| This episode is easily, for me, the best episode thus far. At the time of this posting 94%+ of the voting is a 5 (1,800 out of 1,906) and mine is one of them! Such an outstanding depiction of 02. I am really, really interested to see what she does next episode. |

If 14-15 episodes will be good, we could witness vol. 1 selling ~5000 copies in first week (before ep. 13 the expectations were lower than 3000), which should be enough for the show not to flop. Though, considering the existence of their "Darli-Fra stores", we can also expect some people buying it offline too. Why am I not surprised: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/streetfighty0?status=7&order=-4 Some of them don't even try to hide. 10/10s for their favorite shows and a lonely 1/10 for DitF. And nothing else. Nothing. |

I can't see how is this NOT worrying, tbh... Saturday, before episode 13: approximately 350 "appailing" votes. Tuesday, after episode 13: there are now 450 users scoring Darling in the Franxx with 1/10. It was the best episode so far for so many people, yet the number of absolute worst scores has increased by 25-30% in a couple of days. I wouldn't care too much about MAL ratings tbh |

That's how it is. It's easy to make alts and you can't fight it. It's going to happen every season with every anime that gets somewhat popular. And everything comes back to fact that you shouldn't take ratings seriously. Or too seriously, at least. And don't even get me started on MAL reviews, they are an even bigger joke. In the end it all comes down to your own enjoment, doesn't it? |

It is. Though, I believe, enjoyment (or lack of it) is a consequential result of having specific expectations. And as much as I'd like to disagree with the following statement - sometimes I find myself influenced by ratings and scores. It's not the numbers that make me feel irritated - it's the doubts and uncertainty that slowly creeps deep into my thoughts before I start watching something. "Is it good? Is it bad?" Anyway. People tend to fall right into the trap of "let me take a look at top-100-anime-list". And then they make the same mistakes again and again, continuing to pour all their thoughts - raw and unfiltered - into the reviews, scores, and into the minds of unsuspecting "victims". It's a vicious circle of bullshit. Of course it's better to stay away from all of this. But we're weak and we crave for some feedback, resulting in... going back into this circle (or cycle? eh, whatever). |

| I really hope they don't make the storyline go in the same direction as the storybook. Despite the happiness in it that ending would be too sad for Hiro and Zero Two. |

| it makes all senses now even why zero two has the habit to lick other people. The reason for her habit lies in the past cuz of hiro. One of the best episodes Ive ever seen. btw. does anyone notice that zero two was the one, who actually proposed to hiro? |

She would've straight up betray him like the others Since EP 1 is arguable. We know that 02's ultimate goal is to "become human" so that she can be with her Darling. Which she believes she can only do by killing all the Klaxosaurs. We also know from EP 11(Right? Maybe 12?) that during her time with Hiro, her "klaxosaur-ification" has accelerated rapidly, you can see it in her horns and fangs getting longer, plus them just saying it outright. Additionally, after Hiro gave her the hand mirror as a gift, you can see a very clear and steady decline in her mental state, almost assuredly brought about by self loathing. You can see her shattering all the reflective surfaces in the dorm/barracks/child solider resort or whatever they live in. Additionally, you can see a SUPER clear difference in how she treats Hiro starting in EP 10 (which is after she gets the mirror). I think she had a crush on Hiro from eps 1-9, then when she started to believe that she was running out of time to "deklaxosaur" herself (eps 10-12) she decided to try and distance herself from him emotionally, since she believed that she was running out of time to save herself, and was prepared to sacrifice Hiro to try and delay that. I think 02 views her klaxosaur-ness the same way most cancer victims view cancer. Something that they can learn to live with for a time, but need to find treatment (killing klaxosaurs), and can even go into remission, but it will always be there, waiting for a chance to come back (we know from EP 13 that she used to be full on Oni mode,but later toned it down to essentially human. We don't know how this happened, but we saw in eps 10-12, that it certainly wasn't permanent), and ultimately, if not treated, it can be very deadly (I think 02 views a failure to become human as a fate that might as well be worse than death). I think in EP 12, 02 was willing to sacrifice Hiro to try and "enter remission" if just temporarily, or if not to "enter remission" I think she, in her frantic mental state, at least believed that she could draw closer to her goal of saving herself by sacrificing Hiro. I might be totally off the mark, but that's the vibe I'm getting. We'll have to wait for EP 14 to know more. |
