I finished the original Naruto, when I was about 9 to 11 years old, and loved it! So recently I tried getting into Shippuden, but it seems so much worse. It just doesn't seem to have the same heart as the original. It's turned into who can do the biggest landscape destroying "justu" But the question is, does it get better and is it worth to grind through these boring arcs.

I'm not a fan but I am up to date on it.

What I can verify is that the Chuunin Exams in the original Naruto was the highlight of the whole series.
Even up to now, there still hasn't been a battle that has been able to surpass Gaara vs Rock Lee.

Sasuke vs Killer Bee was probably one of the better moments, but still not as good as G v L.

Although the story develops and more is revealed, at those points the shock factor isn't really there.

The invasion of Pain was decent but they pulled a Clannad AS ending to it.

Later on there are moments during the
which could have been potentially amazing scenes but they fall extremely short. Perhaps they were better in the manga, I can't say, but the same can't be said for the anime.

I was honestly never a fan of Naruto shippuden, I liked the original Naruto, a lot, and it got bad at shippuden because it lost the nestalgic feel and the voice actors were just getting more annoying, idk. I just don't fan shippuden, but it did get a little better after the halfway point :D

Well, for your particular I don't think it will.

The characters become more and more powerful magicians as the series progresses and destroy larger and larger terrains; if you 're bothered by it now, you should see the sorcery that they pull at the end of the series.

Anyway, they rely far more on their spells than any physical combat. After all, it's only natural since Naruto wants to be the best magician of his village.

I loathe the Chimera Ant arc, I almost snap dropped the show at one point and then put it on indefinite hold at another because it got so tedious.

Because of the narrator and how long it is. But to me it is amazing how a universe can be built inside a universe. The attention to detail, the characterization, the pathos all amazing.

And? Soul Society arc from bleach is one of the best arcs from the mainstream shonen aswell. One arc being good doesn't mean much to the series as a whole.

@OP
Shippuden has some very nice arcs, and some crazy akatsuki action. Starting off with Deidara Sasori, then Hidan and Kakuzu (my favourite arc), and then all the way to the kage summit. Anything right before the war starts and during the war is not worth watching imo.

For the most part I didn't mind the constant narration.

It started to really bother me however, when they invaded the palace and the characters were literally shown moving in slow motion for 3/4 of the episodes while the narrator talked about what they were doing or planned to do--what the invasion meant to every character present even though it was already known.

At that point I realized something was amiss.

Those were some of the problems I had as well. I think a lot of that could have been cut out to make for a much more concise and compact experience. It was kind of weird how the narrator wasn't so in your face in the other arcs but now in this arc he was. I don't really think it was to the arcs detriment because by far it is the best part of the show. In encapsulates everything good about the show and fine tunes it.

This is where I put the show on hold because it just got so tedious, I felt like each episode didn't really advance the plot much.

All I know is, the Chimera Ant arc is the one that divides those who have watched HxH 2011 most.

Pretty sure by now most have agreed to the "meh, we all have different tastes" argument.

Also, if these recent posts are an indication of anything OP, it's that you should continue watching HxH 2011.

Yorknew city is great though, Naruto does have its moments, even in Shippuden so if you like that kinda of story I'd say its worth it, at least for the Invasion of Pain which is really great minus the ending.

Even when it's bad, don't you dare drop it! Haven't you learned anything from the Hokage in the making, Uzumaki Naruto!?!? The path to splendor and greatness should be tough, but you have to be the one running ahead full speed so you don't have to walk over the corpses of your nakama. That should be your way of the ninja!

Invasion of Pain in the anime is pretty overrated, in the manga it was better. Also 5 Kage Summit arc was a lot better than Invasion of Pain arc.

I haven't read the manga so I can't compare and I dropped it after the Pain arc due to having filler that I just couldn't handle and its a personal rule of mine to watch every non-recap episode.

You should take a look sometimes at that part in the manga and compare it to the anime. To my recollection there was no filler arc in between Invasion of Pain and 5 Kage Summit.

I recently picked the show back up after hearing the manga finished. Slowly catching up. It was a bit dull for me too but I find the show really picks up during the Pain arc. When all the feels hit you. Aside from the occasional animation and design errors, shitloads of flashback and padding and filler, still enjoying it. Also Ep246, so many feels.

If you've watched all of the original Naruto, then you probably know enough to skip straight to the Pain Arc (I believe it's titled Invasion of the Hidden Leaf) and understand enough to enjoy it. It takes place in episodes 157-169 and 172-175 (170 and 171 are filler). Jiraiya's episodes 129-133 are also pretty good.

In my opinion, that's pretty much the peak of the show and one of the only arcs worth watching, though I enjoyed Shikamaru's arc with Hidan, which were episodes 77-88.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Eh, the Pain arc is unrelated to a good bit of canon and holds up on its own pretty well. If you watch the very beginning of Shippuden, you'll know why they'd be after Naruto (and hell, I think it was at least partly mentioned in the original series), and the only new Jutsu he develops in those 150 episodes (that don't all include him) is the wind shuriken. I would revise my statement to recommend watching Jiraiya's episodes before the Invasion of the Hidden Leaf, though. Should give him plenty of background to understand what happens.
