| Well that was...kind of tragic I guess? Feels like too much happened in the first chapter with Nezuko, the action, violence, Oni, etc. I hope we learn more about the Oni in general besides their violent nature. Speaking of which, there's probably elite Oni slayers or something out there that deals with trouble like this. |

| Figured it was time to see why Demon Slayer became the biggest thing ever, outselling One Piece and managing to become one of the top ten best selling manga of all-time in only four years. Initial impressions here are pretty good, the only thing I knew about this really were the character designs and that presumably they were going to be slaying demon, never knew his sister was a demon or the origins. That's a pretty good hook, and I thought the encounter with Giyu was pretty good. I really like how he lambasted Tanjiro for bowing his head, and I thought Tanjiro's hatchet plan was clever, hopefully the action is focused on smart subterfuge like that. Nezuko ending up turning to protect him was pretty nice too. My favourite scene was probably the ghosts of his massacred family saying their goodbyes to him. Little moments like that help make the family feel less like just plot devices for a tragic backstory and more like characters. |
| Since Season 2 is gonna come out by the end of this year....I figured why not complete the manga....that said man this was a really painful chapter :( Let's see what happens next.... |
