| We have no way of knowing until we get serious Blu-ray and DVD sales numbers from Japan. And I don't think volume discs go out until the end of December. Currently Rakudai is trending just above the middle of the pack, it's in the top 30% or so. Now that Episode 4 has hit and it's gone up a bit in popularity, it might pick up some steam. It's doing better than Asterisk though which is already green lit for a second season. It's doing better than One Punch Man too. And the LNs have gotten a sales bump as a result. I'd say that it has a decent chance of a Season 2. Not a sure thing by any stretch, but a chance. If it carries on with the momentum of Episode 4, it might be able to win viewers over enough to make it happen. |

| Depends on Blu-ray sells. Even if it does sell well, it depends on the studio and source material. One of the most popular novel adaptation (well it got 3 seasons, so that means its popular), DxD, needs 1.5 years in between sequels to air. I'm not sure why Gakusen is doing a split-cour, it could be either they're stretching it out or the studio have a very good confidence in the series that they will adapt it for two seasons. Although we could not be sure that the numbers of popularity will determine the number of sales. Gakkou Gurashi was the 2nd most popular anime talked about on Twitter during Summer, just behind Charlotte. Their manga sales was also boosted by 10x, but their BD sales? Only 2k-3k which is kind of below average. |

| I think you asked the question a bit too early. However, unless the disk sale numbers gonna turn out to be above/around 7K, there SHALL NOT be a sequel. Silverlink's sequels are undeniably based on those numbers. The only three shows from them that got sequels (excluding OVAs/Specials which are given for any series now a days) had that magic number attached to them. Anything below that number NEVER got a sequel. At least up until now. |

| Something that kinda scares me that I seen recently was that Strike The Blood is made by Silver Link [Cavalrys studio] and sold I forget the exact number but right around 50k discs at around 6k per volume which is great and is pretty popular. It was released in 2013 and is yet to get word of a second season after 3 years. I don't know anything about that show or how stuff went with it's source or anything like that but assuming source boosts where even average/decent this scares me in comparison Cavs disc sales are looking to total anywhere from 13-18k Let's hope Cavalry get's it's second season and hopefully not have to wait 3-5 years if it does. I think that's a huge mistake alot of company's make in waiting to long and letting hype slow down when making sequels. |

There's a lot more that factors in, but the central point is the biggest influence on new seasons is the LN publisher except in box office smashing exceptions. If the blu-rays sell like shit, then obviously you wont get a second season because no Animation Studio will want to make the adaptation. But as long as the Blu-rays profit, which Rakudai's are, Silver Link will be open to another season because no one hates money. The only time disc sales matter in pushing another season is if they sell an over-whelming amount to where the Animation Studio is practically willing to fund the investment in another season itself. Again, in Rakudai's case, Silver Link turned a profit, but not enough that they'd willingly shell out the investment themselves for another season. So another season is only going to happen if the LN publisher decides the spike in sales from the anime gave them enough of a profit boost to justify a 2nd season in hopes they'll gain an addition ROI boost. The actual best case scenario is that the LN's received a significant boost from the Rakudai anime (they did), and that the boost dropped off sharply after the anime finished airing (it did). What sucks is when, such as with the Devil is a Part-Timer novels, the LN sales are boosted and stay boosted after the show ends, derailing the idea of any further investment. So from the Rakudai LN's publishers perspective, as long as that boost created a net increase in profit greater than their committee investment in the show, another season is worth it. That is the part none of us know and never will know unless SoftBank Creative (the LN publisher) releases profit figures, which is unlikely, or they invest in another season ;P |

| I hope there will be a season 2, I really did enjoy this anime. It kind of had everything that I was looking for (action/romance/a little comedy). I really liked episode 4, the feeling when no one else thinks Ikki could do it but one cheer from someone special and it motivates him to victory was awesome, anyway I am just really hyped right now as I have just finished watching. SEASON 2 PLEASE :D |

| I hope they make a second season. Hopefully they also realize its popularity in the west as well when taking into consideration on whether to make a season 2 or not. I thought the BD sales were fairly decent, not spectacular, but satisfactory. And the LN sale boost did happen. I really hope they take a chance on this show because it is truly a diamond in the rough. |
| So... its 2017 and there's still no news yet. Granted, I just found out about this anime recently but a 12 episode season with any OVA's yet is extremely disheartening. I'm keeping a close eye on this one. |
