| It was obvious after season 1 of SAO has been finished, I knew 2nd season would be releasing as SAO fans were flaming for it. I'm not actually excited about it at all since it was your average anime with overhyped comments. Bring out Season2 Attack on titan then I will be interested |

| I'm looking forward to it, mainly because of the influence my friends enthusiasm had on me, I didn't hate Season 1 nor did I properly liked it. There were a lot of on/off moments. Not sure If someone said it already, too many posts, I cba reading them all but, using guns when the theme was 'Sword Art', i just find that contradictorily funny |

If the author describe a scenery, you follow it by the book. If the author write a line, you make that character say it. If the character thinks about something, you show it. You take no liberty and follow the book in a logical and methodical way. If it comes out that the source material is lacking (ie : no description of a scene's environment), what is lacking should be deduced logically without contradicting or denaturating the work at all. Good animation, soundtrack, basically anything aesthetics is simply a plus. Easier said than done? Yes I agree. It could make quite an horrible show? Yes I also agree. Still it doesn't change that this is what I believe is an objectively good adaptation. A good adaptation doesn't make a good anime, a good interpretation of the source material by a third party does. ^big wall of IMO. This is not objective. Why so? The moment you take the liberty of removing even the sligthest of elements or add something it all comes down to your interpretation of the source material and therefore become a subjective adaptation. The only way to make an objective adaptation is to not fall in subjectivity and follow the source material word by word. If you don't agree at least have the courtesy of explaining your point of view. As the source material can be pretty much subjective to each one of us, we interpret it differently. That's like, the first thing that pretty much says that it's subjective, that the adaptation does or not follow the source material "word by word". Also, words are not like images, making images out of those words is also subjective in itself, lets not forget that descriptions in themselves are not complete because they don't need to be, it relies on our imagination. So yeah, I've read the LN, I don't see what's missing, if you can, that's you and a few others, or maybe the majority, but who cares, nothing is missing for me, I see the last adaptation as a perfect one, of course, in my views of "perfect", as it does not truly exist. |

| Absolutely cannot wait for this new season! But will this directly follow from season 1? And I heard that Asuna will not be a main character in this, is this true? |

Asuna will have a very little role to play in the next arc, you'll see her 5% of the time at best. In this arc she's more of a secondary character than a main character. If they adapt Mother's Rosario in the second half then she'll return under the spotlight as a main character. |

| I want it to get weird. Just like really over the top fan service that makes everyone uncomfortable. I just can't forget about that tentacle scene in the first season, and then how the main feature of the trailer was that girl's butt. I don't know, I just feel like it has to happen. |

| While I was watching the first season of SAO, my dreams shattered after 15-16th episodes, because it felt like I'm watching another anime when he went back to find Asuna. It's going to be based on guns this time, maybe? I just hope that the SAO II won't disappoint me as much as the first one. |

| Finally. Been waiting forever for this and I don't understand why people keep on saying it had so much wasted potential. For a 25-26 episode anime I think it did great, yeah its not the masterpiece it could have been, but it didn't waste its potential. After the long break production took to work on other animes I think SAO II will be better than SAO I (Having to call it that now is going to be annoying). Although I would have preferred if the Gun Gale arc was an OVA. |

Too bad not everyone here thinks the same way. Getting slightly back to the topic on hand, I didn't think SAO was perfect, but not once was I ever bored with it. I am most definitely looking forward to a second season, hoping that they are more adept at adapting the novel. |

Although I would have preferred if the Gun Gale arc was an OVA. >it didn't waste its potential Oh yes it did. For a work that involves being trapped in a video game, I would've liked to see the consequences of using video games as escapism ("The truth, Kirito, is that you're here because you wanted to feel like something you're not: A hero.") and being a white knight in a world where anyone can backstab you. Some compelling themes. Kayaba is a flat villain who forgets the entire reason why he even made SAO, The MMO could've been a social experiment dealing with seeing how humans react when trapped in an unknown setting and to show that humans are no better than beasts when left to their own devices; "I didn't kill any of you, you all chose to kill each other. You cast the blame on me because you couldn't accept what you've become: A monster.") Now, what it did it did horribly. There's a lack of internal consistency. You might not know but programs are rigid structures with clearly defined operations. When your health hits 0, you're designated as dead. Why should Kirito be any different? He's only human (at least, he should be, but he's as OP as it gets). That's only some of the stuff. I didn't even get to characterization, but the list of grievances goes on. |

| I have to admit,I mostly enjoyed SAO. It was refreshing that the main character for once got the girl so soon ,but I had my doubts when I saw how happy Kirito and Asuna were when it was only half season,I was afraid something terrible was going to happen, and I was right. When I first saw Sugou at the hospital,I kept thinking: omfg he's so creepy! He ruined SAO for me, after SAO:s last episode, Oberon had become so disgusting that I doubt if I can ever again watch SAO after the episode when Sugou makes he's appearance. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I just hate creepy perverts... |

Also spoiler The system that make up every rules in SAO is called the Cardinal System. wiki said: The «Cardinal System» (カーディナル・システム, Kādinaru Shisutemu?), occasionally referred to simply as Cardinal, serves as the primary driving and management force of nearly all Virtual Reality MMOs in the «Sword Art Online» Universe. The system was originally developed by Kayaba Akihiko to manage all resources, processes, and events within Sword Art Online. A portable version of the Cardinal System was included in the World Seed to facilitate the easy management of new VR worlds. If the Cardinal want it, disabling Kirito's death is child play. It acts in an objective fashion most of the time but helped Kirito on a whim because of his feeling at the moment. It is thought to be the precursor of the 'Incarnate system' from Accel world which grants power to an invidual through willpower alone. |
