After reading through some of the comments I've learned that this will have an original anime ending which disappoints me.

I was really hoping it will follow the manga (which I have not read, but I will sooner rather later) and get a 2nd season (although it's not like the chances are that it couldn't get an original anime 2nd season or something along the lines).

Coming back to the episode... RIP Lubba T.T

Well, after ep.19 i got really freaking confused and decided to read all the chapters thus far.

Lubbock's death is undoubtedly better in the anime. The one in the manga was so weird...

Still, no torture scene, and Lubbock killing Shura in the manga was wittier.

And then come the many, many things left out.

Now that that's written, the episode really wasn't bad from an anime-only perspective. Lubbock proving once again how strong and clever he is, i'm glad that bastard Shura died. Another member of NR is down, it isn't looking good for Tatsumi either. Since it's going to be an anime-original ending, i can't wait to see what happens.

4/5. Question for any anime/manga fan: do you think Budo will ever stop being such a tool?

Personally i think Budo will once the war is over. And funnily enough i prefer lubbock death in the manga i heard how he died from my friend i stooped watching since they aren't following the manga (yes i wanted to see all that wave, kurome development and esdeath fighting night raid) for me they skipping to much scenes and character development i wanted to see (ima youtube to see unlimited ice works tho)

Okay I really need to get this out because this is just too ridiculous

[spoiler] OH MY GOD, I CAN'T BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE CRYING OVER THIS EPISODE. Are you being serious? You wanted to see Wild Hunt animated when there was ONLY 4 EPISODES LEFT!!!??? That shit was BORING AS HELL to read even for the small good moments like Wave beating Shura up and so on. White Fox has set their PRIORITIES straight here and you'll see that soon enough.

And the guys crying about Susanoo's fight? Did you even read the TITLE for the next episode? It's friggin obvious that Night Raid is coming to rescue Tatsumi and that we'll see Susanoo fight Esdeath and what not. Sure it won't be the same, but oh my god, how can you expect the anime to end if they hadn't gone for an original ending since the last episode? If they ended the anime doing that stupid Wild Hunt then I'd jump off a bridge or something. Thank god White Fox will actually give us "less whiny" manga readers something to look forward to in terms of original content and action. I at least am looking forward to the final fight between Night Raid and the Jeagers, seeing as there probably won't be a second season around.

Lubbock's death in the manga was much more gruesome due to the events of his torture scene which wasn't animated. Although Syura was still taken down afterwards I still think it was very unnecessary to cut that scene out and replace it with a typical stab in the back. The build up from the torture scene and the dialogue during it would have the audience take it much more seriously. Lubbock was chained up and tortured, he thought about Najenda and his resolve to not betray his comrades which led up to one of his balls getting crushed; you can't just remove a scene with so much last moments context and expect the same amount of feels. I am disappointed white fox, if it's going to turn into an "anime original" at least do it right.

I honestly don't see why so many of my fellow manga readers are so butthurt....Some of you are acting like we ddn't already know from last week that they were skipping 10+ chapters

Yes, some Wave, Ran, Kurome, Mein, Tatsumi development and our big fight got axed (Possibly), but we don't know for a fact that we're not going to get a good replacement

Regardless, this wasn't a bad episode at all

1. You anime only's are VERY LUCKY that you guys don't have to go through Shura and Wild Hunt's antics....I'm sure that if you ask any manga readers when they felt that the manga truly turned into shit, I guarentee that most people would say when they were introduced

2. Shura was the BIGGEST cunt in this entire series and somehow, White Fox and Takahiro managed to make him somewhat likeable in this....The fact that all of his antics were axed helped with this as well....Yeah he barely got any development in the anime, but I'd rather this than the bullshit he did in the manga

3. Lubbock got justice because they still managed to have him go out like a badass and subesequently killing Shura....Plus he didn't deserve what he got in the manga and all of that torture (Ball crushing etc) was just uncalled for and unnecessary (Wild Hunt in a nutshell) and the fact that he didn't have to go through that made me very happy

My only nitpick is that Budou isn't as menacing as he was in the manga because

Yay a sensible response

1. I actually had a small (small? HAH!) rant on that in the 'What the hell Happened' Forum

2. Yeah, anime Syura is preferrable. A lot more stupid, but I'm glad for that.

3. I really wonder how you stay so composed. GJ for that

Lol no way. Budou growing a brain would be like Esdese gaining a breath of sanity. Other than that, yeah I'm gonna sorely miss the few good moments of the skipped chapters. Think I'll go re-read it sometime. It would probably help some Anime-only watchers if they did too. It would explain quite a few things.

It's just one death. At least he was cool at the end. Let's not judge everything based on one episode now. I think the next episodes will more than make up for it.

And while it seems like everyone is claiming that the manga is better, it just seems to me that AgK has nothing more than a lot of pointlessly gruesome deaths.

I don't get why people are bitchin' so much. The sales are too low for it to get a second season and they have to close the story in some way or another and had to skip some content. And anime in general are rarely as good as the manga they are adapted from anyway.Let's just hope they manage to do it in an entertaining fashion that sticks to the spirit of the story. And I say this as someone who has been reading the AkG manga for years.

Anyway, I look forward to the next episode and a certain conversation that will hopefully take place.

A lot of manga readers are just butthurt because some things they wanted to see got axed...Someone recently made a post about those chapters in a nutshell and all I could was clap

And I already accepted that this was going to happen a few days ago, and a friend made me realize that them skipping WIld Hunt, Shura's BS and how Lubbock died in the manga is a good thing and I said last week that maybe they will do things better and they DID

Also, going by the title for the next episode, our big fight might just happen too so I'm actually pretty happy.....WF and Takahiro knew that most of that shit he wrote was just awful and I commend them for changing things

Haha so it turned out to be anime original stuff? Good, because God that was awful. Well, at least now I know what to expect, since they will be trying to wrap everything up in the next couple of episodes or something.

1/5
What happened in the manga at this point was a million times more worse
Eh.. It would at least be more coherent and the transition would feel more natural. Having a tiny bit of build up would help; this episode just came out of nowhere.

Of course, this means I'll probably be adding the manga to my backlog, so I'll see for myself sometime later. Perhaps.

At the pacing this was going (Which wasn't even bad) they were going to be past the Cathedral stuff and into the Wild Hunt arc by the time the anime ended....This episode would have covered that fight in its entirety

Also, if you paid attention to the title of the next episode....Our big Cathedral battle just might happen in it

You guys need to chill out and wait and see the end before you judge things, even though you guys don't want to admit it, the Lubbock and Shura situation got handled much better than it was in the manga
Our big cathedral fight won't be the fuckin same and since you people sing the praise that they are at least trying to wrap things up, it's going to be a fuck ton worse and even more deaths that make no fuckin sense like Lubbock in this episode with those CONVENIENTLY WRITTEN IN SPEARS. fuck's sake the defenders of this episode make me sick
Won't be the same?

There's no Borick but essentially that fight was

You're starting to sound like what's his face who's been spoiling things since jump street in these episodes threads

That fact that people actually think that this death of Lubbock is better than his manga one is what makes me question the inteligence of the human race. In the manga it was all LOGICAL. Here we have conveniently placed spears RIGHT under where Lubbock was teleported. TRULY A MASTERPIECE DEATH. Fuckin joke
He was dead before he fell....The fact that his Teigu broke apart signified this....You are starting to sound like a butthurt fanboy
