Okay first thing I noticed is the change in OP video. Including the change from morning to around evening and there are more zombies. Then Megu-nee's almost wiped out face from the white board. Then Megu-nee's scene was changed with the graveyard. Then the diary pictures changed to be more depressing shots. Then the scene where Yuki is running, the scene got more purple than usual and when she stepped at the water, it turned even redder than usual.

Also... that was very sad. I know Megu-nee is hinted to be not real since episode 2 or 3 (heck, even episode 1 with the ribbon on graveyard), but this is just sad.

Another happy yet depressing episode. It seems we're back to the present where Taromaru is on leash.

So did Yuki let Megu-nee go? She let her Megu-nee illusion to "leave" her. And I think Yuki did not mention about Megu-nee again after that "letting go".

At least for me it was the last episode when she was talking to Miki and in two different cases she got that "I am about to bash your head in" in look on her face(first time on the rooftop with Kurumi interfering and second time in the showers just before Miki asked to join the club)

There also been those looks she gives to herselfwhen she is alone(like in the first episode when making food at the start) and that out of all girls she seems to take the situation way too well.

I should also mention that there's a sidebar on the official website with each option (Characters, Story, etc.) labelled with a floor number. There are some repeats, but the last option is labelled "B1 - ???". And guess which room's in the school's basement?

So yeah, I don't think they'll skip that arc.

Can anyone shed me some light for the anime's timeline? This episode occurred after episodes 1 and 2 because they already finished the Test of Courage that was mentioned here where Yuki got the balloons. But during the last few episodes, we had flashback story from when they met Miki and continued from there. Now I'm confused about the timeline of the episodes. ?_?

So can someone answer this for me: Has Yuki finally snapped out of her delusion that Megumi is still alive? That's the vibe that I got from her when she was talking to "her", as well as the motion that she made just before rejoining the rest of the girls in the club room.

The club activity this week was pretty fun. And despite it all, the ending of the episode with the balloons and pigeon flight felt like an indication that all hope was not lost in such a situation.

Looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

Why would they adapt it? They already changed the adaptation so that Taroumaru was a main character instead of a minor one that only appeared for that chapter where that was the plot point. God knows they're gonna keep the damn thing alive for the rest of the anime.

This is such a bad adaptation honestly.

More importantly where is this scene

Hm, I think they may have used the music room scene as the 'wake up for reality' in that one's place to fit the way Miki is in the anime... I would prefer the manga version much more but it doesn't seem probable that they would go there again....

fatalystic said:
It doesn't fit with Miki's characterisation in the anime. She was kind of a jerk in the manga, so it made sense for her to be confrontational, but since her personality's been changed in the anime it'd clash.

I wouldn't consider her a jerk, she's the realist type, so in this case, naturally more harsh. She reacted the way she did because of her personality being like that and honestly, in her situation I would probably react the same way along the lines as she did. Yuki's delusions are not exactly stuff a person's used to react to.

James_Rye said:
They aren't skipping things, they are REARRANGING IT!

Yes, I get where you're coming from but you can't deny, for example, the fact that they had Miki at the beginning didn't make you as thrilled or expectant as to what was going to happen in the mall arc because we already knew she was fine nad in the meantime, while we got these flashbacks, the plot itself didn't move anywhere, in the present time I mean.

mrkm said:

Not necessarily bad but there are some things that didn't need to be changed or cut... either way, they are keeping the thing going just fine, although sometimes confusing because damn flashbacks xD
I'm trying not to be too harsh on the adaptation, there's no need to, and I'm quite biased while watching as it's one of my favourite manga so I'll naturally notice the changes and like it or not, what's done it's done...

Moving on, the episode was good and solid. It felt like they reached the perfect balance between the slice-of-life and the 'darker' matters of their reality.
The moments with Yuki 'breaking' always amaze me, they look so damn good and creepy(?) maybe that's not the right word.
And I'm so glad they kept the part with Arnault, I laughed so much at that in the manga xD Only Kurumi will think of something like that haha
That ending though, I liked the 1st one but this one is so good *o* and all that foreshadowing if you want to call it that
Good changes to the OP as well, I like how it is getting darker and darker :3

...Scuba club?

Anyways, it's still bugging me the weird shadows of the girls. Some scenes have them, while others are just plain unexistant.

Also, the yellow flowers. I still can't tell what kind of flowers they are. They are visible at day next to the club's window, but at night they are nowhere to be seen. I know some tend to move plants at night, but they usually take them outside, since they produce CO2. Is there another reason to move them away at night?

"The dew may fall and the flower reamin, or the flower may wither before the dew is gone."

Rii san and THAT expression when it comes to Yuki and her mental health. Megu nee and her came up with the idea of the club. Guess she is struggling with the idea of Yuki snapping out of her dream, but so far we haven't been shown her inner thoughts or any kind of backstory 'til now.

And then it comes the dream factor that has been adressed since episode 1. And they changed the ending, but kept the part where they walk by Megu nee's crushed car for some reason.

Ah. Forgot the most important part. The letter releasing scene? I totally thought for a moment that the pigeon was gonna get entangled with the balloons strings.

Depends on your expectation honestly. I am generally really harsh with adaptation. In this case my expectations are: Do not skip the important part, try to get the same feeling as the manga.
For now the only bad thing is the feeling the SOL gives me, so it really is a personaly opinion. Maybe you wanted it to be more dark or something but from other people's perspective this might be good.

I'm starting to notice QUALITY issues and it's bothering me. I'm not someone that picks up on that sort of stuff. I usually just try to ignore anything like that and enjoy the show, but even I'm noticing moments where the characters are drawn in bizarre and distracting proportions.

So now they've released some letters; I guess that could be tied to some sort of resolution for the show? Or are they just going to leave it inconclusive and wait it out and make another season now that it's popular?
Now you're wondering if there's white text in any of my other posts.

Not really, no. they are complaining about the existence of spoilers in the first place - spoiler tag or not.
And frankly, there has been barely anything posted that is a spoiler and DOESN'T have the tag. Most of these were fixed by the users when pointed out, others remained unspoilered, because it was speculations by anime-only watchers. Sooooo....no :D You're still being a hypocrite with that spoiler.

glad it's not just me. what bothers me most is the fact that in a lot of places where there are any problems are when there is barely any movement or the characters are completely static, so it makes little sense to me to have this... There was a frame in the previous episode, where they were talking around the table and Rii was holding Taroumaru for about 30 seconds or so of zero movement, yet the dog looked like he was shot in the face DDDDDD:

First it's understandable since (AFAIK) this is the 1st time Lerche has produced 3 animes in 1 season. 2nd it isn't even noticeable to the point that almost everyone is complaining about it, I didn't even noticed the quality drop until someone point it out.

Apparently some people can't read.

Honestly, go make a "MANGA - ANIME COMPARISON THREAD" and discuss every things you nitpick there to your fullest. No, putting things in spoiler tag didn't help much since that way you have a thread full of spoiler tags, just like in page 1.

Not only discussing things they skipped, you even discussed things THEY HAVE NOT EVEN SKIPPED. Go make room for anime only and heck, this is anime and manga is manga, you should have expect things to differ since every adaptation is made to comply the medium. Not everything in motion could contain things which are good in the paper, and vice versa.

That was an alright episode.

So with this week, we get to discover more about Yuki's delusion. Some of the directions are pretty good as always, though the pacing is a bit slow even by the series's standards. The part where they release the balloon is pretty nice. That is the first time the Slice of Life aspect makes sense in a zombie apocalypse. They are sending out for help.

Animation quality takes quite a beating with this episode. There are moments where the characters look quite awkward. I am not sure if the change in visuals of the opening and ending exhausts the budget for this one episode. Hope the quality will get back to usual in the next.

Overall verdict is 3.5 out of 5. This episode is the calm before the storm. Really really look forward to the next. I just hope to see the shit come down.
