The old Iran or Persia produced the best poets in the history of mankind. And then comes Saudi Arabia; during Islamic Golden Age.

Farid ud din Attar
Jalal ud din Rumi
Shams Tabrizi
Omar Khayyam
Nur Jahan

On top of my head.

As for Arabians, Arabic language itself is so poetic that poetry was just an everyday thing back in THE DAYS.

Depends on what constitutes as a poetic country.

I mean, Norway has a ton of world renowned poets, but I wouldn't classify this as a very poetic country.

What constitutes as a poetic country?

thats good but the country i know of still has poetry as a daily thing simply because its language is not debased like the many others

in fact i could choose someone mid-tier from the music industry of this country and their lyrics'd probably surpass your countrys best "poets"

I wouldn't say it had been ever the highest, but when Germany was (and maybe still is) considered to be the "Country of Poets and Thinkers", there has to be or had to be something behind that Reputation.

A partially free Word Order that allows for a Bit of Scrambling made and make Poems comparably easier to write in German than in English or French.
The fact that there are also Variations between Verb 2nd Position in Main Clauses, as well as the general Structure for the whole Sentence and Verb Final in subordinated Clauses, which makes every Sentence that begins with a Subclause pretty much melodic.
"If I had a helicopter, I would have a helicopter. If!" sounds and looks pretty boring.
But "Wenn ich einen Heli(kopter) hätte, hätte einen Heli(kopter) ich. Wenn!" makes for a well-mirrored Sentences, which in Turn makes Loops possible. Also, Variation by Scrambling and using the V2/VF Structure makes it easily possible to form a small Poem by yourself:

There has been a lot of linguistic Research done by Germans and Literature in General still has a high Standing in Germany.

Also, even with broken German, it sounds melodic and poetic:

One of the best known German Poems form the Lyrics of the Anthem of the EU, which probably everyone here has already heard at least once in their Life:

I love Christine

"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness." - Henry David Thoreau

That awkward Moment when you notice that there are are 3 Keywords in the URL but only 2 of them are actually performed.

But it would be nice to have genuine Appreciation for the German Culture and/or Language without eventually ending up with proving Godwin's Law as a Result of the decades-long Germanophobia.

(I've added a few Things in my Posting above btw.)

I would say the UK has the best poets. I'm obviously biased, but I think our reputation for literature is pretty solid. However, Scud may be right about Japan being the most poetic- I've heard it was once a rule that anyone who spoke in the Japanese Royal court was only permitted to express themselves using poetry.
