I'm gonna have to pass on watching another season. I'm more interested in the LN at this point than the anime, so I'll be getting my fill from that instead. |

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

There is no need to wait for more material. Can't wait for second season. But it won't come out at least in Spring or Summer 2014 because they needed more materials, so they can animated it. I'm sure the "new material" they meant was the (main) 8th volume. That's in December, so a Spring 2014 sequel is pretty likely. Winter 2014 would likely cut it too close. --- As for the debate over consuming novels too fast, honestly you can't wait too long. Especially when the novel sales boost is happening now, and won't last forever. Better to do it within a year of the first season as soon as you have enough material. Third seasons are uncommon anyway, so waiting for more than 4 additional volumes won't have much benefit. You can't do a third season until you're around 12 novels anyway and it may not get that far any time soon. Also manga and novels get cut short due to declines in sales and other factors. |

I know Haganai and IS and Date A Live are same in using up the stock, but I have explained what difference I meant - how far apart the two cours in terms of airing time. And here Date A Live is different. So what is the "same difference"? Also I don't see why you are so unhappy with anime adapting more of the LN. As I said, if the adaptation is too rushed that the feel of the LN was lost, then it is a cause of complaint, but it seems that your complaint is not how rushed the adaptation is but how much the LN stock is used for adaptation. And isn't that part of it as well? Covering more volumes affects the adaptation of the source, cuts out some of the important characterizations and rushing the developments. If anime producers do plan to do multiple seasons, they should have considered how much to cover in each season and properly adapt its feel. Which is again why I said that I'm confused over their decisions about adaptations and again I mentioned that I will just accept what they do with most sources of any form. |

Date a Live is one of those animes that didn't start off really well, but it really picked up as the series went on and was very good. The fact that there is more material to use, does give them a basis for a 2nd season, that coupled with the fact that the finale doesn't give off the vibe of being done and dusted. |

Your post has been about "burning through the stock" and little about why that burning is not a good idea. Consuming all the stock, if the adaptation is good, should not be that big a problem, right? So if your complaint is actually about "cutting characterizations and rushing development", perhaps it is better to state that at the beginning. Otherwise, your first post only seems to be saying that you are against leaving no stock for adaptation, not because of one cour of anime using up too many LN volumes .And isn't that part of it as well? Covering more volumes affects the adaptation of the source, cuts out some of the important characterizations and rushing the developments. This is so awesome. I absolutely love this show. I even read the 5th light novel yesterday and I was thinking I really hope this gets a season 2. And it has! I can't wait to see the VA choices. Someone said Spring 2014 as a likely target. Maybe it could be even faster since the announcement was so quick. I wouldn't mind fall or winter 2013 : ) |

Didn't even finish the last two episodes of Date A Live first season because I felt Kurumi never got enough screentime. She is the only good, hot and fappable character in the show. I wasn't also sure if she'd win the Date A Riveu so I felt if I'll watch more I'll be just gravely disappointed, but judging by the second season announcement, she didn't win right? They gotta stretch the story. Blah. Well, when it airs, I'll finish the last two episodes just to see more Kurumi in the second season. I have no other reason to watch something with no other redeemable character besides her, and nothing else to be interested in, as everything else just feels non-existent to me. |

Not like I didn't expect this. Well at first I was really disappointed with Date A Live because a lot of the stuff during the middle-ish annoyed me (the battle/action/serious scenes were very well done, though) because well. I felt like the dates were dumb. I also didn't like Origami very much. But then I realized that in the end, the entire arc redeemed it for me, because that portion of the anime was actually very entertaining. So I'll be looking forward to this. The screencaps for the trailer (not including the bondage one) were pretty interesting too. |

The battle scenes could have been animated better, but I felt like those and the other serious scenes in the anime were done well. I liked how Origami was in the last couple of episodes, a girl who's bent on revenge. But she just rubbed me the wrong way the rest of the anime. I kind of liked her at first but her inability to listen to others drove me crazy. In the end, I just found her annoying (but it's not like I hated her or anything, I just didn't like her very much. Well at least not as much as the other characters). In the end I guess it's just preference. |
