Nodame Cantabile because I can relate to the characters in both their feelings and what they love to do - music. The series gives me a bright smile on my face and provides me with tons of good music that never fails to cheer me up and excite me. I also adore the comedy and pacing. It also feels like going to a new world when the characters travel to a different country for studying.

It's one of my favourites, too, though I'd say it's far from stupid :P

My favourite is Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom.

When it comes to fiction, the characters and their relationships are always the most important aspects for me. It's why I love The X-Files so much. In Phantom, we have a central relationship that is overwhelming in its depth. The connection between the characters is extraordinary, and this makes their plight compelling and heart-breaking. Furthermore, I appreciated how it didn't push for a happy ending; it ended exactly how it would have if these characters had truly existed.

Has literally everything I enjoy most out of anime. It's certainly not the best anime in the world but It's easily my favorite by far.

I take it with it's flaws, They mean less than nothing to me.

The Tatami Galaxy is my favorite series because it manages to be wacky and over the top fun while still being very poignant and relatable. Its a story about life but its told in a very unique and imaginative way with a great cast of characters who are all extremely memorable. Not to mention I found the main character to be the most relatable character I've ever encountered in fiction, part of what makes the series such a powerful experience to me is that I've been in Watashi's shoes before and had the exact same doubts about my life.

My favorite animu are Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi
why?
Bcoz the storytelling is off the charts
Mature topics are discussed
The emotions are real and human
Their atmospheres are too calming
The art is good
And the soundtrack is masterpiece
Twitter and it's consequences had been a disaster for the human race

I already mentioned in my post that I found the protagonist, Watashi, to be the most relatable character I've run into in fiction. I was in the exact same place when I was his age and in college, hoping for some ideal college life and struggling to figure out what I actually wanted to do with my life. Granted I didn't have the whole groundhog's day thing to deal with but I feel that I had very similar doubts and hopes and in the end I managed to figured out the right path.

My favourite anime at the moment is Welcome to the NHK!

[*]Satou has an embodiment of traits shared by most real-life recluses.
[*]The cast of characters each has a story to tell, all mirroring actual issues in Japanese society.
[*]The narrative is absorbing; social commentary ranges from light-hearted to provocative.

Words taken out of my mouth from The Nihon Review.

Greatest "serjes" not greatest "series". A serjes is a series that's the best with no logical reasoning. That's objective. Serjes can only be applied to one thing in every universe/dimension/plain combined.

Looks like you are looking for reasons.

One Piece, FMA and Rurouni Kenshin are among my favourites because they provide a huge combo of genres and incite the widest variety of emotions for me. They made me laugh, feel emotional, get excited, and had heartwarming then cool moments which few other anime can compare to.
One Piece and FMA have the most intricate plots in anime I've seen, and I love the wide variety of characters which is also significant in comparison to other series.
Code Geass and Steins;Gate are my favourites because they have my favourite protagonists in all of anime, and in terms of Steins;Gate, a personality I can relate to. They also provide a pretty wide combo of genres, not as much as the other three, but still significant.

Clannad Afterstory because it shows a subtle yet intricate relationship advance beyond the highschool setting; something seldom seen in anime. The characters are very likeable and well written. The OST is among my favourites. The series combines gritty realism with a touch of supernatural which I think was handled very well.

of course it affected me. it made me realize that acceptance is the key to a better society but acceptance should be also limited coz everything too much can kill you. i can relate with Natsume Takashi (Lead from Natsume Yuujinchou) sometimes. We also experienced being Natsume, alone and lonely

Haha not at all, personally relatability plays a very small part in enjoyment for me. However something I love is villains you can sympathize with, which along with memetic badassary is also what drew me to the fate series.

Dont expect much from it. That's what makes it great. You're just a spectator observing a group of bums trying to live a life. If you're expecting some kind of hidden meaning, message, or overall plot, then you won't have a fun experience

Ahahaha, I don't care if there's longer series, this is hilarious! I already lost count on how much time I spent watching One Piece

My favorite anime so far would probably be Shinsekai Yori because it showed a world that's different from ours in such a magnitude and completion; it also has amazing character developments with well utilized time skips since each one of them covers a huge issue that everyone can relate to!

Cardcaptor Sakura - consistently awesome for 70 episodes and two movies. Twice as long and almost as good as any of the best.

Same reason Count of Monte Cristo is by favorite book while Gulliver's Travels comes second. 1200 pages of brilliant dialogue beats 200 pages of life changing and insightful any day of the week
