| I haven't done any comparing myself yet so I'm not actually sure. I haven't felt like picking up anything more with incomplete subs lately, so mostly I've just been keeping an eye on their releases and holding out on watching for when they're actually complete. They're pretty tempting though, Goldfish Warning especially! |

| I've got a new joint project that I'm doing with Hi no Tori Fansubs: Dororo (from 1969). Dororo was the first in Fuji TV's legendary Calpis Comic Theater series of programs, which later became known as World Masterpiece Theater. Unlike many of those series which were based on famous books, Dororo was based on a manga by the great Osamu Tezuka. The television series was produced by Tezuka's Mushi Productions, the episode directors were Osamu Dezaki and Yoshiyuki Tomino and the music was done by Isao Tomita. It is also notable for being the last anime TV series to be made in black and white. He got some DVD boxset or something, the video quality and the subs are both great, not bad at all. Definitely not HK's, unless, they're the best HK's I've ever seen. Nice! Looks to be a good one. |

| That's correct. The first two OVAs were called "Variety of Vifam" and were just a compilation of scenes from the series. If I'm remembering correctly, they weren't even really a proper recap, more a collection of favorite scenes for fans to remember their favorite moments from the show after it went off the air. And Vifam 13 is a remake rather than a sequel. The first episode starts at the same place as the original first episode, with the evacuation of the human colony. I bought the first laserdisc way back when with the intention of possibly subtitling it, but I remember being unimpressed after watching it. |
