| Don't like where this is going. Mumei believing ANYTHING Biba says after caused a mass genocide is beyond stupid. He's proven himself to be a pathological liar to further his own agenda. The mass genocide is kind of where you draw the line... Also the one episode we got of actually getting to know the characters isn't really enough to make me care about any of them too much. And Mumei went from a decently likeable badass heroine to a boring puppet during this arc, and you never really even know why because one scene of her and Biba when she was younger isn't enough to justify staying with him after... well, you know. I'll definitely finish it but I don't think this is salvageable anymore. As always though, I hope I am wrong. |

| I think a villain like Biba is necessary for a show like this...when humans are no longer at the top of the food chain I mean. It's interesting to see how humans as a species slowly start to show their innate primeval instincts and makes the audience question what the real definition of evil is. Also, I'm thinking even if Takumi didn't jump in front of Ikoma, he would have probably been killed anyways. Doubt they would have kept him as a blood bag. At least this way, his death was somewhat meaningful and he obtained some dignity and peace of mind. |

| The problem isn't the presence of a human villain. The problem is that Biba is a horrible villain. There was basically no proper build-up. It was more like "Here's a new character and just so you know he's evil". Okay, blonde guy is strong and has years of combat experience. But, that someone as tough and resilient as Ikoma, who was also shown as a capable fighter, gets trashed without the slightest bit of resistance is just bad. Ikoma is still alive, that's for sure. But he lost an arm, was stabbed and fell into a river. It's not surprising that some wonder, how he will get out of that. Regenerative abilities will not help much, if he's drowning. |

Was it the first episode where he is surrounded by ordinary people who don't know how to fight kabane? Compare him to Biba's men who for 10 years been killing Kabane (without using special powers by the way), you will then notice it's actually logical I mean his only weapon is a gun with an effective range of like 1 meter, hard to reload and can only kill 1 kabane at a time per shot. (The guy with the new sword is better at killing kabane but it's not obviously shown being just a side character) |

| Unfortunately saw Takumi's death coming. I think this was the first time Ikoma smiled the entire damn show, or at least one of the few times. His happy bonding with Takumi to add more depth to their relationship seemed a little out of nowhere to me so I figured they were setting up for a heartbreaking moment later. Really if Ikoma wasn't so one dimensional this whole time and talked to people normally this episode would've had a lot more impact for me. Still, felt really bad for Takumi. :/ This entire show is really feeling like wasted potential for me. But I'm still gonna keep going since there's only 2 episodes left and I'm actually still invested in what happens to Ayame, Kurusu, and (mildly) Mumei. |

The build up came from the tidbits that Mumei kept saying about her brother until his introductions. The suspicious signs were everywhere. Why would a brother give her a name? That is the role of parents. They had to be around at her birth after all. Then the mentality that only strong are worthy of surviving and the weak should die. Again suspicious. Then you have Enoku's confrontation with Mumei in episode 5 where we see how Biba casts away those he no longer considers worthy. THe signs were there. |
| I don't mind if Ikoma really got killed off early because it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the series. The show started well but was set up for failure, the finale will be terrible. |

| I had this show pitched to me as like SNK, but anyone can actually die. I kind of think that was a premature pitch as thus far Kabaneri has definitely had its untouchables in the cast. But damn Takumi biting it was totally a surprise. I liked how they did it though. I'm not emotionally invested enough in this show for it to give me feels but it was well done. I liked his and Ikoma's scene right before the rebellion went down, it really added to that dramatic climax. And his final words to Ikoma were definitely heart string tug worthy. It'd be interesting if Ikoma was actually dead, but I don't think this show has the balls to do that. The first half of this episode was I think some of the best stuff we've seen from this show. I liked traitor dude and the revelation he was not actually a traitor it was a good little character moment for a pretty side character until now. And disgusted Yukina further cements herself as best girl. The second half when the uprising actually happened worked a little less for me though. Bubei is to me an increasingly uninspired villain. And more than creating serious tension, it just felt like an exercise in stacking impossible odds and twists against our heroes until we just have to shrug and say "how are they going to get out of this one?" Not terrible but frustrating to watch. Still I'm excited to see the ending and unless it's really satisfying I would totally watch another cour of this. I hope Mumei's ok, she's really dumb and always messing things up but she's also a well meaning kid and I don't wish ill on her. |

Ikoma was stabbed by No-name (mumei) [LOLZ DDY] and fell to the river...what's next, Ikoma will retaliate with his own Kabaneri army? that would take time...looks like Kongougaku will also fall this time... 5/5. |
