Didn't cry when Nagisa was written off but
Simply felt like my stomach was turning inside out, and died a bit inside.

Next EP
Watching Tomoya 5 yrs in made me want to throw a tantrum, along with my whole desktop
Saddened by this kind of reality, I still couldn't cry...

But..

When you see the MC finally snap out of it.. when you see him realizing..
That moment when he hugged his daughter and kept repeating 'Im sorry' over and over..

That's when I started bawling my eyes out!

and sunabitch! I didn't prepare no god damn tissues.. left me in a benevolent mood of this world. Someone said Clannad can inspire people in ways. That person was correct.

I noticed what I said in a previous episode stands true. Say what you want, but Nagisa's death wasn't able to cry, but made my eyes water a little, but this episode was truly the first episode in all of Clannad that made me cry and the emotions were powerful. I think that it was much more relatable to me personally and it was truly a wonderful episode. 5/5

This is the first episode in the whole anime and actually, in any anime that tears have spilt from my eyes, yes, I cried. Wait, there might have been an episode of Nana where I let a tear slip...

This episode was sensationally done and I wouldn't have cried if Okazaki didn't start! Wow, just wow, it was good.

With all my feels happening, I forgot to put in my theory. Could Ushio be that kid in the place where the world has ended? That robot Okazaki got Ushio was almost exactly the same as the one from that other land. At first, I thought it had to be Nagisa and Okazaki but I'm not too sure now...

Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!

Count me in, this episode has also brought tears to my eyes. Why does this anime have to be so sad but yet so beautiful!

It really got me :/

"... and in daddy's arms." I lost it T_T

I'm still new to anime so I don't know how normal this is, but when Ushio is crying it really sounds like an adult actor making a weird face. I haven't heard an adult actor portraying a crying child in anime that doesn't sound extremely annoying. That sound in the middle of an emotional climax in this episode almost spoiled it for me. Seriously winced with tears already in my eyes lol.

Dear anime,
Plz consider using child voice actors for young child roles instead of asking the salaried adults to just scrunch their noses or something. thx!

Nagisa's death didn't make me cry (almost like Tomoya) couldn't really believe it at the time.

But this episode.. Ushio's "in Daddy's arms", broke down after that moment.

And again with the reminiscing about Nagisa.

Hope Tomoya becomes a good father to make Nagisa proud.

A bit late to the party, but wow this episode was the best so far. As with many people I wasn't really able to cry when Nagisa initially died. But the culmination of Ushio, Nagisa reminiscing and just seeing Tomoya cry did it for me.

Now if you will excuse me, I have some crying to do ;_;

I've watched the series 5 times, and this episode is by far the saddest. Not just the saddest episode of this series though...it's honestly the saddest thing I've ever seen. Maybe sad isn't the best word since it's really a string of goodness and happiness, but damn. If nothing else did, this episode is what solidified Clannad as perfect in my mind.

definitely best episode yet.
i actually didn't cry when nagisa died because i had no idea if she was actually dead until the very end so i was in an awkward state of relief/bewilderment the entire time!

this episode really hit me hard though. the moment when she asks tomoya if it's okay to cry now and he holds her was too much. on the train home when he starts remembering nagisa then triggered the tears that i missed from her death last night and jesus.

This episode was beautiful. I'm sad that it's coming to an end soon since I doubt i'll ever find anything like this show again.

Such an emotional episode. I was so sad and so happy while watching it. Finally Tomoya will take care of Ushio. It was interesting to know more about Tomoya's past and his relationship with father when he was a kid. 5/5 for this ep.

Also, a wild onion appeared and said "chop me" and I was like "no, tear, go back" but it didn't go back.
Those were the first tears while watching after story.

So moving. This is by far the best episode of ~AS~, I cry every time I see it. And I'm the type of person who didn't even feel a twinge of sadness with the death of two grandparents (yes I thought I was a robot for a few years) so having someone like me cry shows just how emotionally beautiful it is. It's not just sad, it's also so touching that the tears can't stop.5/5

But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

When Ushio said "Daddy" for the first time I pretty much instantly burst into tears. That whole conversation and Tomoya telling Ushio about Nagisa on the train and having his flashbacks also made me tear up/cry.

It was also nice to get some more backstory to Tomoya and his Dad.

This was a brilliant episode, easily a 10/10 from me.

I admit I shed some tears again too...

And yeah, it's sad how KyoAni's recent anime just can't match up to Clannad. I still have some faith in them tho ;)
The most annoying thing about some anime is that they don't know when they've died...

Same. I've watched the 42 episodes of this series up here and nothing really got to me (in fact, I was laughing a lot during the "serious" moments of season 1). Episode 16 was a start. I get to this episode and, finally, it hits me hard. I was crying as much as Tomoya, maybe more. This series got infinitely better when it started focusing on Tomoya and Nagisa. However, even with the weaker beginnings, now it all feels like a wonderful build up to this point. Damn, made a believer outta me.

And Ushio is too adorable. It's hard not to feel sad when she is.

God, what's next? O__O
