Eh, didn't like this episode too much. I didn't really feel anything when he died.

Wow this was a really good episode! Somehow by the end I had tears in my eyes. I really wasn't expecting that. This series is really getting good! Of course, it already was rather great.

I think that was one of best episodes so far, if not best.Totsuka seemed to be a nice guy, too bad someone killed him.I wonder if it was really Shiro, though i don't think so.Theres is this other guy with long-white hair, who is imo more suspicious.

4/5 i hope for more eps like this.

The Red King and his team is what keeps me watching this anime...and since this episode focused on them, I absolutely loved it. Easily best episode yet.

Kuroh in the beginning of the show: "Im going to kill you because you look somewhat similar to the guy in this video"
Kuroh in this episode: "I need to make sure who you are first, as pertaining to my late masters words."
Really? Really?

Well, it seems like the plot is FINALLY starting to get a bit interesting with the protaganist being a fake person or something. There's a tiny thread barely keeping this from being dropped.

Am I like the only person who didnt really care about Totsuka death? I mean sure it's sad, but we've only known the character for what, 10 minutes? Its hard to get attached to a character in 10 minutes. I will say seeing Yata cry made me a bit sad, but otherwise I don't understand why everyones making such a big deal out of it. Have you all read the manga and got attached to his character in it or something?
0 Feels were given.

Edit: I just read over some more of the earlier posts, talking about how this made them cry a ton, ect. ect., and my question is how?! I mean I cry over things that deserve it, like the Clannad series, Ano Hana, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Angel Beats, and 5 centimeters per second, and I've cried in some where it's not really trying as hard, such as Code Geass and Gurren Lagann, but this? How does this make you sob? I guess this show is too hit or miss, and it missed me.

Well Qui Kuro clearly stated that he was only going to kill Yashiro if he was truly sure that the colorless king was evil. He has spent enough time with Yashiro to know that he isn't evil.

also lots of buttmad in that post.

Wow this show is really starting to get interesting now. Started to feel a bit for Homra losing their boy, and the song at the end was a good touch. I'm still predicting that Madoka-like ending where we don't really find out the truth until the very last episode and Yashiro is gonna have superpowers and kill everyone. I wonder if they're ever gonna explain this whole "Weismann level" thing and why Mikoto's is reaching its limit.

People cry for different reasons, and some cry easier than others. Not everyones the same you know. Code Geass isn't even sad, same with Gurren Lagann.

Code Geass, and to an extent Gurren Lagann, appeal to the sense of tragedy. This tries to do the same, but the problem I had is it didn't give you time to connect to the characters. Gurren Lagann gave you around 10ish
and 15ish
, and Code geass gave you up to 50 episode's for some characters.
How much time does K give you? 10 minutes. Thats why I don't understand why people are making such a huge deal out of this character. I agree it's sad, and he's a likable character, but still.

Ano Hana? That one's just a tearjerker, a glorious, glorious tearjerker.

But fine, it's all subjective, and I acknowledge that. But there is always a line of logic behind it all, and I would like to know your opinion on why you/other people find this so sad.

My reason: I read the manga.

But as for why other people might find it sad, maybe it's due to how they get attached to the characters who like Totsuka, so seeing those characters sad makes them feel sad as well?

Just a thought.

I don't find it sad. I've only ever cried on a series like Angel Beats, Air. Currently watching Kanon and Clannad (Soon). I'll prob tearjerk that too.

what makes me sad was shiro, not totsuka. it's not sad enough to make me cry.
for some reason i don't feel anything about totsuka....
and i agree that it's all subjective.
anyway i didn't feel sad even a bit at Ano Hana and 5cms...

Different colored eyes..color hair..hair length also..
Undercover disguise I guess? Maybe only the bartender knows who she is. Only logical thing I can think of.

This anime is getting more and more confusing.. I want an answer who/what the heck Yashiro is already ><

I think the eye color and hair color are different by red light. She has long hair, but her hair is tied (so it looks shorter).

Yes, the bar has red light that makes everything look redder. But I don't know where she keeps all the hair.

I'm quite intrigued by this episode. It seems that it's getting to hold on something. It's starting to go on it's way. Loved the whole episode though it full of flashbacks but at least i know the backgrounds of each character.

The only thing about this one is that it makes me more confused as it gets to the point lol

Anyways i wanna know if this is based off from some orig material??? I thought this was done off from scratch (means it's not adaptation or something) What's the manga for?

There are two manga from the K project. One is called "K: Memory of Red", published last month. It is a bunch of short stories about the minor characters in the Red Clan. Another one is called "K: Side Red", to be published later this month. It is about how the Red King met Anna, the very quiet little girl. Both are prequels and happened some time before the events in the anime.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Well, Thanks for answering my query about the mangas but why is it dated May 28, 2012 on MAL if it was published last month? Does it mean that MAL's info isn't trusted as to what it's showing on the manga's page?

To be honest, I always trust the Japanese source more than anything when it comes to anime, manga or LN/VN information.

Do you know "Jap" is a derogatory term for Japanese? Just like nxxger word for Blacks (check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jap ) But to answer your question, no I am not Japanese but I know the language.

On-topic, the sales of K BD/DVD seems to jump up quite a bit as vol.1 and vol.2 went on sale this week - I wonder if the latest ep.6 may help boost the sale. In any case, the producer of K once said that just for introducing the characters and their group it will take 6 episodes....

I think this is for the collected volume of the K: Memory of Red manga and not the individual chapters being published monthly on the ARIA magazine. So MAL's info on the manga is correct.

As for the anime, it's slow-paced in unraveling it's story but I don't have a problem with it.

My hopes about this show rose a lot with this episode. The story is back on track and it seems that this is only the start.
Episode 6/13, I wonder how big the actual story is with, the current pace is really slow.
The next episode should be really good so I'm looking forward to it.

Ah... finally the plot's thicken. Now, this anime is better. I just can't understand how could they waste their time in first episodes. Well yeah, they still have some episodes to make it really good.

And, Neko knows something. I should have realized it sooner.. Obviously, more twists are coming.

what makes me sad was shiro, not totsuka. it's not sad enough to make me cry.
for some reason i don't feel anything about totsuka....
and i agree that it's all subjective.
anyway i didn't feel sad even a bit at Ano Hana and 5cms...

Yes, Shiro's condition makes me sad. But if only they introduced Totsuka earlier, I would feel really sad for him.
Waiting for next week anime gives me another reason to live.

And the plot thickens. I have a feeling that it won't disappoint. Still, I kind of want Yashiro to not just be a garbage character when it comes to battles...

After watching this episode... my heart... it hurts....

I feel your pain Yata...

I was literally crying my eyes out by the end of this episode. Becoming emotionally attached to Totsuka by reading the manga and listening to the Radio Dramas made watching him die even more horrible. He was so sweet and adorable in the manga. To anyone who hasn't read the manga, I suggest you read it. It's called K: Memory of Red.

And about Mikoto and Totsuka. They both seemed really close, didn't they? How they interacted with each other and everything...

Did anyone else notice that he got the same piercing as Totsuka on his ear after he died? Just an observation.

I believe that the subject of Mikoto loosing control of his power and going berserk has been hinted since episode 3. As shown in his nightmare, the whole city was destroyed and his hand was charred from overusing his sanctum. Him having a flashback where Totsuka tells him that his powers were made to protect in his dream made me think that Totsuka was possibly the one that kept Mikoto under control all these years. But now that he's gone, how will he control himself anymore? Maybe we will get to see him go berserk later on.

And when Totsuka starting singing it was just so... beautiful. Everyone in Homra was smiling, even Mikoto. It was just so perfect. Homra just isn't the same without Totsuka around.

Whoever... WHOEVER killed Totsuka. I don't care if it's Shiro or Neko or... I DON'T care. Whoever killed Totsuka must die in the most painful and slow way possible.

R.I.P Totsuka-san <3 *crawls back into corner and cries*

I’m just trying to be okay. Some days it’s harder than others. I hide away the most real parts of myself from everyone else. The emotions that I try to escape from. The constant pain I feel. The nightmares that keep me awake at night.

It hurts sometimes... knowing that the world is continuing happily all around me while I continue to drown in alcohol and slowly die inside myself.
