Any recommendations for something that gives a strong sense of locations and cultures, especially shows involving travel? Like something that clearly shows the atmosphere that results from people going about their daily lives (like the bustle of a busy market, the sereneness of a rural countryside, the various activities that go on in a village). Or something that has nice changes in scenery. Like the world is bigger than the characters. Some great examples would be Spice and Wolf, Katanagatari, Fractale, and Princess Monokoke. Aria the Animation is a pretty good example, though there's not really much travel there, but it often showcases the nice developed world and its traditions and people. Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, Sword Art Online, and Zero no Tsukaima are also decent examples, though to a lesser extent. |

Hi there everyone ! Perhaps it has been already asked .. and if it has , well sorry! I'm looking for a anime with a well developed romance and supernatural stuff or a fantasy universe .You know , a show where the male protagonist establishes a relationship episodes after episodes with the female protagonist. I don't have great examples but here some that could help you to give me recommendations: -Guilty Crown (the romance aspect is not that important and doesn't take a huge place in the story ) - SAO ( it is not supernatural but almost ..) - Steins;Gate ( but the romance takes too long to be set ) |

I can't pinpoint the common factor here, but there is something about Heat Guy J, Cowboy Bebop, Speed Grapher, Outlaw Star, Great Teacher Onizuka, Higashi No Eden, and Trigun that I absolutely love. It seems like this undefined thing I love about them is in all of the anime I listed above. Maybe it's the style? Anyways, can anyone recommend any anime based off the ones I just listed? I've already seen and loved Samurai Champloo, but it doesn't have the same feel as the ones I listed. Edit: Ghost in the Shell has that same "feel" as well. |

Two others that would fit well into that category:

I have less a recommendations request, than actually more of a question. I somewhen had watched something, I was sorts of thinking of just recently, but I can't neither really remember the setting/plot/caracters or the title or anything save "bad carbon copy/rip off of the Rahxephon Movie's alternate ending". As to what that alternate movie ending is: There are two lovers, they get sperated. They meet again, but he is no clue who she is, they somewhat come together, but he is special and all and ultimately gets to become some sort of god, watching over the world and can occasionally come to visit her in a sort of ghost-like form, while she remains human But as an excuse/gift, they both get memories of a happy life and she also gets children from him. At the end, she even has a granddaughter and he comes to visit her. The more I think of it, I can only think of Madoka to fit halfway with some similarities, but then, I wouldn't know, why I should think of it as a bad rip off. (Especiall since there is no couple getting togehter and one of them being left behind with a child.) Any ideas? |

So I'm kind of a weird person, "M" or whatever, but anyways I like anime that have strong female leads :p You know, like how Senjougahara is :3 I generally enjoy any genre of anime, well, as long as it isn't something from the 20th century, my spoiled eyes can't seem to handle the animation quality of the shows from back then xp I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an anime or two that has female characters like Suzutsuki Kanade from Mayo Chiki! in it. Well, I'm not specifically looking for sadist-ish characters like her, but more like someone who's composed and usually in control of the situation(s). I've been having trouble looking for an anime I like recently (even though I have a measly watched anime count) in general. Maybe my tastes are bad, or whatever lol. If someone can help it would be nice :) Thanks. Edit: Oh, I was looking at newmn84's signature, and I wanted to put in that a character like the elder sister of the female lead in Chuunibyou is an example of the type of character that I'm looking for in anime :) |

@FatLerke These are some anime I've picked from autumn 2011 (end of 2 year ago) on-wards that seem most worth watching, hopefully you find a few of them enjoyable. Ano Natsu de Matteru Another Ben-to*** Chuunibyou*** Fate/zero* Hyouka* Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita JoJo's Bizarre Adventure*** Nisemonogatari*** and then Nekomonogatari Psycho-pass* Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo*** Shin Sekai Yori Sword Art Online I think thats it, theres a couple more here and there, if you click here I'll put a link to a site that has them nicely laid out on what days they aired, theres a link at the top left or right too to go forwards a season, or back a season so you might find a few more worth watching, I just picked out what I thought are good ones. If I marked them with a * then I thought they were particularly good, if I marked them with a *** then I thought they were good, but only if you don't take it too seriously. EDIT: I'm so derp i didn't check my links, herpaderp. |

I am looking for a show that I haven't watched that is like Korezom, To Love-Ru Darkness, GJ-bu, Date A Live, or Nisemonogatari, HenNeko or Oreimo. Essentially a relatively new harem, or semi-harem, anime with amazing art, plenty of fanservice, lots of comedy and likeable characters. Additionally, the male lead is very important for me. All the shows above have male leads that I like or can relate to. However, I don't really like male leads like the ones from Sankarea, Hyouka, TWGOK, Chunnibyou, 11 eyes, or Campoine. Essentially, they are all kind of boring and they lack zest for life. You have a harem, so it's okay to be a bit perverted! On the other hand, being perverted is nothing without being virtuous. I can't relate to the leads from Heaven's Lost Property, or Akikan, even though they probably have their good moments. They both ignore the main the girl in their harem because they aren't human, which is kind of annoying. Likewise, the leads from GJ-bu and Date A Live aren't really that perverted. They are more like nice guys who react normally when something erotic happens. As a potentially important side note, I didn't really like Rito season one of To Love-Ru but he has slowly become a better and better character. He has proven that he really is a nice guy and the way he is easily embarrassed is great for the show, given its particular dynamics. Does anyone have some suggestions based off my list, my scores, and what I have just written. If you want to recommend something that I have dropped or put on hold, please explain why it gets better. Also, it doesn't have to be a harem or ecchi but I seem to enjoy those shows the most. |

if you like NGE, you might want to try out rahxephon (imo, the more sympatic NGE) |
