, it's be great if he can see the timestamp of the comments on the video https://www.iqiyi.com/v_19rrdb91os.html so we know for sure what the time stamp is to a native in China IRL. Or maybe how IQIYI's timestamp feature functions. Or knows of a metadata site that can extract the video information relative to UTC and then we can manually convert to China's zone (like with yt vids and finding the Japanese airdate) any progress on this entry? |
