Honestly, this show just got a lot more confusing. So many questions! Definitely nowhere near the same show as season 1 but still good and fun to watch.

Also, I don't think it is a coincidence that there is no hole in the wall and that there is this titan God walking around (Beast titan). My guess is what he ordered them to repair themselves so that he can climb into it and kill everybody trapped inside? Wait, if he wanted to kill people inside then why doesn't he order the titan inside the wall to move? Ahhh, so many questions.

Also, the order that Sasha delivered to the section commander near the end of this episode, did she get that order in episode 2 from someone? I don't think I remember seeing her getting any order.

Yeah, too many questions and only 12 episodes lol

I'm a bit disappointed at how they choice to reveal or approach some of the most important informations in the story, correct me if I'm wrong but the part where Armin casually reveals that titans can't move during the night was something they weren't sure of yet until a bit later in the story, but I guess Armin knows all and they expect the viewer to get it or accept it?....We first get hints of this information when its revealed that titans are in the wall and it needed to be protected from sunlight but it wasn't until later in story (still to come) when we find this out and actually
but I guess revealing it now is easier? It kinda comes out of nowhere especially since Armin shouldn't know this, he wasn't given a full report about the titans in the wall, all he knew was that there were titans in the wall and were somehow able to harden to protect them, he didn't know about the sunlight or titans not being able to move at night, if they knew of this information then why the man leading the search for the hole in the wall so afraid of seeing or getting attacked by a titan at night? I guess just like manga readers the anime writers are just too excited and can't help dropping spoilers

Also Eren's father never said all the answers to everything was in the basement he just told Eren to keep the key safe and there's a something in the basement he wanted to show bim, but for some reason in this episode Eren is now admitting/thinking the basement holds the answer to everything,
I believe the whole Titans don't move in night thing comes from mid-first season, when Hange experiments with the two captured Titans and then tells Eren about it. As for the basement, when Eren goes to tranform for the first time to protect Mikasa and Armin from the canon fire, he recalls his dad telling him that he'll understand everything once he reaches the basement.

Damn, the titan in the beginning saying Okaeri was just so sad. Is it possible the village was experimented on and they turned into titans or something?

I was looking forward to this season because this arc is my favourite, I dropped the manga a few months ago but I'm still going to watch this anime...

that being said, I was highly anticipating the events of this episode or next when I started it; SnK is definitely lacking on simple character interaction (imo staples of a good anime/manga) and this arc had some great dialogue between Connie, Reiner, Ymir and Christa (Bertholdt says like 3 words), but they cut it!

Honestly they have to flashback to the conversations they have there as its way too ambiguous as to why Reiner and Ymir are staring at each other like its the end of the world

I feel like they're moving too quickly, but thats mostly because they cut out those conversations, and included the "reveal" that Christa was important after building suspense. But then I thought about how much content they do need to get in and I guess its needed, I don't actually know how much they're going to be able to fit into 12 episodes?

I haven't read this part of the manga in a long time but I didn't remember Sasha being there and now I'm confused.

The preview for next episode is very interesting, seeing that flashback and how Reiner focused it is, oh boy I'm excited.

The episode definitely didn't live up to my hopes because they cut out the vital character interaction I loved, but if they go back and add it in as a flashback then I will accept it

Holy crap. This episode totally hyped me up. I read this part in the manga 4 years ago, but I only vaguely remember what happens. All I can say is, this episode was great. The reapparence of the beast titan really is nerve wrecking every time he comes. The suspense is also on point. This is exactly what I have been waiting four years for, and it's well worth it.

Well it's quite obvious now the wall was never breached and those Titans where the villagers transformed. The one in the house was his mother since she said "Welcome home"

The question is about the monkey titan. Where did he came from. Was he someone that infiltrated as a human and transform inside and made other Titans?
Also now it seems we get other Titans from the 104th unit. From the preview it seems that blond guy is a Titan and doesn't remember and he will remember? At least that is what i got.
That Ymir chick has been suspicious from the OVA's where her name was throw.
the blond girl am not exactly convinced she is herself a Titan but it seems her family or something is like a noble family for the Titans? maybe the Titans are commanded by certain human families or something?

Of course she could be a Titan also and not remember. Maybe she is the daughter of the giant Titan. In the end it seem everyone was human that took something that made them Titans. The successful ones because human Titans like Eren the failures became brainless Titans just thinking of eating that can't speak and the even bigger failures became like that one over the house that her limps didn't even grew so she can walk.

Anyway that is all the crazy theories i had for this time. It was quite the cliffhanger with the Haramber Titan climping the wall etc. Hard to wait for next episode like this.

Btw a shout out to seeing sexy Rico. i like that girl.

Hate how the studio is making mikasa so 2D tbh they already cut out any signs of character development from her in S1 and they're doing it again in S2
do explain. they haven't change anything with her this season so far.

they cut out the bit where levi tells her to not be reckless & make a mistake, like the one she made which resulted in levi getting injured. in s1 she didn't appear to show any remorse over that, and instead her obsession with eren keeps getting fuelled rather than her recognising its a Bad thing that can cause her to lose control and that particular scene was significant in this.

Its chill if she gets it in the other episodes but the pacing would be off and i was looking forward to levi and mikasa start off their teacher-mentor type relationship ya feel

What the hell is going on... that Titan greeted that boy!? There is no hole in the wall?? A virus? Is this evolution? An experiment(s)? Gods or Demons are involved in all of this? Why Braun reacted towards Ymir like that? Who is going to survive? What is Sasquatch true objective? What in the blue hell is going on!? So, many damn questions and so little episodes. Well, the organization "Wall Church" is behind everything. It remains unclear what exactly the "great will" is. Big enough for many people to commit suicide? Or have they included other people in the walls?

Ymir and the blonde girl seem to play an important role here (btw. Ymir reminds me strongly of Annie)
Finally, again much remains unclear. Sasha disturbed the conversation and Ymir herself seems to have told Rainer something important (which was cut).

So, Connis village is deserted? My guess: All are now titans and are controlled by the beast titan (remember, he could give them orders).

Hopefully we'll find out more next episode at utgard castle.

what? There is no hole in the wall?

Don't tell me they anyhow forced the people in the villages close to the wall to transform and used them to "attack" (which would also explain why Connie's village was destroyed without a single drop of blood). That would be really fucked up.

man that end... I mean I'm glad the action and despair finally starts but in that group are far too many of the remaining members of the "main crew". And they don't have the gear to fight... Considering all that the preview wasn't nice :( Hope Reiner survives. He was one of the few people who were able to use their brain in the first season. What was that scene before they noticed the titans though? What were they talking about oO

More titans talking it seems. Gorilla-kun the Titan returns once again, which is nice and horrible at the same time despite the fact that he didn't actually do anything. Aside from that, more questions about the titans surface, and to me, it's all pointing to the possibility of the titans being made in the castle walls through experiments but thats something I've been guessing at since... forever really. Next episode is gonna be one awesome fight in the night and I look forward to it. Also that outro god dang it. I keep listening to it and it only gets creepier every time.

To find a titan that has fallen on the remains of his house
Man i can't imagine how Connie would have felt then
For titans to attack a village and leave no bodies at all will be impossible
Yep and the titan talking with the voice of his mother is the greatest shock ever
If anything Reiner is dedicated to being a soldier
Ymir only joined the survey corps to protect Krista after all
She doesn't have the determination or courage that Krista has or her reasons for doing so. But Ymir however does have combat skills that exceed Krista's though.

Looks like the garrison forces finally had the time to deploy.
Nice to see that Rico is still alive though
Checking the hole from end to end on horseback must be hard though
Even more scary and unnerving at night as well lol
Where every sound can be a titan.
Guess the other party did not find the hole either
And we finally get to see the castle then eh
Meanwhile the bulk of the survey corps are on their way to reinforce Connie and the others. To think that inside the walls are titans that are holding it.
Given the hardness of titan skin as well as the given facts using that to seal the breach certainly is a possible solution.
Armin's tactics as ever are keen and his plan actually does sound like it might work.
If anything Eren's determination to stop the titans will ensure that he will always agree to such plans.
The scale of the evacuation's that take place when walls fall always surprises me. They must have billions that live within each of the walls. To think that the church actually wants the titans to breach the walls though. What are those guys thinking. Meanwhile back at the castle they find themselves surrounded. As like before the beast titan is changing the titans to use them more effectively. Guess the titans know where you guys are then eh. But its time to show them what the veterans of the survey corps can do. Levi's advice for Eren and his team though were good. The last scene with the survey corps rushing towards the tower was a great scene though to end with.

When you only have 12 episodes there are bound to be scenes cut.

But an EXTREMELY important scene was cut out of this episode that was vital to the story but on the other hand it could have gave too much of a hint about what was really going on in their heads

As a manga reader I'm really uptight about these things, and not that I want the anime to be EXACTLY the same, I just feel the producers had a really tough time deciding whether or not to put the scene I'm talking about in the episode or not. (Manga readers will get this)

How am I spoiling anything? What I said was vague.

And your example is not good. At this point in time he cannot harden his skin, yet they showed a picture of him doing it and he agreed to it as if he he could do it. Pressure has nothing to do with it. That's like saying some random soldier agreed to change into a titan just because they were pressured to. They know they can't do it, and even if they could, they would have no idea on how to do it.

I like how former minor characters get more screentime so far, but over all this was just a build-up episode and nothing else.

I wonder what Reiner and Ymir talked about?
Why is Christa so important? Is she a titan too maybe?

I bet the battle in episode 4 will be spectacular though.
