Another Night Raid member bites the dust. At least Lubbock took Shura with him to the grave. Lubbock had honor in dying for the sake of Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army. Public Execution for Tatsumi. It seems that Esdeath wants the chance to see him. This might turn out okay.

Dunno, I'm liking the fact that it's original material. For me, cuz I read the manga anyway, it seems more fresher.

As for the quality of the actual new material, that's something else altogether. The quality of the plot, as far as the new material goes anyway, feels rushed and undeveloped.
That being the case, the two things I'm liking so far: The mom and daughter were spared, and Shura got ass-raped here.
Also, in the manga he wasn't that much stronger than portrayed here, but he wasn't a push over either.

So it went anime original and skipped some stuff? Eh, that just gives me more incentive to check out the manga. This has felt rushed for a while anyway.

Why are people so surprised that they had to skip an arc that adds a number of new characters they don't have the time for so that a) they actually have an ending to a story with a vastly uncompleted manga that they'd have to wait years to continue an anime for (I mean, unless you really wanted to wait like 5 years+ for the adaptation to continue) and b) was full of gang rape, paedophilia and torture? I dunno how any of you actually expected them to get away with showing Wild Hunt properly in a 24 episode TV anime, especially when so many lately have shown that Japanese TV is often reluctant to even show blood. At best they'd have to have left at an awkward cut off and made a sequel movie, which I'm sure plenty of people would have then complained about and said was a ploy to make more money or some shit. It'd suck for anyone that was anime-only too since, this might surprise you, but animes are meant to be stand alone adaptations everyone can enjoy like any other TV show, not just wankfests for manga readers.

The story became a mess, full of plot holes thanks to the anime going original.

I don't mind it being original as I'm not into manga, really.
I liked this episode, and liked the previous episode.
It just bothers me there was a fight that randomly went unresolved.
Would have been nice to see Wave actually fight instead of him being a punchline.
The one serious fight they have him in and they skip it.

Bullcrap, sasuga White Fox. I can't believe this.

Well, at least Lubbock was SO badass up until the end. They changed the manga's storyline for the sake of catching up the latest chapter? They changed the ones that will die first before Lubbock and Syura for the sake of this?! (Yeah yeah, I'm glad that one NR member doesn't bye yet but still...)

Man, what a trainwreck.
The world shall know the truth soon.

ITT: butthurt manga fans bitching about anime changes

I sympathize with you, but I'd much rather have changes than a bunch of rushed bullshit where it skips half the series like so many other adaptions. I'd also prefer it to a thorough adaption with a cliffhanger ending when its obvious AGK wouldn't get a sequel for a LONG time, if it ever would. Cliffhangers endings only work if a sequel is guaranteed within the next year.

From the neutral perspective of someone who isn't reading the manga, this episode was fucking incredible. The action was good, it made me hyped af, and I was positively FURIOUS when that woman stabbed Lubbock. If an anime conjures extreme anger and hatred towards a particular character or event, that's a sign of success.

RIP Lubbock. After this episode, you'll go down as one of my favorite characters of the series for sure.

I can't be the only pissed that all the good characters are dying while fucking Mine is still alive with no signs of death coming anytime soon. ffs

I will kiss ass this post so i wont waste my time saying the same shit xD.

Heh, I was wondering how they'd do the Syura arc, turns out they didn't. They really shouldn't have tried to add any original material, and they really shouldn't have cut out that arc. Also, I think they're basically at the same point as the manga now, with Lubbok dead and Tatsumi captured, next episode should be a talk with Esdeath and Tatsmi, and the one after that should be the manga's latest chapter. That is, if they don't decide to take any more "drastic" decisions...

Well now, this show should be plummeting any second now, just curious to see how badly it does fall.

Epiosde 19 had a fight between Su/Leone vs. Wave/Kurome.

They showed Wave charging at Su, but then cut to Najenda talking to Esdeath.

The episode ended without ever getting back to the Wave vs. Su fight.

Episode 20 begins, and you see Wave and Kurome eating dinner with the guy with the feather in his hair. His name escapes me.

Did they just skip that fight?

We see all 4 characters in that fight in episode 20, so they all survived clearly.
Did Wave see the scene change and just say, "Alright guys, scene over, same time next week?"

Yeah, I was expecting them to stick by the "If Teigu users fight, at least one of them will die rule" :|
Was totally not expecting Lubbock to die in this episode....

Lol, i was surprised when i watched this episode like, "whoa am i missing this arc in the manga," but hell no. Well it's really unexpected that it would turned out to be original anime ending, some feels from the manga might be gone tho, like:
When susano'o died. Whoa, i really got all hyped to see the battle to assasinate borrick, that battle is really exciting! But it got skipped just like that? Well it is dissapointing.

I don't really care 'bout the wild hunt arc tho, i don't really like it anyway. But why did they skip the lubbock's ball crushing scene!! lol. Don't get me wrong, IMO the way he killed Shura was better in manga, and that's also applied in Lubbock's dead.

But even if Susanoo doesn't died yet, i think he will died in the battle to save tatsumi, which might only decrease mine's badass a little. But i'm still hyped to see how it ended like, will it have different ending with the manga or will it give spoiler to the manga ending?

*They don't animate when leone tortured tho, lol she got her boob slashed
Sorry For my Bad English lol

Can I ask why people are getting so up in arms about this anime not following the Manga and going for an original ending? You read the Manga, right? So you already know that story. Why do you want the same exact thing again? I just look at it as a multiple ending path kind of thing like they have in video games. Why so many people here are acting like entitled crybabies I simply don't understand.

Because for a manga reader an adaptation is the chance to see their favorite scenes in more details with voice acting and epic music to boot. This abortion of a development is the very antithesis of an adaptation. Manga Readers come for the manga being adapted not some director's version of a shitty fanfic

What's going to happen is that the church fight between Esdese and Night Raid is moved to the execution instead, making it a final fight between Night Raid and the Jeagers/Empire. It's simple as that really.

I honestly cannot believe how much they've screwed up this episode. The manga is suspenseful and I was really waiting for the anime to catch up and show what happened to Lubbock and Tatsumi, but the fact that they've deviated this much from the written source really makes me sick. They took a huge shortcut in the plot and in such a bad way that I'm doubting whether I'll continue watching the anime.

Lubbock was so cool.
I feel pain. Hurts more then bulat's death.
WHY KILLING HIM? OMG WHY?
His death in the manga is even worse (as the readers told me). The author kinda like to kill good characters as the boring Tatsumi is still there. UH. (personal opinion, I don't like Tatsumi).
The only reason I'm not gonna drop it it's because I've gone too far for this shit. 20 episodes.

That's not the thing here , at least for us (manga readers) the thing is that they skipped 10 chapters of manga giving lubbock a different death.. They skipped a lot of it and ,in my opinion, it was a good part of the manga.

If you like the manga, then just read it.

Changes are always bound to happen, don't you guys already know that?
Sure, you also like watching your favorite manga's adaptation, but you already know the studio will change one or two things... It's always bound to happen that, hence why it's dumb to bitch about this.

I just wanna know something. Ive heard a few times that the anime having an original ending is confirmed, but, is it officially confirmed? Because I havent seen any post/tweet/interview/etc. about it. Imo they could have just skipped the Wild Hunts part because of not having enough time or just because its too violent and just try to justificate it with the strange things that are happening now. I mean the story its not too different from the manga I dont really see it going to a completely different way. Obv everything changes if the original ending is confirmed somehow but as I said before I havent seen nothing that confirms it other than manga fans complaining and assumming its true

Yes it's just like you said. I was watching the anime and I realised that they're were following the manga , following the manga until the 19 ep why would they change it all of the sudden ? if you notice , ep 19 to 20 it's a huge impact in the story line aswell in the characters . it's just my opinion tho

Have you attended school? What does adaptation mean? It has to be the same to be a good adaptation, only slight changes can occur, changing the main story is not adapting, it's despicable for us(anime and manga fans) and for the author. You have some nice attitude, you probably haven't read much manga so you should be impartial and pay attention to what "RodaPT" said, because the anime fans like you suffer the most since they are in ignorance of what happened. You have just been pissed in the face and gang raped without knowing it. A good analogy is, "to us manga readers we were given an iPhone 6 plus to anime fans it was given an Samsung S1 but anime fans still think the two are the same".

Dude it's simple, they skipped more or less 10 chapters from episode 19 to 20, characters important to the story died there, others died in a different way, it impacts the future greatly. The anime ends in only 4 eps a manga chapter of this is only released monthly.
