| @ao_no_exo: When I did some tests with two different flagcounters it didn't work without the last / but it seems the problem was something else. So it works with or without the last /. I changed this part in the other post now. And while what you said is true for static images, we don't have a static image here. The flagcounter is a dynamically generated image and the slashes don't denote a directory structure on a server but separate parameters that modify the appearance of the generated image. When it didn't work without the last / for me I assumed it is needed to parse the necessary parameters properly while ignoring everything else after the last /. At the moment the img tag only works for images with a valid image file extension like .png or .jpg. We don't add .png here to access a static image located in a certain server path but we're using the fact that the dynamically generated flagcounter ignores everything we add at the end of the url after the necessary parameters to make the img tag believe it's a static image with a valid image file extension. |
