This was a really hit or miss anime. For me it was a hit. Despite the huge number of flaws I still enjoyed it.

I did want to see something more with Mako x Gamagoori at the end but it doesn't look like they had time for that. If only the first half of the show didn't waste so much time, it could've achieved greater heights by the end.

You're all idiots to think this was anything less than brilliant, yes the budget was small but they played it off by trying to make the badly animated parts "ironic" or sarcastically bad, everyone got decent screen time in the finale Ryuuko and Satsuki got to finally do sisterly things. I could ramble on about everything I loved about this but I don't want to write a 1,000 word essay. 10/10 buying the BD's

Rushed episode with a forced death. Ryuko's 'incomprehensible humans are humans and clothing is clothing' speech was just plain dumb. Unnecessary silliness plagues the final episode and Ragyo still wasn't fleshed out of a villain at all. So senketsu is invulnerable to damn near everything...but Earth's atmosphere..

2/5 episode

5/10 anime.

Saving anime?

The only thing this anime saved was boners from becoming flaccid. The main characters were boring, Ryuko was 'incomprehensible' (what did she hope to accomplish after finding her father's killer again), Mako...just needs to be shot, stabbed, and thrown into a river, Satsuki was interesting and became my favorite character when her uprising happened...but she was tossed aside as a support character, the four devas? Sanageyama's rivalry with Ryuko? What about Mikisugi and Tsumugu? Jobbed again? Tch, screw that we have ACTION AND TITS.

Forced yuri fanservice that made no damn sense whatsoever. Half Baked as hell villain; Ragyo was underdeveloped as a character, her plans had little motivation. COVERS were a joke because they were easily rectifiable. What was the point of going to force Satsuki to wear Shinra Kotetsu? Why did Ragyo wear Junketsu a few episodes back? There were too many plot elements that went nowhere.

JJBA Part 3'll replace KLK from your brain. Trust me.

Kill la Kill will still stay in my head, and I'M hyped for Stardust Crusaders animu

I have to say, it definitely gave me a rushed feeling, but I enjoyed every bit of KLK for sure.

Yeah, just like a lot of other 'popular' shows, there's going to be equal amounts of love and hate, I'd say if it doesn't get you in the first 3 or 4 episodes then you're not gonna have a good time with it

Same goes if you're a double standards prude and fail to see that the fan service is not only a plot point, it focuses on both genders almost equally.

Other wise it's never a dull moment in this show.

Honestly, I got a strong impression from Mako that she was trying to get Ryuko to have a "reason to come home safely", rather than being completely focused on the date itself.

I also felt that the end was fairly open-ended, as far as shipping is concerned.
(I remember seeing non-romantic "dates" like that in anime before this one)

Wow, I always found satsuki hot but with her hair cut short I want to make her my waifu. Those eyebrows are sexy as well. Did anyone else notice at the credits gamagoori blushing and hiding with the roses obviously waiting for mako to come along and ask her out? I thought that's was awesome. This could be my favorite anime of the year along with LH. Well see what else comes out in the future.

Nah, she totally wants Ryuuko's cooch...

Kidding. All the things Mako said (getting girly clothes, shopping, save the world for fashion) points to the "date" being "spend time with your BFF" type deal not what a lot of people are thinking.

On an unrelated note, I actually realized we got a Satsuki/Ryuuko hug.

They both looked so sad/happy when they greeted each other upon Ryuuko's return.

Way more touching than Satsuki's apology if you think about the fact that Ryuuko going alone into space to fight Ragyou could have been a parting between the sisters if Ryuuko died saving the Earth.

considering her obsession with ryuuko, i'm inclined to believe her feelings are romantic. plus, the action for 'date' was her kissing ryuuko on the lips. i swear people are forgetting that part.

Gawd, this episode had me shed some man tears twice. Once from the epicness upon epicness building up it just made your jaw drop. Then of course, Skenketsu - RIP. :'(

Kill la Kill was absolutely phenomenal, an absolute thrill to watch, and I'm honestly heartbroken to see it go.

A few things that irked me through the show, and this last episode (keep in mind this doesn't take anything away from the show for me, just me nitpicking):

- They brought it back up in this episode, but the whole Senketsu absorbing life fibers for strength thing, kind of fell off the wagon after the first cours like it didn't matter anymore. Again though good to see that point revisited.
- They didn't show any female nipples at all, but didn't hesitate to show that little kid's dick like a dozen times in this episode alone.
- They didn't have a final opening video that showed everyone wearing their persona goku uniforms and Ryuko wearing Junketsu.

Again, that's just me being picky. I still give this a 10 easily.

Well..really fast ending but a rush ending.
Aaannnnddd the official couple in KLK gamagori with mako is damn funny.
I guess there will be fan-fic about them. xD

But, about thing MAko kiss Ryuko, I don't think she in 'that' part. Cause back to all the previous ep, she is a out-going person. That kiss scene is more like she get her face closer to ryuko that touching the lips together.

It's not even remotely close to being brilliant. Insulting people for differing opinions, that's cool.

Here are my thoughts....

I was pretty critical of this anime from the get go, there were so many elements at play at once that I really didn't think I could enjoy this anime.

It seemed episodic, it was over the top wacky, the art style bothered me at first, and the story seemed uninteresting.

Although I really liked Ryuuko from the very get go, I wasn't sure if her personality was right for this kind of anime.

As the second half of the anime began, I saw myself enjoying the show more and more, the flaws I once saw were not so blaring anymore, the wacky nature of the show was almost like a comedy relief aspect to what would become a dark series with more in depth plot and character development.

This is truly one of the few times I can honestly say that an anime really won me over after so many criticisms....

To say the least this was one hell of a ride, very entertaining, and a predictable but still satisfying finale.

I once had this show at a 6....the final score is a 9/10.

I don't think I've ever elevated the score of a show by that much by the time it ended, but I think Kill La Kill deserves it.

I'll definitely miss this show a lot, but I'm very happy I got to see it.

As expected from the final ep, epic!

Overall kill la kill is very enjoyable series to watch, i want to give a 10 but satsuki vs ryuuko was really drag that take me out from my enjoyment sometime before the final act(which was fantastic!) so 9/10 seem ok ish.

It as good.

It was stable all n all, though it definitely had downsides ,for example the last arc was cliché, Ryuko became annoying towards the end.. but you cant have it all.

It was way better than other shows that aired during its two seasons for sure.

The art was nice, the animation did get the work done.
The OST really packed a punch, been a while (with the exception of SNK) since we had so many nice tracks.

6.5/10

PS: Gamagori was a beast

just seriously wonder how people treat this like the second coming or something lol show good but it ant that good

I don't want to get too technical but, for the people saying "anime of the year", you gotta remember this is still a 2013 anime (since that's when it premiered).

For me, 2013 best anime was Monogatari Second Season....which was one of the easiest 10/10 I've ever given out.

But it's kind of a shame I won't count this for 2014....seeing as this particular season (Winter) was pretty lackluster and the Spring doesn't look too promising either.

Being that 6 out of 10 is leaning more towards positive that's a very odd score if Satsuki was the only thing you found good about it. Unless of course you found Satsuki that enjoyable which I don't blame you.

I meant that Satsuki is the only impressive thing about the show, and most of the other stuff ranged from mediocre to bad, aside from the OST and some art/character design. Take her out, and my score would be 2-3/10. I phrased it that way, because it was shorter, to give a quick impression of the series.

Well I'm not harsh when I give scores, so yeah I mostly enjoyed Satsuki that much. Probably because she is the only thing the show has in terms of decent writing.

Just by hearing that "nee-san" from Ryuuko was enough to make me excited beyond normal, yet Trigger still pushed it to another level by showing Satsuki in short hair <3 <3 HNNNGGGGGGGG

R.I.P Senketsu, by the time Ryuuko absorbed all the life fibers from her friends, i had a bad feeling that things wouldn't end "well" with Senketsu :'(

I really wished to see Ryuuko and Senketsu end up together, just like what this fan art depicted :

anyway, aside from Senketsu's demise, everything went well. Nice ending, 9/10

"As you can see, being in a group brings no advantages to the individual. Thus, I choose to be the bear, a beast that refuses to form groups with others.
