The show was hilarious throughout! But they should've snapped Harima out of loving Tenma, she's so annoying and dense (Harima's density is alright but this is too dense). Eri/Yakumo should've ended up with Harima... :( Thus is the nature of romance comedies. 7/10
“Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. I'll take anything like The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Anything as good as that.
By the time I started watching the second season, I realized not to focus on story progression and instead to focus on the comedy which I believe is the best way to enjoy this series.
I have to say though Harima carries this show HARD, his ridiculous dedication to Tenma and the resulting misunderstandings that follow are what make this show one of the best school based comedies. He also elevated the characters around him particularly Eri and Yakumo, I mean their okay characters on their own but whenever they get dragged into Harima's bullshit, we get some of the best moments in the show.
I think this season tried to focus alot more on the side characters and I don't know if its because the manga is like that or it was just fillers :/ still would have preferred more of Harima. I don't really care about the other main protag, 52 episodes of just Tenma would be unbearable tbh.
Overall this series was definitely funny, and created some great character dynamics, too bad requited love isn't really a thing that exists in this show (which is frustrating because it is a ROMcom). 7/10

So of course they reset everything and nothing gets resolved. No surprise there.
Overall this season had some strong episodes (mostly Harima x Sawachika) and some really weak episodes (mostly the dream and manga-story episodes). I would say it was as a whole worse than the first season, but not bad enough to give it a lower score. 6/10
I'm very sad it's over. I'm not sure if the other 2 final OVA's are worth watching. I watched the English dub and boy, is it a fantastic job I'd say. It's weird to change language for the OVA's. But I really liked the first season a lot more. The first episode I saw I was hooked, I never understood why Harima likes Tenma so much, she (to me) can be very annoying at times. I did like the chemistry between Yakumo and Eri a lot more, I actually hoped Harima would've changed his mind and maybe saw something in Yakumo. I was actually pretty hyped for the 3rd season, but there's none which is just ridiculous, they've could atleast made a whole 3rd with a final conclusion to Harima and Tenma, Hanai and Imodori. Although Harima really does remind me of myself I did quite enjoy the supporting characters like Hanai and Imodori, I always laughed about them they were good fun. But to be honest. I'm afraid this is the end for School Rumble, such an amazing anime with such a dissapointing ending. As I mentioned I didn't watch the final 2 episode OVA yet so I'm not sure if it really ends there.
I think you should watch them, they are very scatterbrained as the ova's imply more show was going to be made that the ova's skip. I would still watch them, it will give you some closure.
Seems like this show likes to keep the status quo. Not that I really mind, I'm here mainly for the comedy anyway.
It's been over two years since I've seen S1 and I dunno how I perceive it today, but if I simply compare both seasons based on enjoyment then I have to say that S2 was superior. Pretty much every episode killed me.
Kinda sad that there are only two OVA episodes left :/

Would anyone kindly tell me what is the last chapter of the episode 26 is of the 2nd season?
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
I found this to be a much more satisfying ending than the first series. I just wish San Gakki was dubbed T_T

Feel free to talk to me, I only bite if you ask nicely :D
I really loved this show. This episode was great overall, the childhood flashback of Tenma and Yakumo, Tenma finding out that Harima was that pervert the first time they met and then the ending made me feel pretty disappointed. They basically just reset everything from square one. Harima was gonna leave the school and then Tenma told him that they should get together sometime again and basically, the cycle continues. This type of stuff pisses me off to no end. Why can't they ever have a conclusive good ending? Even if Tenma and Harima are never together, they could of still made Harima fall for Eri or Yakumo... anything! Some form of relationship in the end would suffice, but this ending is unsatisfying. Nothing happened. No conclusions. No nothing. Ugh... I know there's an OVA that came out 2 years after Season 2, because they tried to patch things up for a satisfying ending but as far as the OVAs rating go... doesn't seem like much is resolved. On my way to go watch the OVA's now. 4/5.
Out of all the 26 episodes of season 2, I think I can say that I only enjoyed about 10 episodes, which were the first 6 episodes, and the other episodes that dealt with Harima-Eri
From season 1, out of all 26 episodes, I enjoyed about 13 of them.
What really sucked about season 2 is that after episode 6, there was no more Eri-Yakumo rivalry over Harima. Those episodes were fun and intense and spicy.
The difference between season 1 and season 2, is that in season 1 it felt like the comedy was meaningful and would lead to something down the line. While in season 2, the comedy is just there to be stupid and hopefully get a laugh from the audience.
I know there is an OVA two episodes after this season 2 that concludes SR, but meh, those episodes were meh.
If they ever do continue SR in the future (which I doubt), dont follow the manga, and show us more progress between Harima-Eri.
Season 1 is miles better than season 2. But at least season 2 had some spicy Yamuko-Eri rivalry over Harima in the first 6 episodes, so season 2 has some value because of that.
And my gosh, 54 episodes we have had of SR, and we barely got any romantic progress.
SR season 2 should have been 10 episodes, and not 26 episodes.
This shit sucks lol...I'am so sad that Harima doesnt get anyone knowing how rough a ride he had it the whole show and especially with how Season 2 fleshed out more of the characters personalities in a more realistic way. All it did is just make it hurt more when you learn that nobody gets anybody and (again) Harima just get shafted with basically not getting anymore reward than
"Yes! She has amnesia for THE 2ND TIME! WOOO! GO ME!"
it's like "....what?" lol it's a horrible way for my man to go.
Even season 1 was upsetting a bit when he didn't get tenma but at least they kept the touchy moments to a minimum to still keep it humorous. I also don't think season 2 worked well when they decided a story needed to be split into 2 episodes. overall 4/10.
This season is a downgrade over the last. Too random for my liking. Out of 26 episodes, only about 6+ episodes were interesting. I'm also not a fan of shows where there's barely any plot development. Also, it's a romantic comedy, but there was barely any romance this time. This reminds me of my experience watching Ranma 1/2. Nonetheless, this show was still entertaining.
Continuing off from the First Season, duh.
And so, the many misunderstandings and unrequited loves continue.
[Ep1-2:] An unusual dark dramatic war for the class to win their choice of making a play, or a maid café. With blood and tears. It's pretty awesome but weird in how its random. Aha! It was a improvised movie.
[Ep 5-6:] Cultural Festival. Maid Café and Play --Enri finally gets confirmation that Yakumo isn't going out with Harima.
[Ep 8-9:] Tawayara Satsuki, a new chara who forms a girl's basketball club. And she also has a crush on Aso who she confesses to. But he's dense. Ok Episode.
[Ep 10:] Tenma transfers to 2-D. Harima and Hanai play a gamble and lose their whole class to 2-D. Eri and Akira punish them. And they try their best to clear their names. Ichijou and Lala fight a gang.
..These episodes have less quality, they aren't as good as the first season. But the first season's best episodes were the second half so it could pick up like last season.
[Ep 11:] A patato stew party at Mikoto's house. Nishimoto gives out his porno's. Sarah as a sister gets a guy Takano who he tells about his love problems. Sarah then receives a love letter. And Takano fails to win his soccer game that would push him to confess to Nagawaya. She cheers him on.
[Ep 12:] Tenma's dream of being splendid in every way of 165. And Harima confesses. And he's dreaming too, next to her. It's Tenma's birthday and all her friends are busy, so Harima invites her with Akira and his brother. Unfortunately plans go bad and he goes to an expensive fancy restaurant. And Tenma and his brother overkill his wallet. Luckily Eri saves him by paying the rest.
[Ep 13:] Held-back Sensei is haunting Harima. To lift this "curse", Itoko tells him to write English words to his body. Tanaka and Nagayama are doing great. The girls help Tenma study. Girl Pyjama Party talking about Mikoto and Aso's date.
I feel like it's awesome that Karasuma is almost non-existent as a character. Because, I'm pretty sure that no one likes or cares about him at all. Such a boring plain character he is. I kinda hate him.
[Ep 14:] Tenma's birthday party. Queen Tenma orders her friends challenges. Harima gives her a bouquet of flowers. Harima fulfills a favor to help out a mangaka as an assistant, that is Karasuma. And he helps him go to Tenma's party staying at his place.. Yakumo helps him with the drawing. Yakumo gives him her birthday present.
[Episode 14:] Karasuma's manga that Harima rewrote as his own story is a hot topic in class. Harima doesn't have his keys so his house was locked when Itoko left for a trip, and so Yakumo let him stay in her house, obv with Tenma being there. But unfortunately he'll be busy finishing 120 manga pages. Tenma tests if Harima is a good man for Yakumo.
[Ep 15-16:] Harima wanted to confess to Tenma last night to clear the misunderstandings but he was seen by Tenma in Yakumo's room and now she's defensive of him. Then he got kicked out. Mikoto spots him and lets him to her dojo. And Eri is freeloading there too, while she doesn't realize Harima is there with a different look. Harima is taking a bath when Eri gets in as well thinking its Mikoto. Eri reveals she has an arranged marriage meeting. The butler comes to get Eri and Mikoto orders Harima to help her escape. Tenma gets kidnaped and mistaken to attend Eri's forced marriage, which Harima goes to stop. He gets a flat and him and Eri stop at a shrine, alone. He comforts her and she wraps him with her covers together. And so they act as the marriage. With Eri's mom and Tenma. Eri confronts her mom and declines the marriage. After Tenma notices its Harima, she puts on glasses and then Eri realizes too.
[Ep 17:] Mikoto and Eri talk about last night with Harima. To repay Mikoto's help, Eri helps out in building a X-Mas tree which Harima is there too. And it was a set up. Tenma spots Eri and they badmouth him.
[Ep 19:] Harima's due-date to send his manuscript to the editor-in-chief. But instead he shows it to Tenma. And he finally shows it to Tenma and she likes it, but I don't know what was in his manga. He arrives at the manga party but breaks Tenma's curry dish that was a x-mas present for Karasuma. Tanma and Yakumo arrive, cries after giving Karasuma her broken curry dish. And when Harima realizes it was her present he runs to her. He hugs her from behind, she gets embarrassed and they make peace.
[Ep 20:] Ichijou's little brother is having an online friend come over who plays Power Rangers just like him, and when Ichijou wakes up it's Imadori in her room.
And then some dislikable filler.
[Ep 21:] Mai as a magical girl and a great funny filler skit story. I love how these skits are always close to the original story with Harima loving Tenma. And his voice acting is incredible. It was a manga.
[Ep 22:] Tenma and Karasuma go on a date. Mikoto sets up Harima and Eri in the Dancing Lion suit. Harima spies Tenma. Karasuma is about to kiss Tenma? Harima jumps to attack but gets countered falling off a cliff. Karasuma gives a hairpin, and Harima/Eri climb back up. ... Harima and Hanai are kite fighting, literally. Etc.
[Ep 23:] Ski Trip with the girls. Akari tells Harima about it. Akira loves reactions. Karasuma is there, leaves. Lala and friends go skating. Yakumo is sick and fainted. Something happens, giraffe. for Harima to go to Tenma's house and he finds Yakumo fainted, he takes care of her. Tired he falls asleep with her.
[Ep 24:] Eri invites her whole class to her ship cruise. Harima still has to draw a new 30pg manga. They hit a reef and shit happens. Hanai got tornado'd to another place. Weird. Probably Filler. This Ep is too unreal it's stupid. It's hard to tell what is reality and what is a filler episode.
[Ep 25:] Yakumo was supposed to help Harima with his manga but Tenma came instead, to his apartment. Itoko leaves them alone. And of course this manga always has them as the main characters. And he tries his best to directly tell her his feelings from this manga. Again. When he was about to reveal the story, Itoko interrupts. He tries to confess again and his stomach growls.. While sleeping in his bed, she grabs him and says I love you just like she did the first time when he first fell in love with her. Then a spirit talks to Yakumo revealing her that she likes Harima. Hate this supernatural shit.
[Ep 26:] FINAL EPISODE.
Surprisingly the sisters didn't get along as kids and Tenma always ruined Yakumo's things. Yakumo loved a book which her dad always read to her, and after Tenma broke it and bought a new one, they became the best of sisters. Yakumo loves her sister dearly so she won't intervene in Harima's love. About to kiss her she says "I love you ...Karasuma-kun" which he stops and she wakes up. And Tenma finally remembers who he is. About to tell the truth ..he gets a call from his manga manager saying that Karasuma got into an accident, and he stops his story and tells Tenma and they go to him. But they themselves got into an accident in his bike. Karasuma is at her bedside and clears the misunderstanding. He wasn't in an accident but met Zico, damn kanji. And Harima broke his arm with a sense of quit. He tries to avoid her in school and she chases him. And shit she doesn't remember much about what happened.. Of course right..
Is he ever going to properly confess to her?
And now for their 3rd semester, Next!
Even after 15 years, it's still extremely weird to see out-of-character angry bitter child Yakumo, and still her and Tenma's backstory is a tearjerker.
More frustrating misunderstandings, and as much as i always rooted for him and his impossible love, Harima could have handled some details differently. Even if, to be fair, that guy on the phone could have used a better choice of words about dead fish-look Karasuma. And now after a long hallways / rooftop chasing, Harima seems officially friendzoned (even if he returned delusional for more somehow)
MAI <3 didn't remember neither her cameo, nor the pillow fight, nor HANAI STILL BEING THE HUMAN KITE. It still doesn't get old.
Wow... it ended with a sudden random and actually pretty funny joke, but still very abrupt. Yeah, OVAs ending the anime plot were probably announced already, but...
Whatever. Great season 1, even funnier season 2 despite frustrating moments about the impossible main couple... still, those never bothered me even during my first watch in late 2008 as i was already fully aware that life is unfair and there is no hope for some people. Once again, when i laughed, i laughed HARD. My favorite girl Mai getting a almost full episode about her majocco fantasies is still a dream come true. And finally, this is a series that still worked for the rare actually sad moments and had a well handled bittersweet undertone of "live your teen years to the fullest, they won't come back, enjoy your young life before it's too late". Damn, it hits harder and harder for people like me in the late 30's that never even peaked in high school. Oh, well... 10/10.
