People who watch new anime should have an easier time because of the fact that there is 2 new anime per season that you end up watching five in one year. 20 seasons of TV anime means that anyone should have at least completed 200 anime. ... Well I tried but I still don't get it. but it's Date of course so it wouldn't make sense anyway. |

| Most likely these people have been watching for a LONG time. I mean, in the course of 1 year I have seen around 80 different shows, and all my friends say that I watch wayyy too much anime. But when you think about it, if you started watching in the 90s and have kept up with shows that are airing, 1000 doesn't seem too outrageous. |

Quality over quantity doesn't change just because over time your list grows bigger and I'm still picky as to what series I start. Not to mention how you calculated 30 shows per month from Date's rather realistic 250 anime in 5 years accumulating over time. |

Almost all that have seen 1000+ series have been watching anime for years, and someone who is relatively new to anime can't simply catch up to them with dedication and watching a lot of hours each day. But really, having a big list doesn't say shit other then that you've seen a lot, so why would you care? |

| quality over quantity doesnt always work out (for me) when you watch 25-30 shows a season and they all look nice and good first but become really generic and shitty in the end (ending messes up alot of shows for me) and sometimes you just wanna finish a show cause u still got a glimmer of hope for it and that is how i keep collecting those 4/10 and 5/10 anime. i just dont like dropping a show i invested soo much time in already. it may sound silly but thats how it is for me. |

| The economic recession that had me on and off unemployment for several years led me to splurge a good amount of my spare time on watching anime. On my best days, I could get 15-20 episodes of a title completed in a day if I had nothing to do. But having had a paying job for over a year now where I work during the week and have other real life commitments on my plate, I don't have as much spare time as I used to. That, combined with my lack of interest in many recent offerings for anime, have led me to settle down on my anime viewing quite a bit over the past year. I might have over 1100 titles and 275+ days in anime viewing. But I highly doubt I'm gonna have the patience and interest in anime to plow through that many more. |

Finishing it is like a benefit of being able to judge it because you've seen all of it. Plus, I feel like if I watched more than a quarter (this varies per length obv), I should finish it. |
