Well the comedy aspect is gone and all that remains is a fairly generic fantasy school show. Hopefully it returns because a lot of stuff in this episode was bad. That teacher should be dead from blood loss even before he started to using blood magic. Also the amount of info dumping in this episode was bonkers, so rushed.

He reminds me of Kiritsugu, wanted be a hero but failed.
The whole naming convention with 'mage of justice' and 'hero of justice' is too similar... Though I guess he is attempting again, in a way similar to how Shirou succeeded Kiritsugu(or at least try to)

I liked Sisti a lot more this episode. Though Rumia is awesome as usual.
I think the combat is done fairly well, he isn't all that over powered as I originally worried. But I hope there isn't this power creep thing. Since early villains are usually weak. I was bothered how he was stabbed 4 times and didn't die from blood loss, while the enemy died after one stab.
Nice he think of tactics rather than brute force.

Otherwise it was great, the whole Rumia's ability seemed like a method to get him out of the situation or just to help him realize her status. Well it kind of ended like that but didn't feel like it. Nonetheless, she still looked so beautiful when giving him strength.

The ending is a bit cheesy though. Oh well, good so far.

I felt that this episode is rushed.. well, maybe because I read the manga already last week.. hmm.. still it means more content for the anime I guess, so still good.. also, ep3 and finally we got the OP..

I'm starting to like the voice of Sistine more and more.. I can't imagine that she's also Sagiri in Eromanga-sensei.. hope the seiyuu get more roles in the future..

and that end credit scene.. Akashic Records is.. hahaha.. lol Glenn and Celica are both trolls to the core!! XD

Superb episode, personally i felt the fast pace was actually really fitting, because this was a tense situation and time was of the essence. Im glad my theory about Glenn being an assassin was correct and i like the fact he has parallels with Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero and Archer Emiya as well. Glenn's so far my favorite MC this season. Also dont get why people are complaining about the lack of comedy, it would've been completely against the tone of the episode and would have felt unnecessary and jarring.

Not a bad episode, so will the 3rd harem member appear on the next ep?

Nice Shiro Neko Art, but it's what's under her skirt is what should be awesome.

That was a fantastic episode, I considered dropping it after finding the first episode to be in the meh side, but the last 2 episodes excluding the cliche rape scene were great. Raising my expectations for a pretty bad season for me.

Loving the comedy as well, thank mr skeltal

The episode felt a bit rushed but I thought it was still great regardless. The comedy wasn't that present and only there were few bit jokes, the rest is serious which in terms of how that was done it was pretty nice.

Glenn caring for the students and all in the end is a plus for me considering he has been growing a bit within the last prior episodes. Also I'm interested in his backstory since he said he wanted to be a "Mage of Justice" but he never got it... instead he was something else or well did something up. Reminds me of Archer from Fate xD

Well, another great episode but they definitely had to rush through the events to cover everything in this one episode. The studio could have taken a little more time and added one more episode to flesh out the battles over the past two episodes, but they still did a good job of covering most of the important content. For the bigger fans, I do recommend reading the manga chapters of this arc (and probably the others) as they do flesh things out a little better.

Glenn being a badass and Sistine having some great moments as usual. Nice little looks at Sera here (which is a good sign for how far the anime adaptation will go) and Rumia being Rumia. Next up is the Magic Competition arc which was one of my personal favorites, and I'm very excited to see it adapted. This is where basically Glenn is confirmed as greatest MC ever. Bring it on!!

This series started off well but has withered since due to the fast pacing of this episode, I hope that now since they are through that trashy "kidnapped princess" arc that felt unnecessary and rushed that the series will pick up.

Glenn obviously has a link to Sistina as that woman looked like her, I can't wait to see that unfold.

Overall its been a good start, not astounding but I am being optimistic for it's future.

100% agree with everyone that this felt rushed. It is. One fight and Glenn doing really cool flying acrobatics was skipped completely, not to mention an entire backstory of Glenn during his time he passed out. In this, they also just stayed in the hallway. In the manga, Sistine moved him to the nurse's office and bandaged him up.

This is what happens when an anime is only given 12 episodes a season instead of the rightful 24. I can just imagine how much is going to be passed over.

Also, it's not as comedic as the first two episodes imply. It's has comedic spots, but for those crying over how generic it is now, expect more of that. It all depends on what's skipped and what's kept in.
I reject your reality, and substitute my own.

Lol Sistine's reaction on warning Glenn about his pants lol
The cult is certainly here for Rumia though thats for sure
A research society of evil mages eh lol
Hmm so it seems that in the past both Glenn and Celica were high ranking members of the military or something. At least someone with authority.
I can understand why Sistine is so frustrated though because despite her skills she wasn't able to protect Rumia and it's also because of magic that put Rumia in this situation as well.

Its nice that Glenn has the determination to protect his students though
Rumia's words have really opened Glenn's eyes on magic though
And it seems the guy that he knocked out is awake once more
Hmm skeleton warriors eh
Lol to your boss you are another liability as well lol
Hmm Sistine used enhancement magic to help Glenn eh Pretty timely actually
Sistine using both Rumia and Glenn as motivation to help her create the spells that she needs eh.
Wow Glenn's explosive spell was certainly impressive
if a little overboard lol
Hmm this new opponent will be tough to deal with for Glenn
This guy looks to be both tough and smart as well which is a bad combo for bad guys
This is a even match it seems
Lol Glenn is no not an easy opponent though even for this guy
Hmm so shoving Sistine out was actually part of his plan eh
Glad that Sistine was smart enough to realize Glenn's intent

Hmm so Glenn had similar sentiments to Rumia in that he too wanted to use magic to help people. A mage of justice eh.
Hmm well with the barrier up they walled themselves in as they won't be able to escape once the academy is surrounded. But not if they have another means to escape with.
Hmm to think that the traitor in the academy was actually the teacher that Glenn came to replace. Hmm Huey thought of everything eh. Defuse the bomb and save Rumia in time or flee and leave Rumia to die. Using his blood as the catalyst for the spell wow thats unexpected. Five layers to write man this will be tough. Rumia will sacrifice herself if it meant she could save her friends life which is why i like her so much. Glenn though as the same exact personality though having awakened to how magic can be used by her words. Glenn's motivation comes from his ideas eh and also from that woman that was shown in his flashback. I think Rumia is starting to realize that Glenn was the same person that saved her in the past and the mage that she values so much as well. Even more so after this incident. Glenn's really going all out eh. Hmm so Rumia also has a special ability as well too eh. The power to enhance a mages power by physical contact eh. Amplifiers eh what a apt term.

Lol Glenn gets to use Rumia's lap as a lap pillow lol
well he deserves it i guess as he managed to purge the enemies by himself mostly
Hmm so Rumia is actually a princess eh
Its nice that Glenn is now more serious with teaching and at the same time interested in seeing what his students are capable off.

My problem with the show is with the enemies. Evil people don't call themselves "evil". They are too generic, and what is the point sending your warriors to kill your own person when you haven't accomplished your own goal yet?

I was a tad bit disappointed with this episode. This anime just attempted a deep dive into seriousness, but I don't think it worked out very well. Too many things in just 20 minutes!

Also lol @ the blond bad guy who claimed he was extremely dangerous, yet he did absolutely nothing while Glenn was writing stuff with his blood as slowly as possible. He could have just punched him, but all he did was watch, and in the end he was like "I've lost, huh?"...well, what do ya think, pal? And then he just stood there waiting to be hit...! This part was not written well.

What I'm already disliking the most is the cliche "MC has a tragic past with a love interest involved". We don't know if the white haired woman is indeed a love interest, but I'm guessing that's what it is. And that's so...common.

Selica is not in relation with military, she you regular several hundred years old girl that just happen be important by courtesy of being strongest magician on continent and creator of several revolutionary magics.

As for Huey, he was great teacher of course he was happy when Glenn stopped him from massacring own students, I don't see how is that bad writing...

sometimes cliche plot is something to spiced up the story, or that cliche plot is just needed...or so, said the MC of LN i read that tells a story about light novel writer (manuscript submitter) and the manuscript screener

I'm a bit puzzled how people wanted _more_ zany humour in a setting as bloody and dead serious as this. If anything, I'm glad that they went light on it in this episode, it would have matched up like sardines with strawberry marmalade.

Well done, looking forward to the next arcs.

This episode delivers nuanced action with character development. Glenn really showed his talent as a fighter, what with his skills to disarm enemies with nothing but his wits to survive. Sistine and Lumia were spectacular as well, their relationships with Glenn were handled beautifully. Still, the episode was somewhat lacking in world-building and wer'e still somewhat in the dark about the character's backstories. Oh, well, at least the show is picking up steam.

The episode was definitely more fast paced than the previous two, but I don't think it was bad at all. You guys ought to try the monogatari series lol. To be honest, I'd rather they try to include more story than only give a little taste and end up not having a second season, as is the norm with magical academy anime. And the way they put all the info in was pretty good. Besides the backstory, it doesn't look like the manga offered that much more anyway.

Obviously they'll get to his backstory from the manga in a future episode, otherwise they wouldn't have included the "I wanted to be a mage of justice" bit at all.

So far this show seems somewhat enjoyable but also lacking in important areas. Overall it just seems very light-novelly to me, and there aren't a whole lot of new ideas being presented. I do admit that the show is pretty funny at times but the characters seem kinda one-dimensional and the backstories don't really resonate with me. It does seem like there is room for improvement though, and I don't' actually dislike the anime so I'll probably stick around until the end unless it gets worse.
