| Yes it does... wow, the art is so different! I'm still waiting for OVA to come out. It should be released now. Edit: I found the only streaming link that I found with it, but not very good (problematic, because when it doesn't get loaded successfully, it will change to another clip!), I will just post it here just in case people want to see it. http://6.cn/watch/13947059.html I like ED. |

| Key animation done by Ryo-timo which did Gurren Lagann, FMA: Brotherhood, Evangelion 1.0. Sweet! I can see bits of it in the trailer. Looks freakn bomb. |

| I could watch Yae waltzing through the city all day. OAD was superbly done once I get past the discofort of adjusting to the new chara designs. Not that they were all bad, just different. There were some really nice shots where the designs stood out well though. Production was really high level. Lots of dynamic movement and angles, with a much livelier camera following the characters. Music is good as well, took a few listens to like the OP but the ED was instant love. The use of photos of what I presume is the real life Sakurashin was a neat choice to go with Rin running. Can't wait for some real action to kick in, which will have to wait till next year ;_;. |

| It was good but I have no idea whats going on. I never watch the original series so I don't know whats the story whatever. I seriously need to watch the sub version. The art reminds me of Birdy Decode, but I prefer the one like Durarara's. The OP song is really addicting. I can't get that song out of my head! |

| Never watched the original, but i guess i should not plan on it. I liked what i saw. I really liked it =P As a first time viewer i didn't have that much difficulty following it. While there is plenty i don't get, it will be interesting to learn as i watch. Seems like some kick ass battles to come. |

| The show was mediocre at least but looking at this Ova gave me alot of respect for this anime. Honestly i had alot of fun watching this, nothing like first season. |

| So they're doing Rin's arc for this OVA? That's fine, I remember liking that one in the manga. Not too keen on the animation direction here, as I was quite fond of Suzuhito Yasuda's art, and this adaptation seems a bit off from that. Hopefully this won't sour me too much, as I still did quite like this episode. |

| It was pretty good... The pace was nice, the comedy wasn't that bad, and the story this time seems much better. I kind of liked the animation too, except for the male lead's face... Then comes Unison Square Garden with their second good OP this season, and an ED by the great Suemitsu and the Suemith (good ED, but nowhere near Suemitsu's usual genius). Couldn't ask for much more in that department. I'll have to finish the first adaption one day, even if it is bad... Just a question though, does this start from the start of the manga? It doesn't really seem like it did. |
| ok the animation sucks balls and doesnt fit the series (fuck you k-on >_>) but that first episode gave away a much better feeling than the first adaption also the ost is good too |
| Still trying to get use to the new character designs, which while decent, lack the distinctiveness and edginess we're used to seeing with this property. The episode was enjoyable, but the over the top action sequence featuring Yae and those masked perps was incredible and definitely the highlight for me. |

| It's definitely a lot better than the Nomad Studios adaptation in terms of production quality, and even has the same pro VA staff to boot. Faithful to the manga, very good action scenes, and voice acting that's music to my ears. Studio-original content like Yae's town waltz and Rin's ramen-catching really added interesting twists to the characters, and the camera angles and movement complimented the action sequences. Although, there were some noticeable things that just didn't work as well. The character designs, for one, changed from Yasuda-sensei's distinctive sharp style to more rounded... moeblobs. While the voicing was superb, the dialog itself was lacking in depth. The animation was somewhat inconsistent, going from amazingly fluid action scenes to somewhat choppy in slower bits. Overall, it's definitely, definitely better than the Nomad Studios adaptation. The character designs throw off fans of the original manga, though it better suits the different feel of the animation's artistic style. Screen caps included~ |

| Well, "Hoshi no Umi" in the title makes things quite obvious. Good it's more faithful to the manga but art is horrible. Whatever you say about first season, Nomad managed to reproduce the series style. Here we have weird, kyoani-like character design, mediocre animation and ugly colors. Nice to watch but still quite a let down. |

| This OVA was superb. It shows how good the Anime series could have been if done correctly. The art is too round at times and some scenes reminded me of something made by SHAFT. I would have prefered the old character design as well but the new animation is fantastic whatsoever. Definitely worth the wait. |

| I dislike the art. It asen't got the adult look like Yozakura Quartet did and it isn't on the same level of detail. I wonder how the Story will be. |

It ends slightly before what chapter 26 covers, but it's mostly all there. I can see myself enjoying this a good bit, as this was probably one of my favorite arcs in the manga, but it'll take a while to get over the art. As long as it stays close to the manga, that's already a large step over the original series in story, anyways. |

| I hate the new chara design and animation, the old was very good, why they chose to do a new ? Otherwise, the rest is good but not at level of the first serie. |

| I remember being hyped for the original series then it aired and was utterly a let down. This seems like it could be better though judging from this first episode. Surprised everyone hates the art so much, I mean sure I preferred the character designs in the first (were they accurate to the manga I wouldn't know?) but they were the only thing I remember liking besides the concept in the first series. I think the animation style in this ova is quite cool and like someone else said the character designs work with the animation style, probably why they were changed. |
| New animation? actually it fits, like it, the same animation as flcl and Guren-lagan.. overall it was an OK episode, a bit fight and the start of an new Ova, seeing forward next episode. |

| Yesss!!! I got to see my adorable Kyosuke Kishi again!!! <3333 Returning to the OVA, the action was super awesome, and the scenes where Yae was, were simply amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of the new character design (except for Rin, Yae and Yuuhi) but it's not like it bothers me. I'm so happy to see how actually this goes more like the manga (which I totally love), something the series lacked (and made me put a face of :/) Ahaha, I really like this OVA! I'm already wanting the next one (I want more Kyosuke too xD...just kidding) Plus, awesome OP and ED. I rest my case. |
