Damn, seriously? Things have gotten so heavy lately, and there is no way the story is actually anywhere near done... There's gotta be a sequel in store down the road. (Please let there be.) Really hope Ishida hasn't become "bored" with the series and never plans to pick it up again.. That would be so so sad. |

Sounds like your post was deleted and let me make a guess, it was something along the lines of 'This manga is shit, yo, cause reasons'. Which would be poor bait, yes. If you brought up any valid reasons though, then that would obviously be a different matter... |

I just found out and please tell me it ain't so. I'm in shock. This manga is incredible and it just ends out of nowhere? I looked forward every week reading this... I will be super pissed if it doesn't get a sequel or every question answered in the next chapter. Very sad news indeed. :( |

Ok guys, first message here (forgive me for any syntax mistake or w/e, english is not my native language, hope I'll make myself clear enough) but I had to tell you there's much hope for a second part to Tokyo Ghoul (or a sequel with an other name). There's no garantee that all of this is true. I've gathered all the information I could find and here's what I got: - On page 22 of chapter 143, (this one) if you zoom on the bottom right, you can clearly read "see you next". It's not much, but why is it hidden like that? Maybe Ishida tells us it isn't over yet. - There's gonna be a meeting called "the 24th ward secret reception" on October 11. There's gonna be people from the anime and Ishida will be there too. He said that both anime and manga fans will have a surprise (here's the only thing that I could get, So I can't be sure about this information) - About the story now, something I thought of when I read the last chapter, page 18 & 19. What if this scene is the author's reflexion about the reader's reaction (we're the Pierrot guys) ? • Did ken die trying to save the manager? How boring! (Why would you make your character say that at the very end of your manga? Except if it isn't the end) • You like Kaneki, right ? I like him as well (Now imagine the author talking to you, why would he kill a character you both like ? ***I'm not talking about the manga not ending here but w/e, I'll just slip this in***) • I want to see a much more depressing scene ( > I want more!) • Nowadays, tragedies aren't popular (Then why would you make one and end the manga like that? That makes no sense) • Why don't we have more fun? (Speaks for itself) • No point in living if things aren't interesting ( > No point in living if things are boring > *** Did ken die trying to save the manager? How boring!***) I invite you to read this, it's about the death of Kaneki. |

Well, i just finished 143, and it seems i've become addicted. This can't be the end. It's pretty obvious both the CCG and all the Ghouls are mobilizing for an all-out war. Don't tell me this is one of those open, "decide for yourself" ends, that's just dumb. And what the hell happened to Kaneki and Hide... and Amon? The hell is Aogiri Tree really after? There's another unknown organization? Who on earth was that clown? Pretty much nobody got a conclusion. This just can't end like this. At least Rize's backstory is coming up. October's our only hope it seems... |

I don't think there will be a sequel, Kaneki was hinted as dead in the end. Even if he survived, he had some serious wounds and he would turn blind. Chapter 72 was named ''halfway'' anyways. When Touka, in chapter 143, said she thinks he will come back, you can see a man with a suitcase in the background...And Kaneki before he 'died' was in peace, because he reconciled with his other self. A sequel could be possible only if it explained the Hide-Kaneki meeting, because Hide seemed like he had a plan. The clowns is another important matter. But the author could as well leave the series as that, with a ''cliffhanger'' ending. It is not the first nor the last series doing this. What's the deal with the surprise in October? I haven't read anything about it, can anyone please explain? |

Yeah it's not going to end like this. It would be downright cruel to end the manga like this. It's obvious that he's moving on to the second part and that is going to be announced on Oct. 11. If it happens that the announcement has nothing to do with the sequel for the manga, and the manga is indeed over. Then I will eat my own shoe. |
