I never expected Aoki to become the champion... I mean we already got two champions at Kamogawa gym, and Aoki and Kimura have been used as the "lesser boxers", as a contrast to Ippo and Takamura. So them winning a title match wouldn't make sense.
But GODDAMNIT I want Aoki to win this now! This fight was a blast to watch, and I love how they used some epic OST and even re-used the OP theme from the first season for this spectacular fight. Aoki is an absolute madman for trying these crazy tricks, he DEFINITELY deserves the belt!
Though even if my worries come true and he loses, he's still a winner. After all he still has Tomiko and her sweet DSL's waiting for him. Where's she in your damn best waifu votings? That's right, she's not allowed to participate because she'd win by default.
You know, I was really disappointed with the last season, or that stupid fight against mermaidman. But Aoki's fight brought back all the hype and fun I had experienced in the first season. I am glad that Hajime no Ippo hasn't lost it's charm after all and it can still surprise me. I'll definitely read the manga after finishing this season.
Aoki is a bona-fide unassuming genius, damn. His unorthodox fighting style may look like he's belittling the sport but every single move of his takes a lot of factors and thinking into consideration. This match made me appreciate him even more and he's truly is a master of psychologically toying with his enemies!
I guess that he'll be getting it on with Tomiko all night long after this.
dunno what i laughed more, that opra OST (i mean WTH O_O) or aoki's trick, lol that was so funny, specially second time xDDD
still though we know now aoki have his own stuff, he isn't serious material for me as takamura and ippo.
i mean, i want the serious stuff on the opening to happening already lol, and i have feeling we aren't far from there.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much from Aoki in terms of serious fighting. But he really defied my expectations. While risky due to the amount of damage he probably took, it was smart thinking wearing Imae out by pretending to have already given up. I guess that he couldn't beat Imae in terms of raw strength and he probably factored in Imae's overconfidence into the success of his plan. And then on top of that, he was able to perform a sneak attack on Imae by faking him out with his sudden loss of attention to the fight. I was a little surprised though that Aoki was able to be successful with it a second time.
Without a doubt, this fight has been one of the best I've seen in everything I've been watching anime. I was watching it while I was in the bus from my work going home, I held myself back from laughing. xDD
Omg XD this episode was AMAZINGLY HILARIOUS hahahah
I'm dying rn. That was so good. How does this crap work XD
Aoki a top tier character lol.
On the other hand this champion is definitely the weakest one so far. Imagine if Mashiba or Sendo had three rounds to pound on someone non-stop. They would definitely win.
