I too would like some "non romantic relationships stories" recommendation . It's something I was always kind of looking for : I would be very interested if it could be a story about a group of people , not "blood related", becoming a familly . I find those stories to be very touching and heartwarming . I can't really find good exemple of what I mean by that in manga...but for anime , think about this feel looking at the characters of "Cowboy bebop" or "Samurai Champloo" as the story progress : it's not a "strong friendship" that you can feel in their interaction , but truly a "family bond" one (If you have watched those anime , you'll understand what I mean) . Now if this could be the focus of said manga (in the slice of life department I guess then) , That would make it . |

If no then yes I should consider reading it . not that much at all. it's about pursuing your dreams with some romance subplots |

THE END I got interested in it when it as mentioned in Bakuman, so I'll definitely read it some day, but I also got spoiled because of a reference in a video game so I'm in no rush now. @5000man I'm glad you enjoyed it! Did you ever see the movie? I didn't and I probably won't but I asked because many people criticized how the romantic sub-plot was dealt with in the manga in opposition with the movie. A posted in another forum said that he couldn't justify Keiji's feelings for Petra since they didn't know each other enough for romantic feelings to exist. Do you have an opinion on this? Since I didn't see the movie, I can't compare, but I think that these feelings are possible even in such short development. Also what do you think it's the center theme in the story? |

@FlameWingman21 I'll be a fangirl and admit that I only cared about Dragon Ball and Ashita no Joe after I read Bakuman! I can definitely see the appeal of masculine manga now. Otoko no Roman can be very touching. High five, fellow One Piece & Bakuman fan :D |

Ana- : consider the following : the author of Ashita no Joe himself didn't gave a clear answer about the ending , which is done in a way that it is a ambiguous one , left to interpretation (it was changed a lot of time before becoming this one also , so I heard) . Beside , what matter a lot more is the travel to that point , and if you haven't been spoiled about some of the major even that come around the middle of the manga , you really should think about reading it . I'm about to finish "Angel Densetsu" (I took it for "comedy manga") , and to that point I liked it more than Claymore (not the same genre I know , but still same author) . It is the first work of the author and you can feel it (very interesting to see how his style progressed through the volumes also) , it have some flaws for sure , but the funny situations and characters make up for it . I would recommend it for a "shonen type" comedy manga . |

I can think of Barajou no Kiss and Ouran High School Host Club but I haven't read either one so I wouldn't be able to say how good they are. Also the challenge isn't really only for people who are starting out, it's pretty much for anyone who would like to participate and complete it. |

Well I'm not sure about completed ones, but Akatsuki no Yona and Oresama Teacher are pretty good. They're still ongoing. I guess Beauty Pop could count as a reverse harem. Maybe. |

So question, I've read almost everything from my favorite author and all that remains are one shots/doujinshi. Can those count for "➤Read a manga by your favorite author/artist"? Or is it supposed to be a multi-chapter thing? If the latter is the case, can I change that challenge with something else? |

Yeah, any work by that author (as long as it's a manga and not illustrations for something) can count, though I'd prefer if you didn't use doujinshi unless they're 'officially' associated with a series, so they should have a MAL entry, for example. Multi-chaptered manga is not a requirement for any item. |

You should just replace one of your item with "Read a manga with children in it" , I don't see the problem with that as long as you'll have 25 item for your list , president tsuyokunaru ^^ .
