Brilliant, I really did enjoy this last episode, it was great end to this series, I can't wait for season 2! :)
This anime really show what happens when cliches meets stereotypes and it does wonderfully! Even those Junko personalies, hell yeah!

I also like they didn't show any of the outside world or try to explaining their amnesia - some things are better left to watchers' and players' imagination after all and there were tidbits all over the place. Anyone can speculate what happened next.

8/10 (now to the completing of the game)

Man this show was terrible, I think the final straw for me was the uber cliche of 'Oh, we need a password. It turns out it was the name of his daughter...' -.- Seriously? Seen that way way way too many times.
ED was pretty badass though, I'll give it that.
5/10

well this show was intended to be one big cliche from the first time I just wonder you haven't found out sooner.

um, so. ., Kirigiri's father is an evil bear?

No no, we don't know who is controlling Monokuma at the end. Kirigiri's father has always been a good guy, but he is obviously dead.

I think that end is there just for the sake of cliche endings of many horrors or battle royles, only as a symbol that true antagonist never dies, it can really mean nothing. Or we can assume one of other students survived perhaps :)

Agreed. I felt like she was just all talk, and no motive. "HAHA I'm such a sadist and masochist! Despair FTW!!"

This last episode was ok, i liked Enoshima, she's insane ! But i disliked all the stuff with Naegi and his hope message, what he's saying is true and it's alright the way he convinced his comrades but the animation on that moment was too much for me. Monokuma is back though, hope it'll get a second season with the rabbit, it'll for sure be a fun duo.

Well, I really enjoyed this anime. I started watching it after it finished, so I didn't have to wait for a new episode, so basically, I didn't investigate. At all. And I think that's why I enjoyed it. When I see reviews, or opinion about this anime, most people complain that investigations were so short and out of nowhere everyone knew everything when they entered the trial. Well, I kind of agree but it didn't bother me.

The only thing that bothered me was character development. Actually, lack of character development. I didn't really care about any of them, I just enjoyed the plot & Monokuma.

But holy shit, Junko. I was so sad when she died so early, because I immediately fell in love with her (what can I say, I'm a sucker for bitchy characters like her), so I was satisfied with ending.

I give this series 7 out of 10. Enjoyed it. I'd probably give it less if I played the game.

Honestly, I enjoyed watching this anime until then end where the explanation of the game was utter shit. At first glance, I thought it would turn out to be some type of Virtual Reality game that they were in, because of the pink blood, enclosed place cut off from the rest of the world, the food that magically refills itself, the Monobear that magically appears, also the blackmail showing their family and friends showing up dead if they didn't finish the game, and a bunch of other shit.

The explanation of everything in the last episode kinda ticked me off and turned the story into shit. The story made even less sense. Junko, killed her sister for no reason and she made everyone kill each for no reason. That's honestly quite possibly one of the worse storyline simply because there was no motive for the slaughter for the last saviors in a post-apocalypse setting.

Well, I did enjoy watching this and I enjoyed the anime itself, but the ending wasn't my cup of tea. I would have preferred Junko to have a motive or it was just all a VR game of some sort instead.

Well, either way, I loved the characters in this story. I'm also interested in playing the game now. Hopefully, it's better explained.

I loved Junko though, I wish I got to see more of her throughout the anime, it's a shame that we didn't get to see more of her.

I really liked this anime, Kirigiri is a awesome character and one of my all time favorites already, out of the 6 that survived 2 were kinda lame, that donut girl and that crazy hair dude making it out alive was kinda ... ehhhhh ... they look like murder bait to me but I guess the other 4 were okay. I was expecting a lot more of them to die but I guess this anime is different from other survivals.

She's clearly fucked up in the head. She and Mukuro were homeless for some extended period of time and, as she put it, "hated being alive from the moment they were born." Obviously life has not treated her well and she has some sort of mental problems going up there. Not realistically but at least the homeless part sort of backs up why she's so messed up - we don't know what she's seen out there. Plus her sister disappeared to go train with mercenaries so that would give her some attachment issues with her peers as well.

Then again I would not be surprised if the anime just completely forgot to cover all of this. In that case, *hangs head in shame for those who didn't play the game*

Her reason for doing all this is to see despair, she even said so in the first episode. From the moment she was born she already considered this world dull and boring. She has no justifiable reason for doing any of this (For the evulz) Junko does this for fun and games. From what I know she purposely killed her own parents just to know the despair of being homeless. In other words any kind of harsh situation Junko was put in, she did it on purpose because despair is a wonderful emotion to her.

Basically she has been fucked up in the head since she was born and even Junko doesn't know why someone like her exists. The closest example to her in another series would be Kotomine Kirei. And you could even say she is a female version of The Joker.

I don't think someone can actually evaluate how they felt about life at a young age. But she's definitely a born sociopath if her desire for despair wasn't caused by any outside influence, which is a perfectly fine explanation in my book since sociopaths have killed without rhyme or reason in the past.

Well I didn't play the game so maybe that's the reason why I enjoyed watching this Anime because those people who played the game will be really disappointed by this adaption because it's very short they should have make it 25 episodes but as for me who didn't played the game I really enjoyed watching this Anime even though there are some flaws I just ignored it and just enjoyed watching it though I really wish that it could have been longer at least 25 episodes but oh well.

Well I like the story because it was interesting and I like solving mysteries too :D and I like Naegi's character because he is good at solving mysteries and I like Kirigiri too :3 Junko was hot though :3 well I hope that they'll make a season 2 I'm going to wait for it :D

Edit: Thanks ^_^

To all those complaining about Junko's lack of motive. She was broadcasting the brightest students in the country killing each other (the country's future, hope) in order to squash the last remaining hope from the world. Its better explained in the game than the anime but then again, what isn't?

I didn't expect that Junko is the mastermind, so they all have amnesia after all.

Not bad ending, they didn't show what happened to them after going outside but I hope they make season 2.

In the end she's just doing this for fun, its her way of entertaining herself like how we watch anime for entertainment. Honestly I think its better this way because there is no good reason to turn the world to shit and getting best friends to kill each other.

Yes that's the light novel Dangan Ronpa Zero its a prequel which explains things left out from the first game like how Junko stole their memories. And also sets things up for the second game. There isn't really much about her past in there but you do get to understand her more, so anyone who doesn't like her character steer clear of the light novel.

People who complain about adaptations are never able to be pleased. Changes were made. I wouldn't even say it's worth comparing different media versions of a story under average circumstances. I hadn't played the game up until I started watching the show, so I'll get to that soon enough. The show was ok. I figured out the "twists" a little to early for me to call it great, but I don't know if that's the show's fault or me watching too many mystery pieces.

Like some people said, even the original story of the game, it was a bit strange for the mastermind do it for "despair". I mean... really, come on. Plus, it was a very rushed anime, this would need at least 25 eps. Each class trial lasted at least 1 hour and 30 minutes, the game has 6 chapters, so 3 class trials and is more than the whole anime.

I recently came off of the game so all of this was fresh in my mind but watched it anyway. While I didn't expect the characters to get much development due to the amount of episodes, they really simplified the trials. A lot of the things they brought over straight from the game(Bullets) really didn't work for me and the deaths really should have been in style of the anime. Even though I enjoyed the game(8/10) this is a 6/10 for me.

This is THE most rushed anime I've seen. After watching this a day after beating the game, it just feels like a long recap. Should have been at least 26 episodes. Also, to people complaining about the ending, the game ends the same way. They were already beginning the production of the second game before the first one was even completed. Overall, 6/10.

I still don't get why Junko made them kill each other. "Despair" is an unconvincing motive so I'll say out of boredom. But I couldn't care less anyway since all the characters have stereotypical anime personalities that it was nice watching them die one by one.

I haven't seen the gameplay or played SDR2, but I know that Kirigiri and Naegi are gonna be in the second game. Also, all the other characters are gonna be new, and apparently more batshit insane than the first game's characters.

Junko was the best part in the entire anime, this final episode took my score up to 7 ^^ I loved the various expressions xP
Generally speaking I kind of enjoyed this anime, and in that sense I guess I'm lucky that I haven't played the game. I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed this anime so much otherwise. It's just a shame everything was rushed, there was almost no time left for the viewer to try to figure out everything him/herself. If there was, it would've done wonders to this show :)

4/5 for the episode, 7/10 for the show thanks to the final episode :)

Pretty dumb ending. I am just going to assume they are all going to die when they leave because the air is contaminated. There is a reason everyone agreed to stay into the school in the first place. It is possible she is lying but if she isn't then they are screwed. They should have done more investigating in the school to see if the air purifier is really he only thing keeping them alive.

I don't get the logic also about how if Junko dies, then the air purifier will not work. Maybe she is the only one who knows how to operate it? I don't really get it. Also the food they showed did not look like pure preservatives, so wouldn't they rot? Unless they are preservatives but don't appear to be. They didn't show them testing the theories to see if Junko was telling to truth before making the bold move and trying to leave the school, dam they all really don't care about their lives!

and god bless this anime for killing that bitch first.. i forgot her name :p

overall, i was thinking about giving it 5/10, but considering how i love the execution part i guess 7/10 will be a bonus
